- A song about growing up in an unprivileged family and about the dream to come across that one person who can pull you out of your situation and give you an opportunity to achieve the "good life" - hoping that your own kids will have a better upbringing and the cycle is poverty is being broken.
The video was recorded during one of my street shows in the beautiful harbor city of La Rochelle (France).

This is an awesome cover but it doesn't capture the somber tone of tracy chapman - its a really sad song and this version is upbeat and happy.
Agreed... The trouble with covers is this happens a lot. I've heard a lot of covers doing the opposite lately. Happy songs covered and turned into melancholic versions.
Actually, it's kind of cool that he made his own style! But i totally see where you're coming from.
