i think if you enjoyed the theatric aspect of this, as well as kyo's (the singer's) voice, you would love vinushka, especially the live version from the androgynous concert, incredible crowd, song showcases an even wider range of his vocals

      Vinushka is a great song.

Yeah Vinushka is absolutely incredible song. And it perfectly shows Kyo's wide vocal register. He didn't show his low register and growl here. Be sure to see Vinushka. It better shows the musical style of Dir En Gray.

The algorithm doesn't quite work yet because I searched for Dir en grey reactions earlier this day and your reaction didn't show up anywhere. Which is a shame because I bloody loved it :)
It's a bit late at the moment but I gave you a sub and will come back tomorrow to take a closer look at your channel. I truly enjoyed the way you reacted.
Dir en grey have been my favourite band for well over 20 years now and as a person highly interesting in and gravitating to performance art and more theatrical shows the show this is from (ARCHE day 2) is probably one of my favourites because it looks and sounds absolutely stunning. I also adore this performance of "Rinkaku" (your pronunciation was great btw) so this reaction made me particularly happy. But, of course, it mostly displays Kyo's higher register and although I am very aware that many fans won't believe this to be a good introduction song I think the one you should react to next should be "The Blossoming Beelzebub". It's not only one of my personal favourites, it's also one of their darker and more obscure songs which I think would contrast nicely to this one. It's pretty slow paced and weird but absolutely knows how to build suspension and create a certain mood which I think is brilliant.
Because it's also vocally challenging and the performance plays a huge role with this song (at least for me) I would particularly recommend the DUM SPIRO SPERO at Nippon Budokan version (I couldn't add a link but the title here on youtube is "The Blossoming Beelzebub from Dum Spiro Spero at Nippon Budokan 2014" sadly it's not in HD but the sound is good and picture is ok on my device, I don't know how well it translates to your equipment though?)
If it's not suitable for a reaction try "“Yokusou Ni DREAMBOX” Aruiwa Seijuku No Rinen To Tsumetai Ame" from the same album _DUM SPIRO SPERO_ (just search for 'Dreambox' on Kaya's channel. When you see someone looking like a half-wrapped-fully-badass mummy you've got the right one ;))

This singer has possibly the widest screaming range in music but he doesn't use any of that in this song. He can sing super high in chest voice as well. As well as super low. All their songs are something different. Singer also has two other bands. Every new album from each band has some new style that makes me think "I've never heard him... or anyone else sing like that".
I would recommend Dir en grey - Schadenfreude live. It's a song from their newest album and shows off a lot more of the singer's range. They incorporated some elements of black metal (black metal style guitars and blast beats) on this album and this song has a bit of that so that might be of interest for that reason also. The song The Perfume of Sins features more obvious black metal influences but I recommend Schadenfreude due to getting to see more of the singer's range.

Dir en grey have a very large repertoire of different styles. Every song is different, every album is different and the singer, Kyo, has a huge repertoire of screams, shouting, growls but also singing / vocal ranges. Rinkaku only shows a very small part of his skills. From short and hard to beautiful, emotional ballads to progressive long, over 10 minutes long and very varied songs, you can find everything
Short and hard: ZAN (2009 version), Hageshisa to ..., Obscure (2011 version), Agigated Screams of maggots, Grief, Different sense
long, prog: Vinushka, Macabre (2013 version live), Diabolos, the world of mercy, the perfume of sins, Schadenfreude, the blossoming Beelzebub
emotional ballad: Namamekashiki ansoku, tamerai ni hohoemi; conceived sorrow, Vanitas, Inconvenient ideal, Mushi
something in between: Tousei, the Pledge, Kamuy, Toguro, Otogi
something else: Phenomenon, Bugaboo, Stuck man, Disabled Complexes

Dir en grey is very unique and avant garde compared to other Japanese bands as well. Great reaction btw

Schadenfreude if u want avant-garde/prog metal with high screeches
Obscure if u want one of their heaviest songs with my favourite music video
Vinushka if u want to see the full range of the vocalist Kyo's voice (there's a brilliant live performance on youtube)

The following must be added to Obscure: There is the first version from 2003, for which there is also the rather disturbing (but great) music video. And there is a completely revised new recording from 2011, which is significantly harder than the original version. You can hear certain parallels in the songs, but if you don't know it, you could also mistake them for completely different songs.

Agree! Japanese crowds are so attuned with the artists.
I call it J-sound :D The sound that makes music no matter the genre recognizable. I'm not sure why or what it is but it is there.

I wish you check out more from them. This was a good display of Kyos high range, but he has such a great low end and growls

Probably all dir en grey songs are reactable tbh every album (til the last couple) is a different genre and the albums get heavier as they go on, and every song on each album is very unique. For heavy go dead crow or juuyoku, for soft try undecided or vanitas. For long and epic go Vinushka or Diablos. And that's mostly (relatively) new stuff

Hi! Great reaction! Rinkaku has a very unique sound imo, it's very dramatic but simple in some way and the emotional aspect just works wonders for me. I especially love Toshiya's (the bass player) sound in this recording, it's very distinct and showcases how he likes to play. I would love to see more DeG reactions from you!
If I may, I would also suggest watching the Gazette. They are my favourites among Japanese artists. We lost the bass player Reita unfortunately almost two months ago. I would love to show this band to more and more people so that everyone can enjoy their music and continue Reita's legacy. I think Dogma, Deux, DIM Scene are very good choices to start with
