Thank you for the excellent background. So people were borrowing yen from Japan and buying dollars making the dollar stronger. The borrowing ceased, the dollar weakened and the yen strengthened as these things were unwound. This reduced the demand for U.S. securities since it amounted to a quick rise in interest rates like 2 years ago caused by Fed.

Investing with an expert is the best strategy for beginners and busy investors, as most failures and losses in investment usually happen when you invest without proper guidance. I'm speaking from experience..

If Japan is buying USA debt with the Japanese Yen and the Yen rates increased, then the US Feds will have to increase interest rates to encourage Japanese to continue to buy US debt. Otherwise, who is going to buy US debt? If buy US debt is not enticing and no one buys then US banks are forced to front money on their lending and margin calls will be due. Banks will put restrictions on how much money can take out of their accounts. It would quickly turn into a cluster. Banks since 2020 borrow unlimited funds to pay for these calls and it could Barrel us into a greater problem as an alternative solution.

Funny how all of these news casters are all experts on the carry trade now. The hubris is so bad she’s even holding a paper to explain to her how it works and has absolutely no embarrassment about doing so. How pathetic.

You have never heard of carry trade until now, her holding notes to make sure she is giving factual information is called being professional, not just spouting misinformation

They’re news anchors. Reporting the news. Reading papers /cards/teleprompters are what news anchors have done since the beginning of news broadcasting. 🤦🏾‍♂️
You sound like you’re looking for a reason to be mad.
