    The new image vectorizer is a great way to create graphics for a vintage t-shirt design. I give four examples of how to create those graphics and how to use them in t-shirt designs.

    Hi Juna, I'm binge watching all your videos. For this one, do you download the vectorized image as what? Then you upload to the bookmarked template you are using? You skipped over that step...Do we edit the vectorized image some more in the template? If you download as png, will we still be able to edit? I hope you get this message :). Thank you so much for your tutorials. They are lifesaving!

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  Год назад

      Right I did skip over it, sorry....when you vectorize an image it will save it to your uploads.... Open up the template you want to use, delete the things in the template you don't want, find the vectorized image in your uploads panel and then click on it and it will add it to the template you are working on.... hope that helps

    Juna, I would appreciate a video from you on the use of "Alpha Mask" versus the other blend modes, as you use them when applying a grunge or distressed texture within Kittl. .
    For example, it appears you and other designers use a lot of "vintage or grunge" textures.
    If one is using the Alpha Mask (blend mode) for textures, I am unsure if it is good to use it for designs that may be on black or white shirts, etc. By that I mean, does it mess up the design if the design was intended for dark shirt, but customer chose a light toned /colored shirt? I am new to this, never used the Alpha Mask mode before. So, on some Kittl templates I see grunge textures with "Color Burn" used and others used "Alpha Mask." I would like some tips or guidance (rule of thumb) on which is best to choose and why, when you want to make the design appear vintage (distressed). I suggest showing the same design on different colored shirts to illustrate how it may change the appearance (with black or white showing through the design).

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  Год назад

      I like to use the alpha mask with clip content.... it will remove the texture from anything on the design besides the background... all the other blends add to the design.... I talk a little bit about it in this video.....ruclips.net/video/yUxbR5DoBK0/видео.html

    I'm new to designing and pod. Am binge watching many videos. Do you happen to know if there are any design tools where you can make the image 300dpi without having to put it in a separate converter?? I don't understand why canva, placeit, and others don't allow for 300dpi size when apparently that gives the best quality print. 🤔 It seems like it would take a looooong time to get anything done if having to do conversions on every image.

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  Год назад +3

      You can create 300dpi images in design tools like Affinity Designer, Photoshop, Illustrator and Photopea..... but honestly if you create you design in pixels and make it 4500x5400 pixels you should be fine it's really the pixels that matter when creating in pixels.... DPI only matters if you are creating it (and exporting it) in inches.... a 4500x5400 pixel image will automatically convert to 300 dpi when printed to 15x18 inches.....15x300 = 4500 & 18x300=5400

    The only thing I don't like about kittl is that there is no way to do color gradients. Sure you can do 2 tone fonts, but no gradient options for text or vectors. I mean, if im wrong, I would love it if someone could correct me and explain how to do gradients because I would love a simple solution
