Plan B, or Ben Drew, is emerging as one of Britain's most imaginative and dexterous artistic talents. A singer, musician, writer, actor and director he first made his name as a hip-hop artist with the release of his critically-acclaimed debut album in 2006. Two years later he appeared in his first film, Adulthood. Later this year sees the release of iLL Manors, his first film as director-writer, charting the lives of a group of young people living in East London. Meanwhile, in the autumn, he will appear alongside Ray Winstone in the remake of the 70s TV classic The Sweeney. In an Observer interview last year Plan B said that much of his film and music work is inspired by injustice and much of it reflects on his life and upbringing as a youth in east London.

I remember when me and my family was homeless. We asked social services for help...they didnt help us then we finally had a home over our heads, they had the cheek to send out a social worker to see if we had beds!!!! injustice going on everywhere and not being said.
It's incredible how your passion can literally drive you from being "under" everyone else to being "over" everyone and in a position to serve others. It's inspiring to know that through his passion, he made himself a leader with the heart of a servant. What an incredible life to have the opportunity to live.

ill manors is one of the greatest british films ever made and this guy is on another level pure talent and i cant wait to see what he does next im not really a fan of his music even though its great im all for seeing him as a screenwriter or director,,shane meadows gave us this is england all based in the midlands ben drew and noel clarke show us the grit of inner city london a story that needs to be told
plan b is a modern day hero for all the kids and young adults out there... watching him talk inspires me to do things that can help children change for the better.
I listening to this once a week makes me feel like there's some hope in life
I have to say, growing up as a 'youth' in Britain is hard, but Plan B is doing an amazing thing for us; he's saying what we're trying to put across to the 'adults'. I have so much respect for him and everything he's about and the best part is that he's genuine, it's not an act, and he's not trying to make profit out of it, he genuinely cares about how our future turns out, I wish I could say the same for others out there.
We need more people like you ben drew you tell it how it is .

He made some very good points. He's very articulate and ambitious. I appreciate that. Too bad, here in the States, people wouldn't get him. He's way too smart..
There are fantastic organisations like Kids Co and southend YMCA doing this sort of work and trying hard to reach vulnerable and damaged young people. Plan B is a total star doing this. Much respect to him to raising awareness about the number of kids living in terrible emotional and financial poverty.

ben drew is my biggest hero, he came from nothing, he came from a broken home&ended up in a PRU only getting 3 gcse's&look what hes managed to do in his life. he speaks the truth and tells storys in his songs, ben drew is my hero and my role model because he came from nothing but made himself into something.

Plan B's awesome, love the fact that his music/media always has a positive message and the fact that it doesn't seem positive at first listen/watch, you have to delve into it and appreciate it. His music, for years, has been way ahead of most in his lane, but that depends on what lane he wants to take!!! Keep up the amazing work 👏 👏👏

Very inspiring story. 20 until approx. 10 years ago I tried to help some persons (with none, less, good results, or I lost them out of sight), but it stopped since my family needed me the most (it just happens). Hope to help someone when my whole family is more on track.
But your story: if évery person would help 1 by the press demonized young person, what a real different world this would be!

Up for it Ben talk to me want to help, I have one of them skills you talk of, so do many others if only we can reach them.

Wow. Ben Drew is one inspirational man. Those 7 people who disliked this must be either blind or deaf. I am now not going to use the word chav ever again. Ben Drew would make a much better politician than anyone who sits in the Houses Of Parliament. People would listen to him too.

One of the most down to Earth people in the world.
This is all true . I grew up in a rough area in hackney so I had many men trying to rob me and had fights to protect myself and you know knifes pulled on me . Drugs and prostitution was around too. What I did was play football 24/7 and I find that helped me stay away from this craziness and keep me focused . So what I’m saying is to any youth out there my advice is keep busy and do something positive with your life as London has a lot of opportunities to be whatever you want in this life . Take the right path stay busy and keep positive and stay focused . X

@WooferAttackTV his point was when he put the pic up of the "chav" someone said chav. which means in your words troublemaker, how did the person know that from the pic, they dont but they still made that judgment because the person looked like they might be from an less afluent background.
