His arms are so big they could contain several burly firemen each... Literally, they are the cab of a Fire truck, those can hold like 5 firemen.

Oh I absolutely KILLED my self to make this. Normally I'd have saved something like this for the Sunday video, that way I have like 4 days to work on it. But I didn't want to miss out on this bolt of Inspiration, so instead I had 2 and I suffer for my hubris.
I don’t know why but I weirdly love the color of blue he is, I feel like I’ve never seen a figure that color before.
It's a delicate shade, not matching his design.

I love MMC onslaught, but I love this hotspot so much I’d go out of my way to buy an updated onslaught with this level of amazing built into it
I was thinking the same thing. I usually do not buy the same mp figure twice. But if they retooled onslaught with the lessons they learned here, I would be pretty tempted to buy an update.
I mean Onslaught was already pretty poseable. Really the biggest difference here, is how much articulation you get out of the hands, and forearms, plus how good the sculpt looks.
@@PerspectiveEnd oh 100 percent agreed, but I just recently started messing with my bruticus after having him posed for a while and found if I rotate the knee swivel 90 degree bruticus’ combined mode silhouette looks way better in my opinion and after seeing how incredibly proportionate the defensor body is I’d love to see that applied to the bruticus set

I find more figures to be good than bad, but it's rare one inspires me this much.

man so far the battle between the two sets of MMC combiners resembles their fight in the episode B.O.T (aka defensor blasted bruticus to pieces and swindle was the only one not reduced to a pile of scrap)
Indeed, as much as I love their Bruticus, they are definitely trying to turn this into an Asskicking on Defensors side.

Not so much an upgrade, as it is two pieces of 25 cent, black card stock that help it not BLOW OUT the camera.

I care about Masterpiece and third party stuff! I think that stuff is super interesting.
Holy hell this thing is awesome! The shoulders look slightly weird, but everything else is awesome. Liking the new lightbox too, gives much better contrast.
So what you are telling me, this is more inner core white Magnus, than inner core white Magnus.
You pretty quickly get over the shoulders when you realize he's a Space Marine.

I remember collecting Bayverse figures leader class with the electronic lights and sounds with the spring loaded gimmicks. That was my childhood that I want back.
I mean I appreciate the greater accuracy, better articulation, and Higher quality, but I miss big dumb silly stuff.

Yeah, it’s the coolest looking Devastator I’ve ever seen.
I look at this figure and the only thing i can imagine is Optimus calling them in, them dropping in like god damn helldivers, combining, and tearing open the decepticon fortress like it were soggy paper, with their bare hands.

For years I've been wanting to get MMC's IDW comics inspired Whirl figure, but my sorry behind is broke.
The good news is they already did one, the bad news is, it's on the IDW design he had before the one people actually care about.

When I see figures like this, I can't help but think that the 3rd Party companies are bigger Transformers fans than the actual team working at Hasbro/Takara. This is the best and most definitive version of Hot Spot I've ever seen.

Do you think MMC could actually make a Soundwave that somehow surpasses your currently best Soundwave, the MP-13?
MP-13 already does so much right, I can't imagine it being topped, but it seems MMC can absolutely deliver on the SAUCE for a figure if given a chance.
Very possible, but at the same time that Soundwave is basically perfect. Really making it better would just entail making it look a little more accurate, and giving it an ab crunch.
Even if his water cannons dont look like water cannons,you could say that just his presence puts the fire out.

Also, check out the few panels that Hotspots Lost light design is shown, it’s pretty cool. EDIT: I’m actually not sure if the lost light design is actually a design made for lost light, so if it isn’t a lost light exclusive, then I’m sorry
He died Pretty Quick in Lostlight, when Starsaber chopped him up. Looking it up, I never realized they replaced Rook with Ambulon's corpse.

They are some of the more Affordable 3P ones out there, as the limbs tend to be around 100 per figure as opposed to the 200 of other companies.

Do you mean the lightbox, or the shelving that's behind me while I'm on camera, because neither of those is new. The Shelving is just set to red right now, and the Box just has 50 cents worth of Black Card Stock in it to keep it from blowing out the camera.

What’s kind of funny you mentioned it in the beginning that Hotspot kind of looks like Optimus Prime, there’s actually a Cybertronian personality disorder that affects 2 percent of all Autobots and it’s called “Primus apotheosis”. obsessive need to specifically emulate Optimus Prime. Its major symptoms include the constant quoting of notable sayings by Prime, altering one's physical form to appear more similar to Prime, and sacrificing one's own life at the earliest opportunity for even the most remotely noble goal. What’s funny is Hotspot isn’t on the list of bots that have the disorder, lol

So far I'd say the Combaticons, as the worst figure on that team is still better than Streetwise, but this is still shaping up to possibly be the better set.
This hotspot basically means the GOAT of third party transformers Hasbro Takara take some freaking notes for once.
They need to get back on track. What they are doing isn't working.

I always love your MP reviews. But I accept I am a statistical outlier, also I love the articulation segment… I think I’m the opposite of your average fan.
With a foot being a massive block, I can forgive the tiny toes because it's balance looks amazing and I have yet to see a transformer stand in any ballerina pose successfully.
I was just wondering last night whether you would ever review this. So this is a pleasant surprise. I care about 3rd party and MP.
This figure proves toon accuracy doesn't mean it needs a super complex transformation. That said, I think you're underselling a few other figures' transformation. The Magic Square 2.0 is magnificent and doesn't make me hate life. The Transart TM Megatron is another insanely easy transformation.
How do the joints feel though? Are they too stiff or just right? This is my main concern with beefy characters. They are heavy so they need even tighter joints to hold a pose. Super tight joints can be a nightmare. I don't pose my Planet X Cacus.
Also, articulation is my favorite segment of any review.
I think the MS1.0 had a better transformation, but yes, it's not bad at all.
The hips can be too stiff, but the rest feels just right.
Why? It's the section where I have the least personality, and make the fewest jokes?

Really hoping MMC gets to Superion sooner rather than later. They seem like the only company that could give them individually good alt modes.
I think it may be a while, after this... Which has already taken like 2 years, then they are making Devastator.
Extremely hyped to get this figure. I already thought it looked good and looked like the transformation was fairly straightforward, but this video definitely made me know that I’m going to really like it. Already love the street wise and first aid.
Side note, but where did you order this from, if you don’t mind my asking? Doesn’t seem to be in stock anywhere.
Sorry to say that's because it Sold Out already. I got mine at ShowZstore, but yeah they are just out. According to my contact at MMC they only ever do 3000 Figure first runs, so only 3K of these exist right now.
But the second run is already in production, so best to Preorder that.
And yes you will love it, when you can finally get one in hand.
Why do I have a feeling that when the best of 2024 list comes out this figure won’t take number one and there will be this random figure that nobody expected.

Have you ever heard of Archcore?
It's another high end line of converting toy robots that can be accurately described as "Mad Max meets 40K meets Transformers meets Vikings."
That line goes every bit as hard as it sounds like it does and just for the sake of it also features little figures of Norse Space Marines that can be seated in the vehicles the robots turn into as well as possibly addictive pieces and panels to build entire bases for them all to hang out in.
I have. I've considered buying some but never done it my self. I have limited funds and it already gets mostly eaten up by Transformers.

I mean if you compare him to other Masterpiece sized figures then yeah he's the size of a big leader in comparison, but in comparison to regular figures yeah he's bigger than Commander.

Not to be too ungrateful, but I'm slightly frustrated by the rate. My Growth has never substantially changed, it's been 300 or so a month every month for so long now.
I'd really hoped by this point I'd already be at about 20K. I'm not hoping for a million subs by now, but I thought at some point my growth would... Grow at all?
