The first painting is American artist Cy Twombly. He was one of the famous abstract painter. Same period time with Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns btw!

Mondrian's squares never overlapped like that though and the composition would be balanced unlike this which is lopsided.

The packaging design was indeed inspired by Mondrian's art. However, this was also not a direct collaboration between the skincare brand and the De Stijl artist.
During the '90s and '00s, many brands have chosen to use De Stijl style art as a marketing tool due to its simplicity and vibrant color palette.

The logo was created long before they decided to compliment it with the Mondrian inspired pattern on the packaging of this product line. Without the pattern, the logo would still represent the company L'Oreal. On the other hand, without the logo, the design would just be a Mondrian look alike on a random tube of no-name hair gel.
PS: I never said the PACKAGING DESIGN is not BASED on Mondrian's work. The original comment stated that the L'Oreal LOGO is based on Mondrian's paintings, which is not true.

I saw a wonderful piece of art today... a very rare double rainbow which formed perfect concentric circular arcs whose ends touched the horizon. Within minutes of its appearance, I could see dozens of people out in the parking lot taking pictures. The entire phenomenon lasted less than 15 minutes. Whether you ascribe it to nature or to God, such an occurrence is a privilege to witness. In 65 years of living, this is only the second time I've seen such a thing.

The "Urinoir" is by Marcel Duchamps, and he had submitted it to an art contest, where he himself was one of the judges, to test if it was indeed true that "anything would be accepted". The artwork was [NOT] rejected, but wasn't put on display.
