Yes! So THIS is how it's taught correctly. As a little kid on The West Coast Demo Team with Ninja Turtle and Nate Diaz's long time striking coach, Ernie Reyes Jr. (Early 1980s'). I would see this kick landing over and over in tournaments. I don't remember ever learning this but it morphed into my 540 and cheat 720 back kick. My favorite and most devastating. Aim for Solarplexus, if off a couple of inches, still devastating. Red belt and above. Get your basics down first (I was taught).

When you discover you can spin as fast as a figure skater..this leads to in my opinion the most powerful kick in all martial arts.
