- I forgot to add in the clips from Aveiro on our thoughts about the area so it's been added to the start of the Viseu vlog.
It seems to be the further north of Portugal we go, the more we like the places we see :) - we loved Viseu, could it be somewhere we come back for a good house hunt...?

Really enjoyed the tour. My rainy sort of place. What is the name of the song sampled if you don’t mind sharing ? Many thanks, Richard in Toronto
love your background music
Oh dear... I am Portuguese. My grandparents' house is in a small village outside of Viseu. I will not say the name of it, because I hope no tourists move there. But it's beautiful there, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, and with beautiful green rolling hills and valleys where the clouds nest early in the morning, and a meandering river with sparkling water shining in the sun. There is a church, a market, and a cafe, and a medical post. Close by, you can buy the most delicious meat sausages you ever tasted, home made according to old tradition. It's somewhere between Viseu and Castro Daire. The house has a huge balcony with a view of the mountains. You wake up and look out the window, and see that breathtaking view for miles all around, and smell the fragrant eucalyptus trees warmed by the sun, first thing in the morning. I hope no foreigners will discover it, because it;s prestine and clean and peaceful, and Portugal is being invaded by expats from all over the world, and they are finding every corner and crevice. It's nice when people visit, it's nice even when people want to buy a home or some land there, but please respect our country and keep it clean and peaceful. It's our country. It's small and humble, we don't have much. But our little garden from which we derive very much pride and joy. Not every Portugues person will say this, we are polite humble people, but I dare say it, because I don't want my beloved home to be taken for granted nor my motherland to becme like some of the places people are coming from. I hope you understand. Thank you, and please enjoy Portugal.
Thank you for sharing, we love Portugal :)
The bus station in Viseu is undergoing major renewals, that space is just temporary.
that makes a lot of sense!
Hi guys ! It's very interesting to see you going through the journey that we'll soon be on. We're looking at Viseu as a possible settling place and are going to watch the rest of your video, together, tonight, that is, my wife and I . We'll keep up with the two of you and your journey, to see how things unfold. We wish you all of the best. PS: We'll be there April to May 2023.
Thank you for your lovely comment! We did love Viseu, the countryside there is just beautiful the further out you go from the actual town is even more gorgeous 😍
Hi! I was wondering how you felt overall about access to everyday things like a doctor, a market, grocery stores, etc. Is everything fairly easily accessed in Viseu? Or do you have to travel a bit to get to the necessities? I'm also deciding if I want to move there. It just seems like there may not be much there. Gorgeous town though!
Hiya 🙂
The place we stayed in was about 10 mins car ride out of the main town, there was a few cafe's and one little shop selling groceries about 20 mins walk away. Doctors and markets are all in the main town so you'd have to drive in most likely for amenities. But also the big supermarkets are in the main town also, or closer to it.
Hi guys we are in portugal trying to figure out where we want to live. We were looking to see if Visue is even somewhere we wanted to visit. Looks like not Where did you end up? Did you find a place?
Hiya! I'd definitely say Viseu is worth a visit if it's somewhere you're considering, perhaps the villages just outside Viseu Town itself. The dreadful weather while we were there makes it look unpleasant I think...
We ended up about an hour's drive South of Viseu very close to Oliveira do Hospital :)
Did you buy something? We spent the day in Porto today but are an hour south. Looking for a river less than 50,000 pple, hills, not flat. outskirts of Amarante

I tried to buy a property near alpedrinha but the realtor sold it out from under me when I was there trying to get his lawyer to send the contract to my lawyer in Castlla branco, he never did sold it to someone else within a few days. Glad you bought. what realtor did you use? Are you applying for Residency now? Who are you using? CONGRATULATIONS..

I want to go on that coach to see the fancy driver
