Ah, it’s One of those boot sales. These sellers will only be paying about £12 for their pitch, but still asking top end prices as if they had spent £100 to be at an antique fair.

America have yard sales and flea markets which run like 3 times a week and also goodwill bins where you can get a whole bag of plush for a dollar...here in the uk no yard sales boot sale once a week and charity shops price like ebay..hard making money over here
Definitely. It’s a tough game which looks all easy when the sales are rolling in, but it is pretty hard to keep stock numbers up.

As a local I have been going to Ford for years (just as a punter who likes a bargain) and it's joke what some people ask for stuff there. The best one was a battered to hell guitar which was also a poor manufacturer. Having loads I wanted something cheap just as a small project to do up. Asked how much expecting it would be about a fiver to which the guy grunted... "80 quid" (which it would be barely worth brand new.
Alot of the sellers there do house clearances and just dump the stuff out and dream up a figure on the spot without having a clue.
Best find I had was a box of a couple of old nintendos with loads of games and controls ect. Gave the guyb25 quid for the lot to which he said I would double on ebay...... I kept one of the consoles for myself with a few games and sold the rest for about 300 quid

I can’t stand it when sellers say “how much can you pay” or “make me an offer”….and then get offended with the offer you make them! Does my head in!!
Yeah they’re always the worst types! It’s been so long since I’ve been to one, I’ve forgotten how to interact with boot sale sellers 😂

That’s the one, it’s a crazy one. Definitely deals to be had but I feel like it’s more of a contacts kind of game, everyone seemed to know each other there. Not your standard family booty!
These are more flea markets than true car boots and always too dear. I think the traders do more selling/deals amongst themselves before us mortals even arrive. Nothing much to get at these events.😢
Ford is the best car boot in the country I travel from Birmingham to buy.If you willing to spend
a few hundred quid you can get some top items.Anything less then 5 pounds usually rubbish

I’ve had some of my best deals from Ford. It’s for sure the type of boot sale where you won’t get loads because of the prices, but there is a lot more collectable/vintage type items - which to be fair is more what I sell. I can usually figure out the stalls to avoid. Most of the house clearance guys are much more reasonable with prices, but it’s a right effort to dig in the boxes!! 😂

How do you know what price to list items for? For example the kfc hat that’s insanely niche
Just gut feeling and experience. EBay sold prices also help. Think the KFC hat sold for £20/25 in the end

Can I ask what you use you clean shoes and trainers? I have several pairs of my own and never know what to use
To be honest, nothing special. Fairy liquid does the job and a good stiff brush.

@@JammyDodgerFlips I did think you’d say that tbh. A lot of mine get stained from the chemicals I use from car washing before the major work commences for detaiiing. They also stink lol

@@JRDetailingOfficial might not get the stains out but give them a good scrub and see how it goes - if you’re into detailing, Auto Glym odour eliminator is so much better at getting the smells out than most shoe cleaning brands 😂 I use it all the time.
The items that sit on your shelf for a while, Do you hold your own carboot to shift the old stock out.
Occasionally sell at a Carboot again, but tbh, most sells if you drop the price low enough

I didn’t know if you would flip them for a pound on a car boot just so you don’t loose out. I’m not a reseller just came up with the idea as a watcher. Forgot to say - was this a Sunday? Avoid Saturdays and Thursdays at Ford as all dealers.

I would say Thursday is good items forget sat and sunday just cheap items ideal for ebay buyers.I think jammy went the wrong day so got a shock need more 20 quid in your pocket

I think you've misunderstood my post. As someone who just flips for profit, how can you moan about others trying to get a good price for their stuff? It's exactly what you do - you should be applauding them. Instead you're butt hurt because you couldn't make a profit at their expense. Lame.
