Music is the golden key to creating atmosphere and game makers have almost totally forgotten about it. The map design, storytelling and music make the siberian mission the best singleplayer experience ever. Its not just me saying "old was better" in everything, this case its legit. The perfect harmony was created here.
as an outsider who just played this game for the first time recently, you definitely have your rose tinted nostalgia goggles on lol still a great game, especially for the time but nothing about this game screamed "best singleplayer experience ever" to me
Goddamn I miss the PS2 days. This soundtrack alone is a piece of underrated gaming history. now whenever I play The Humane Labs Heist in GTA 5 I switch to First person and play this in the background to bring back that Timesplitters feeling again
I got this game for my 10th Birthday, It was the best birthday gift EVER. Last time I played it was like when I was 13, but I remember getting platinum on all the challenges and arcade, and doing single player on hard by myself. Ever now and again I just start to think of Time Splitters 2 soundtracks..because, the game is just so damn good.
Ditto. Nowadays all the extra maps and the various modes of the game would all to taken out and sold off individually as DLC. I am so grateful that my brother and myself grew up with games long before microtransactions and DLC infected gaming.
I get kinda emotional listening to this =(( What a time to be alive for gaming haha. This series had so much potential. I could still play Ts2 to this day
I got this game for my GameCube when I was about 8 and I remember the zombies horrified me so the only way I could play the level was if I thought of the zombies as a bunch of drunk unarmed guards. ahh the memories...
The best soundtrack I have ever listened in the history of my childhood since the day it releases, I stopped playing and listened it that glorious song.
I played TimeSplitters 2 for the first time yesterday and had an eargasm with this amazing tune, it reminded me of the good old gaming days (GoldenEye 007) when developers were actually concerned about delivering a more than decent soundtrack, along with a fun gameplay. Now it's all about graphics and mature content, how sad.
The best thing about Timesplitters is we make our own set-pieces. Things like CoD and BF3 drag you along with exploding buildings, all TS needs is co-op and we're done.
The SleepingMoose THQ got the rights for Timesplitters today. They annpunced that they want to use the Ip +they own dammbuster studios wich was the original stuff from Timesplitters back then. There is a 99% chance we get a new game. :D
this music........... ominous and dark, i use it when i go to the ancient caverns in runescape, it fits with the background so well..... this music screams "dark underground caverns of untold dangers"
The reason how I found out about timesplitters when I was like 8 years old was because when I bought my ps2 it came with a demo disc named jam pack and there was where I discover timesplitters
A similar story for me, except it was a disc that came with our PS2. A demo disc from that month's issue of PSM. I still remember the games on that disc. This one, some mech game, some X-Men fighting game, and..well, I don't remember 'everything'...
BlamEruntalonGaming I doubt it was X-Men COTA. That was released waaaaaaay before Timesplitters 2 hence it'd be unlikely they'd be on the same demo disc.
I miss old games so much,i mean just imagine the atmosphere while hearing at this masterpiece,I miss the days when games had good music..pfff People of Rare so fucking talented btw..
The Radio woman who gives the announcement was kinda creepy awesome when she said "No Foreign bodies detected releasing lockdown" "Attention Attention Biological weapon has failed in a Research contamination" By the fact it is true and difficult at the hard mode xD
ok i found it, the music thats been in my head, still studying music and guitar and this song was buried deep in my brain from my late teens and reactivated, Its Phrygian mode
I just get an amazing feeling whenever I hear this always puts a smile on my face I played this so much as a kid I always played coop Siberia always scared me lol
Timesplitter Zombies were the best. They weren't like CoD Zombie where they die easily, TS Zombies wouldn't die until you hit their heads, I once spent ten minutes jus trying to kill one zombie. I sent my sister (my favourite co-op partner) on to just complete the mission while I dealt with the one zombie.
I first head this music in a ps2 demo cd when i got my first console. Looked for the game ever since and ended up finding this bit of music just months ago. anyone else did that ?
"ATTENTION. ATTENTION! Biological containment has failed in the research facility. Special forces have been deployed. All unidentified personel WILL be eliminated." When I was younger I nearly shit my pants when I heard that lmao
I never got around to buying the full game, but as a kid I completed the PS2 demo of the siberia level over a million times, man how nostalgic this feels :)
Did you find the helicopter boss fight exploit that can only be done in the demo? When you get the fight to start, if you immediately go back into the elevator you can go down to ground level and fight the boss there :-)
Yeah same. FP is a great game but what it lacked from 2 was the cool level design between each different time periods and the atmospheric music and tone of the levels. A lot of FP's story levels looked very samey and music wasn't that memorable either. Some of the multiplayer maps have good tracks though like disco and spaceport
I'm never buying a Crytek game again. They bought up Free Radical and closed there studio down. Because of that Timeplitters is dead and buried. Oh well, Crysis is shit anyway. The only mildly inventive game they created was Far Cry and they sold it to Ubisoft.
the zombies scared me as a kid (the intro mostly) but even then i loved them they were awesome at first i got scared and started firing wildly but later i just fist fight them
Remember always doin this level over and over again on the hardest difficulty with my brother. We'd spend over 6 hours to complete half of the game.. ~:\
I love this song ... it brings the feeling of stealth and mysteriousness with an underlying hint of eeriness. I also love the Chicago, Notre Damn (both songs) and Training Ground songs! I like TS2 better than Future Perfect. FP tried to be a more serious game (evident by the way the characters were rendered and the blood), but TS2 got it right: the characters were bulky because the game, at its heart, is goofy! Love this game! :D
To name but a few new releases that have been fantastic; XCOM, Dishonoured, Borderlands 2, Halo 4. Great games still exist, they just don't have nostalgia there to cover up their flaws ;)
Lol had to be my favourite mission, loved it when the zombies were on the rampage. Me and my friend used to make a dash for the elevator. Once we called he elevator and by the time it reached us it was full of zombies xD. I really miss this series...

It was a perfect and promising start for the game. Great level, great experience and music. There was other few great levels, but not all of them.
i love timesplitters ;( good game about it
Totally agreed. 18 years later and I can still go back and play this level and have a great time.
as an outsider who just played this game for the first time recently, you definitely have your rose tinted nostalgia goggles on lol still a great game, especially for the time but nothing about this game screamed "best singleplayer experience ever" to me
They perfected golden eye dam with this level.
2023 and here after hearing about the shutdown this game will forever be in my heart loved this game
It will come back.
"/C3rn" if you get what i mean👀
When you get trapped in the room and the zombies wake up, that was always creepy, no matter how many times I played it,
Memories :')
Haha yeah my hands is shaking right now. Aaah like the good old days
+James'Filmz The flaming zombies!
First time I played the game (Probably 10 or 11 ) I skipped the cutscene and so when the zombies popped in I was caught off guard.
This is so good I dont understand how this has not won dozens of awards. Its a masterpiece.
3:21 to the end is just so beautiful
Hell yeah
It’s the reason I’m here lol
For sure, this is the best moment of this song, how the entire song it builds up to this amazing tune.
These guys knew how to create an atmosphere. One can only hope that similarly talented designers and artists do the same for modern gaming.
Goddamn I miss the PS2 days. This soundtrack alone is a piece of underrated gaming history. now whenever I play The Humane Labs Heist in GTA 5 I switch to First person and play this in the background to bring back that Timesplitters feeling again
Hey! That's bad word....
So many memories... Waiting for Timesplitters Rewind
Ivan Chicharro
Still waiting 4 years later! :(
Rejoice, fellow gamers, for the TimeSplitters IP has been bought by a new developer!
@@Dartanius100 We're almost there, the games in it's testing/bug fix and polishing phase now.
9 years later and we still patiently waiting ;)) time splitters 4 is even in the works
The company working on it " Free Radical " was closed Dec 2023, the game is not only cancelled, the IP is locked as well.@@GLEEKY-zv8yk
Who else spent hours with there co op partner working out tactics to complete on hard
I beat it solo on hard
✋🏽lol
I got this game for my 10th Birthday, It was the best birthday gift EVER.

So many memories. Had tons of maps I created to enjoy with my siblings. This game is gold..😭
luqman farhanah Same man, same. So sad we will never get this feeling back.
Ditto. Nowadays all the extra maps and the various modes of the game would all to taken out and sold off individually as DLC. I am so grateful that my brother and myself grew up with games long before microtransactions and DLC infected gaming.
I get kinda emotional listening to this =((
What a time to be alive for gaming haha. This series had so much potential. I could still play Ts2 to this day
Ryan Lauer I am playing it right now! Emulators :)
Jokes on you I have the actual physical game and I can play it.
uh, so do I. thanks
Legit golden eye vibes
I got this game for my GameCube when I was about 8 and I remember the zombies horrified me so the only way I could play the level was if I thought of the zombies as a bunch of drunk unarmed guards. ahh the memories...
Memories hit me harder than that sniper on top of the dam.
"Nikolai... the light."
I was scared shitless when i first played this level.
4:14 still gives me chills.
3:20 gives me goosebumps, fuck i miss this game.
The good old days. A part of my life. I will do not forget this feeling. Its a freedom! This game is one of my favorite 5 games ever.
Classic! This level proved to be a stellar introduction to a fantastic game.
Am I the only one that thinks this game beat golden eye back then
There is something so melancholic about this song.
It's amazing... I have not heard this in years, yet I can hum just about every note..
The best soundtrack I have ever listened in the history of my childhood since the day it releases, I stopped playing and listened it that glorious song.
ending of the song is just priceless
This game was adesome! First level music is epic! It will be wrote in my memory forever
I played TimeSplitters 2 for the first time yesterday and had an eargasm with this amazing tune, it reminded me of the good old gaming days (GoldenEye 007) when developers were actually concerned about delivering a more than decent soundtrack, along with a fun gameplay. Oh god the nostalgia ... i still remember those zombies waiking up ... it give me nightmares , good old memories .
Second sight 😍
'Stupid torch, does nothing in this army work?'
In Soviet Russia equipment use you
The best thing about Timesplitters is we make our own set-pieces. Things like CoD and BF3 drag you along with exploding buildings, all TS needs is co-op and we're done.
so many memories.
i've played the demo disc (siberia level) through my youth for at least 200 times.
Second Sight - Isolation Theme
Will never stop loving everything about this game... ahh the memories.
Holy shit you actually had the ENTIRE ost uploaded?? You’re the BEST! God I miss this game.
We need a trilogy HD remake or something. Please :(
Hey buddy just hold on there is a new vlog video on TimeSplitter Rewind. So that's mean that project is alive !
This guy link????

Stefan Kainz what about second sight 2 🙏🙏🙏
this music........... ominous and dark, i use it when i go to the ancient caverns in runescape, it fits with the background so well..... this music screams "dark underground caverns of untold dangers"
Close Your Eye's,Play Sound Track With Playstation Controller In Hand and Let The Memories Flood You
TimeSplitters 2 is my favorite game of all timesplitters ^-^
Future perfect is better imo.
Me too
The reason how I found out about timesplitters when I was like 8 years old was because when I bought my ps2 it came with a demo disc named jam pack and there was where I discover timesplitters

KMS2K I have to agree with you.
Did not think the date of the release.
I miss old games so much,i mean just imagine the atmosphere while hearing at this masterpiece,I miss the days when games had good music..pfff People of Rare so fucking talented btw..
So true
'It's all up to me now'
Still love this game, song, i'm still playing that game and it's old but gold!! xDDD
The Radio woman who gives the announcement was kinda creepy awesome when she said "No Foreign bodies detected releasing lockdown" "Attention Attention Biological weapon has failed in a Research contamination"
By the fact it is true and difficult at the hard mode xD
Oh Timesplitters a good game, and In have a Disc of timesplitters oh my god :( Memoryes
ok i found it, the music thats been in my head, still studying music and guitar and this song was buried deep in my brain from my late teens and reactivated, Its Phrygian mode
Did the exact same, but with my sister weirdly enough xD It's the only one she'd wanna play when I always wanted to play Notre Dame :)
I just get an amazing feeling whenever I hear this always puts a smile on my face I played this so much as a kid I always played coop Siberia always scared me lol
Graeme Norgate is composer of all TimeSplitters franchise.
Time Splitters Remaster/Remake when? and don't forget about the map editor 👀
Funnest level that I have ever played in gaming history
So much memories
Timesplitter Zombies were the best. They weren't like CoD Zombie where they die easily, TS Zombies wouldn't die until you hit their heads, I once spent ten minutes jus trying to kill one zombie. Nikolai, Sgt Shivers, Lt Frost, Trooper Black, and Captain Snow represent!
Still have it on my gamecube
i do to, but it's gotten scratched :(
I also have it on PS2! It's not in the best condition, but it works.
PS2 isn't set up right now though
I used to play this level over and over. The others were good but never lived up to this beast.
This song always went well with the bobing up and down of the weapons on screen.
"ATTENTION. ATTENTION! Biological containment has failed in the research facility. Special forces have been deployed. All unidentified personel WILL be eliminated."
When I was younger I nearly shit my pants when I heard that lmao
Best game EVARRRRRRRRR!!!
NO FOREIGN BODIES DETECTED...RELEASING LOCKDOWN
The legendary "dee dee doo doo doo" Soundtrack
I never got around to buying the full game, but as a kid I completed the PS2 demo of the siberia level over a million times, man how nostalgic this feels :)
Did you find the helicopter boss fight exploit that can only be done in the demo?
When you get the fight to start, if you immediately go back into the elevator you can go down to ground level and fight the boss there :-)
Hmm no I never tried that, the demo would always end when i hopped into one of the turrets. Gonna give it a try, thx :)
there was a magic with TS2 that was missing form future perfect (which is still great btw)
Yeah same. FP is a great game but what it lacked from 2 was the cool level design between each different time periods and the atmospheric music and tone of the levels. A lot of FP's story levels looked very samey and music wasn't that memorable either. Some of the multiplayer maps have good tracks though like disco and spaceport
Easily one of the greatest opening levels for any video game ever
Nikolai iintro scared me when I was younger, but man this is the latest fps to this day which had a soul! Amazingly well made game
Love the ending part of this song :-) so beautiful.
Definitely the best soundtrack to any video game
This music is so beautiful
Any one else think their disc was fucked when the steam pressure announcement was weird and you realised you blew up the speakers
I remeber playing this as a kid such a good game steam pressure at 66%
SO much memories in this song ♥
"You shouldn't be down here without security clearance!"
This theme.....this theme....ah man. The memories!!! Love this one!
Ahhh that nostalgia
I'm never buying a Crytek game again. They bought up Free Radical and closed there studio down. Because of that Timeplitters is dead and buried. Oh well, Crysis is shit anyway. The only mildly inventive game they created was Far Cry and they sold it to Ubisoft.
I'd be happy with a HD version, or a collection would be epic :P
Steam pressure at 66 %
Steam pressure at 33 %
Steam pressure at zero %
*-* BESTE GAME EVER
I got this game in 1st grade for my birthday now im going into 10th and i still love it so many memories
the zombies scared me as a kid (the intro mostly) but even then i loved them they were awesome at first i got scared and started firing wildly but later i just fist fight them
Only thing i miss is the guards saying "HEY!"
Remember always doin this level over and over again on the hardest difficulty with my brother. We'd spend over 6 hours to complete half of the game.. ~:\
Sound of the Cold war.
Can't wait for ts4 announcement. WOOH!. Been playing timesplitters since ts1 release back in the year 2000
I love this song ... it brings the feeling of stealth and mysteriousness with an underlying hint of eeriness.

MASTERPIECE.
To name but a few new releases that have been fantastic; XCOM, Dishonoured, Borderlands 2, Halo 4. Great games still exist, they just don't have nostalgia there to cover up their flaws ;)
Damn, the feeder zombies used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid!
I remember 20+ years ago as a kid playing a demo disc that had final fantasy 10 and this game on it I thought this level was the coolest shit ever
I just realized that this theme and Second Sight's "Isolation" theme have the same melody
Memories...
The guard in the stairs grrrr
almost has a post apocalyptic feel to it. my fave track tho.
Her:" Special forces have been deployed "
Me: Piece of cake >:)
Love this song so much. Reminds me of playing on the ps2.
does anyone remember that damn room where you had to get the disc and you get locked in with the zombies?
Missed the game so much I had to but it back and TS Future Perfect. So many good memories on this game
this song was stuck in my head today :D
cool i'm really looking forward to it :)
TimeSplitters: the only FPS series where a bear in a vest will shoot lasers at gingerbread men and anthropomorphic ducks.
Perhaps the greatest piece of video game music ever created
Lol had to be my favourite mission, loved it when the zombies were on the rampage. Me and my friend used to make a dash for the elevator. Once we called he elevator and by the time it reached us it was full of zombies xD. I really miss this series...
Fair enough, well, at least you've found some new releases that you can enjoy :D
