I bought SX4 in 2007 at launch time. Still owning it and will get it extended for another 5 yrs. Engine truly rocks with mileage of 13-14 kmpl. Old Suzukis were really legend !

I was proud owner of Grand Vitara for short period of 5 years... Exact same color.. Very capable car... I would have never sold it but had to since shifted Australia in 2020.
I also have this car from 15 years and I will not sold it for my last day of life
This is the best looking Grand Vitara even compared to the latest Vitara being sold now by Suzuki in Europe.
In India, because of our tax structure, we get junk quite literally.
Even the Kia Seltos sold in India is of an inferior build quality than the one sold abroad.

@@patelanupam1408 Have you seen how much a car is taxed right from the time it is made till the time it is delivered to the customer? There are taxes imposed after taxes. The structure is absolutely ridiculous. Read up more on something before commenting.
@@patelanupam1408 Implementing global standards cost money. A component that is of high quality costs more.
Now if the cost of the car is already very high then the company knows that it cannot sell a car beyond a certain price. It then starts making cutbacks because at the end of the day they are there to earn a profit, not do charity.
Therefore the tax structure has to be more realistic. Right now its bordering on ridiculous.

This was an SUV way ahead of its time. I saw this cars' capabilty and prowess during the Desert Strom rally where i had gone with media. It glided like knife over butter on thick sand..a true 4x4
I remember when I went with my parents to buy Maruti 800 in 2001 and saw this car in the showroom. It was priced 16.5L as a CBU even at that time. If it was still sold in Indian market it would have costed minimum 30L even as a CKD.

Old Maruti Suzuki cars were so good, miss those legendary cars like Zen, Zen Estilo, Swift, Swift Dzire, Grand Vitara SX4, those were the real Maruti cars, sad to say that they will never come back😔

No role of Maruti in this suv apart from import, it's a pure Suzuki meant for global market can even give tough competition in driving to these modern day compact SUV's
All Marutis are pure Suzuki… Even if the Grand Vitara was manufactured in India, they wouldn’t be any difference in quality

Japanese manufacturers were legends in excellence but price wars have forced them to cut costs in every corner.
12:05 I have covered worse roads than this with Nexon with only front wheel drive and not only me people travel in Maruti 800s and Altos in such roads as long as ground clearance is not an issue. This road looks fairly leveled (since it is a road of course).
I wish there was AWD offered in Nexon, could have been a very capable car with that kind of GC.

Grand Vitara with its 4x4 is a very capable car, spacious, better interior fit and finish, wide tyres, 2 liter engine , excellent safety and the list goes on...
They were called the real suzuki's of Japan, the quality of indian maruti is very poor than that of Japan's suzuki

This is a car which was BRILLIANT. It cannot be compared to ANY other Maruti car. This is leagues ahead of it's time. Fantastic build and ride quality. The only reason it did not sell much was because it came in PETROL only.I had this beautiful car in 2010, it was solid and never had any problem whatsoever. It did feel a little underpowered though

I have seen a couple of grand vitara in dehi and Pune. Indeed a very good looking and capable car. It would be nice to see maruti bringing this old gem back in future. Great car and happy miles to the owner👍❤️

Bhai that road is very much in a good shape. I drive in my i10 with 4-5 persons on a usual day on this road. You could have tried some other Rocky, slopy link roads in the vicinity. Though, the capabilities of this car can’t doubted but in roads pe baaki gadiyan bhi mast chalti hai. Nothing exceptional.

And most Maruti cars are fully designed and engineered in Japan. Some cars of theirs, like SX4, Kizashi, S Cross and Grand Vitara have good build quality. But I know that most don’t. The designers and engineers in Japan are responsible for them, don’t blame the factory! 🤦♂️

This was a much loved car in Northeast India back in 2008/09.
Grand Vitara is the proper OG Suv from Maruti, from a time when MS was fun and experimental.
Nd don't forget 1st Gen Swift nd early 2000's Zen. They were in a league of their own
Maruti actually had some character back then, Nowadays, Maruti is just greedy for sales, not much love goes to their car’s overall quality. Just economy, after sales network, affordable pricing, and localisation/ease of finding parts is what they do, as that’s what gets them the sales that they’re eager for…
Suzuki's best, another one called the Kizashi wss made by Suzuki those days but in India Maruti decided to sell the likes of the Celerio due to demand.

For registration used car in hp..apko sale purchase ka ek affidavit inclose krna hota hai..usme ap 40k ya50k value add krwa lo to tax uske according ho lgega..not according insurance value.. personal experience hai..
Suzuki seela premium vehicles in western markets. Mind you that's despite it's falling marketshare in those regions. India deserves better quality products from a company which honours markets that don't perform well for it.
After watching this video I think the old vitara is much better in practicality than the new vitara
