If I'm understanding the question. The answer is, yes. When you set it to your code. You can open the door. If you don't want it to lock you can leave it set to your code. I strongly suggest to always close the door. closing the door prevents dirt and debris from getting in. especially on winter days if it rains and freezes over. you will have to wait until it thaws. I still recommend this latch. The only downfall is that the little slide door needs to be closed everetime. It's hard to get teenage kids to do that due to their laziness. The reason why I say it needs to be closed. Dirt or debris can get in and cause jamming. My experience when it was iced over the slide door was closed, and it was very easy to just tap on it.The ice breaks, and you're able to put in your code. Had the little door been left open? That would have been extremely complicated. If everything was frozed over. Thanks for watching 👍
I want to purchase this lock, but people complain that the combination is very hard to scroll through in the freezing cold. Have you experienced this issue?
I haven't experienced that problem. But I typically always keep the slide door closed. The only issue I have is my teenage kids who don't close the slide door. By keeping it close at all times, you prevent dust and bree and water freezing that can cause issues. If I ever experience issues , I will make a video to keep everyone updated. But as of now, all is good. Thank you for watching.
