    I grew up in tornado alley in a house without a basement. Many a night I was jerked out of my bed by my Dad and carried through the rain and wind across the street to a neighbors cellar. Very scary as a child. Nothing ever happened to our community. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as you try to pick up the pieces of your lives and recover from this.

    Wow this is Indian lake I live in wapakoneta Ohio This is like 15 minutes from us. This is the worst place a tornado could touch down not that there's a good one but you know what I mean because this entire community is basically campers, trailer, small little cabins.

      the Joplin ef-5 mile+ wide tornado was especially strange… i saw the destruction 2 days after it hit, every single house on the left side of the street leveled down to the foundation, 0 structure remaining whatsoever…. then the houses on the right side of the same street(s)?… minimal to absolutely no damage at. all. … very odd phenomenon.

    • @serkotsins

      @@baadach3752 The Joplin EF5 was a multi vortex tornado, it’s very common to see this pattern of damage when a tornado has multiple vortexes. Basically a multi-vortex nader has one parent circulation that contains smaller rotating vortexes inside- those smaller suction vortexes inside are what’s causing the damage. Some houses are just lucky to not be directly hit.

    • @Blane_be_fishin
      @Blane_be_fishin 10 месяцев назад

      There’s a lot of mobile homes. They are bound to get hit by tornadoes. They also get more publicity since there’s more destruction and deaths when a mobile home park gets hit. So it just seems like they get hit more frequently.

    • @DavGreg
      @DavGreg 10 месяцев назад

      The issue with Mobile homes is often not the structure but the fact that the foundation is poor. The things are driven down highways at 75 MPH for hours with no damage- that would be an EF1 Tornado force. But with just tie downs on blocks - a common method - they often get tumbled or tilted enough for the foundation to fail and then the structure is compromised.
      There is no good reason a manufactured home should be any more vulnerable than a site built wooden home if they are on a proper foundation.

      @@bobbysenterprises3220 The rules in Part 107 primarily apply to commercial drone operations. Law enforcement agencies often have specific exemptions or operate under different guidelines that allow them more flexibility, especially for public safety operations such as these. They might use a Certificate of Waiver or Authorization (COA) from the FAA for operations that don't fit within Part 107 limitations. I'm thankful for the OSP.

    • @bobbysenterprises3220

      Good on your part for knowing the law. Many people don't realize the coa and what it takes to get approval. Then see this and think it's fine to do. I've also watched in person some irresponsible flights by law enforcement.
      Every time somthing happens several laws have already been broken and they just want more regulations. Even when the PIC was already breaking tons of regs. This placing more restrictions on legitimate free use. I see a local breaking some significant 107 regs I know there is no waver for and his cert level he should know better. Yet people harass me for being completely legal with FAA and local regs. Not everyone but some.
