Ok, I know everyone hated Eternals, but I loved it and as it was pointed out, that’s the film that finally showed an actual connection between activity out in the cosmos & how they could effect ppl & events on earth. So the stage has been set for that potentially, ppl were just too busy hating on the Eternals movie to notice it.
There is an issue with the idea that the MCU is growing stale and you mentioned it at the start - there is 50 years of lore to be introduced. If it's rushed, with character development not focused on, then you end up with the trash that the DCU and Sony are knocking out.
I think the MCU has to find a balance between mainstream fans and hardcore fans. The stories and characters you mentioned in the video, while totally awesome, are rather obscure and unknown to mainstream fans. With that, I feel that the MCU is progressing in that direction but they have to slowly introduce these concepts so as not to overwhelm and confuse their audience.
@@Britbaby961 yeah but try throwing the Annihilators, the Shi’Ar, Empress Lilandra, Vulcan, Gladiator & the Protectorate, the Skrull Empire, Spartax Empire, etc plus Galactus, his heralds, F4, GotG 2.0 team, Starjammers, Inhuman Royals, etc all into some cohesive storyline. It’ll take a lot of thought to pull off
@@ferrarriohh yeah obviously some characters/factions/celestial beings/etc. need a whole movie, or even a couple, to establish them. They just need to use what they have and expand upon it. Earth team- Moon Knight, Dr.Strange, Scarlett Witch, Hulk is still kicking around, Shang-Chi, Ms.Marvel, even a new Hawkeye and MORE Space team- Guardians, Thor (Odinson or Jane or both), Captain Marvel, Fantastic 4 (after they get a solo movie), Loki, Nova (after his solo movie) ^^^ That's plenty of material to write movies about in Phase 4
I think at this point having a “cohesive” story is going to be difficult we’re slowly being introduced to mystic heroes and now multidimensional while still exploring Gods in Thor 4.
Feels like we’re going in multiple directions. The cosmic direction (Guardians, The Marvel’s, Eternals, etc) the mystic direction (Dr Strange, Wanda, maybe Moon Knight) and the “Street Level” direction (Cap, Hawkeye, Young Avengers, She Hulk, Daredevil, etc) I could be wrong here but it feels like that by going multiple routes they can elevate more stories and no focus on one singular angle based on whatever rights they hold. Obviously the Fox properties through a wrinkle into this but it still fits. Just my two cents though and all completely valid points. Big fan btw!
this echo my sentiments too..I love seeing variety and phase 4 is turning out to be the most diverse in terms of storytelling and directions that they are going in.
My ideal future for the MCU is one in which we have Fantastic Four and Nova and such movies that take place entirely in space/other planets, meanwhile the Earth-based movies deal with the new Mutant phenomena.
There’s really nothing to compare the MCU to. They are the first successful comic cinematic universe, so they are literally making the mistakes that come with being the first. All constructive criticism is welcome but the hate it gets is unjustified.
First of all, I don't think the buildup of Kang the Conqueror is a problem at all. His way was paved in Loki season I. He's gonna be in Ant-Man and Wasp Quantummania and I'm certain he's gonna pop up in mid or post credit scenes in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness and Thor Love and Thunder. I believe that you've got to start looking at Kang paving the way for Doctor Doom like Loki paved the way for Thanos. What Earth based villain in Marvel gets any bigger than Doctor Doom? And since all this multiverse stuff going on and alternate, variant versions of heroes and villains popping up, there's no doubt that we're heading towards Secret Wars and Battleworld in the MCU.
LaTrone Latham exactly. People are under this misconception that Kang is the next Thanos of the upcoming 10 years and I just highly doubt it. You think they’d introduce that character immediately after Thanos? You’re exactly right; Kang is the Loki/transitional phase villain. He’s the main villain of Phase 4, but he’s not THE guy long term. That title imo undoubtedly goes to Doom, especially given the fact they’re clearly gonna build to Secret Wars
@@rileyribble6733 Thanks Riley Ribble! Maybe you already have, but you've got to check out Tay @KindaCulty videos about this very subject. With the videos I linked to this, he proves without a shadow of a doubt that all this multiverse stuff and variants we've seen in Avengers Endgame, Loki season 1, What If.... Spider-Man No Way Home and now Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is leading to Secret Wars. And Kang is gonna be huge, but he's setting up Doctor Doom. ruclips.net/video/Kj00xAdVbVE/видео.html
With Kevin Feigie saying he's "going to an MCU creative retreat to plan out the next 10 years of MCU stories" it's safe to say we're getting more of all angles of the Marvel Universe. There's so much to dig into.
Galactus doom kingpin mephisto those are the theats for the upcoming teams that we are going to get in the mcu I don’t think we are going to have one big bad we might get multiple
Mephisto for the magic characters. Kang/ Galactus for the Cosmic characters and Dr Doom for the earth based mainline characters. The evolution of the MCU lies in having multiple Thanos level threats to unify the different tiers of characters Marvel has to offer but the MCU is currently in an internal battle with ideologues who aren't actual fans of the stories they're being paid to shepard and are just all doing thier own thing more concerned with subverting expectations and getting likes on Twitter to tell a multi-layered unifying plotlines that are true to the source material.
If there's one thing the past Fantastic Four films hasn't done that the MCU can do is make the F4 space explorers. Like make them the Star Trek crew of the MCU. The Earth is already loaded with heroes old and new. Time to expand to new areas.
The fantastic four can work with almost any element in the MCU, space, microverse, multiverse, earth base storys ( on the surface or underground). They have had about every type of story in their comic run there shouldn't be anything they can't work with to set them apart from the others and still feel connected.
the fantastic four would be a great way to expand the mcu cosmos with annihilous and galactus. captain marvel can do so with the kree. the x-men could introduce the shi-ar, phallanx and the brood.
Regarding Hulk vs. Gladiator, Hulk has 2 things going for him. 1, he's hard to take out completely, and 2, he keeps getting stronger the longer the fight goes on. If Gladiator doesn't know about item #2, I can see him starting to question his ability to beat Hulk, which would only hasten his loss since his power level is based on his confidence. He's start wondering why hulks hits are having more of an effect on him, which would snowball into a worry that his confidence level isn't what he thinks it is, which in turns weakens him and allows Hulk to deal even more damage. Vicious cycle.
@@tharukkus I agree sometimes I feel like rob just doesn't know what he is saying or he just doesn't hear himself talk to hear the stupidity that comes out of his mouth sometimes.
I think we’ve been to space a lot. I think Thor 4, The Marvels and Guardians 3 will take us to space more. I like your idea for the Fantastic Four. The MCU might be figuring out how to introduce mutants as well and that may bring focus back to earth before it expands to the Shi’ar Empire. I would love to see the Imperial Guard though.
I've always loved the Marvel Cosmic Universe ever since I was a kid, from Silver Surfer to Nova, the Shiar Empire to the Kree, I'd love to see more of it in the MCU. This is why I've enjoyed the Guardians and Ragnarok so much, just crazy shit happening on other planets in colourful worlds, wacky looking aliens and cool looking space ships. My favourite seasons of Agents of SHIELD were when they were in space. The way comics put a spin on the sci-fi theme is just so different to Star Trek, Star Gate and Star Wars, etc, it's just so much fun.
One thing about having multiple storylines that I can't stand (and I think most ppl hate) is when a villain does something in the marvel universe on an earth scale only to have a few heroes show up to stop it (its main heroes from the stories). Examples would be Iron Man 3 and The Eternals. Where was the other heroes? Standing around with their thumbs up their butts? Same with No Way Home too. I loved that movie. Saw it three times at the theater but... where were the other heroes?
I'll agree with The Eternals. The stakes were too big not to be noticed by other heroes. The only explanation I could think of is that things were happening too fast for any of the other heroes to react. For Iron Man 3, the Avengers separated ways after The Battle of New York so I can understand the others staying away but its definitely questionable that Captain America or SHIELD didn't show up. The only explanation I could think of is that the US government explicitly told them to stay out of it. For No Way Home, we have Doctor Strange in the movie so I wouldn't complain about other heroes not showing up. From the scenes we've seen him in since Infinity War, New York is essentially his turf so I think other heroes would be confident that he could handle it alongside Spider-Man. Except for the final act, most of the action was low to mid level stakes so it definitely didn't warrant calling in other heroes.
I really want a scene in one of these movies where a hero grabs his cell phone and calls other heroes but it goes to voicemail, or a cutaway cameo where the hero's fighting one of their own villains and says "Sorry man, I'm busy." Then for one of the stingers the hero checks his phone and his voicemail is filled with messages recorded by the other actors saying "sorry. You still need help?" "What it I miss?"
I always thought the big mistake Marvel and the MCU made was not incorporating Carol Danvers/CM into a more cosmic role with the GotG or Nova Corps. Her costume update even looks like a Nova Corps suit. It’d fit with her role as a Starjammer crew member during her Binary years.
@@fearless3073 Fox Studios, as I believe the starjammers were introduced in X-Men, although I think almost all space races originally appear in fantastic four, but either way Fox, hence why thanoswas the only space villain we could really use, he was one of the few we had use of.
The cosmic part was always my favorite part of Marvel [ditto for the supernatural part of DC] and Dan Abnett was a big part of that. He made everything so much more interesting. Loved it.
So the expansion of "Space" has already been in place. During Phase 4/5 Marvel already annouced they are gonna split the universe into Terran, and Celestial stories with a bit of crossover like Secret Wars and Marvels. Nova base story has been released and other Content Creators have already done vids to touch on these Off worl escapades. SSU has also released a few sotry boards on upcoming ideas and things already in the works, utilizing the MCU Multiverse. A lot of this information has been on the web for weeks, so Im not even sure why this video was made.
The Imperial Guard was the main force of The Sh'air led By Gladiator, Himself. I wouldn't mind seeing Gladiator show up but only during the X-Men Saga in the MCU.
The main thing that drew me into the MCU was the consistently great cast of characters and for better part compelling storytelling. The recent movies have felt very soulless and haven’t been able to make me care about the story they’re trying to tell. Much prefer the direction they’re going with the TV series, but feeling quite pessimistic about the newer movies on the roster in general.
The one thing that would fix the mcu is set solid rules. After Dr Strange there seems to be just stuff going on with no defined rules of power or consequences. This removes any investment.
I think you have to credit Keith Giffen & Andy Schmidt with the initial Annihilation concept. Abnett was brought on & took over, but Giffen was the initial guy.
Lmfao, it's similar cause Starlin himself wrote those troupes and went to Epuc when marvel would t let him write how he wanted. The same as when Kirby wrote New Gods for DC, it was just the Eternals story he was never allowed to tell.
Epic Comics’ Dreadstar, by Jim freakin’ Starlin has all the space opera! I’d hope that could be adapted, but it’s so similar to other properties I’d now advise against it.
Yeah I'm pretty sure people love Infinity War and Endgame and Thanos is one of the best villains of all time sometimes I think Comic Book people have a hard time separating the book from the adaptation
They do, I used to have this problem as a kid back in the day, but realized you are dealing with two different forms of media so it's not going to be one-to-one.
Eternals was a Great Movie, I still don’t understand how so many people disliked it. Talk about a movie being boring… the justice league Snyder cut was literal torture for me to watch, but has way higher scores then eternals lol
I enjoyed Eternals too... it was very different to what the MCU has previously produced and people apparently don't like change. While it hasn't been initially accept with open appraisal, I think it will age well and people will appreciate it more as time goes by.
@@Nemoticon yeah it was very different. Less funny and less character focused overall. They also build on infinity war and the character of Thanos in making everything about a serious phylosophical question. What I really cant wrap my head around ar all those youtube critics who were complaining about the mcu being all the same and in need of change. But with eternals that is exactly what they critize...
@@leobruch3697 Forget them, they just didn't get it. Eternals was simply more mature, more story driven and with a refreshingly different visual style. I still like all the other productions, but the difference is the others are like pop songs whereas Eternals is like a carefully crafted composition.
I believe the plan going forward is to expand the space opera part of the MCU and the street-level part as well. No one in the MCU is talking about the celestial in the ocean because Eternals was our last film. And both Hawkeye and Moon Knight are self-contained stories in their own part of the MCU. I imagine it’ll come up again at some point, probably Wakanda Forever.
Both, Both are good. I want more street level perspectives in terms of earth based stories, but would love to see bigger wars to happen in space and possible the beyonders.
I would LOVE to see Gladiator, Beta Ray Bill and the Silver Surfer introduced into the MCU. I would love to see a Silver Surfer tv show similar to the underrated Silver Surfer cartoon in the 90’s. He could later get involved with the F4 and eventually bring in Galactus far down the road. Also, imagine that during the blip, Doctor Doom was removed and when he came back, he came back to the people of Latveria who no longer need him see him as their ruler/protector and he has to take back that rule. That would be awesome and introduce his amazing character into the MCU.
How about bringing back Agents of Shield to address the cosmic side of things? Considering they have involvement with aliens, pair them up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and it might be the start of something.
Thank you Dan Abnett/ Jonathan Hickman for everything you give us Cosmic fans. Abnetts versions deserved to get told in movie form. All Hail Annihilus. Weilder of the “Cosmic Rod” Lord of the Negative Zone!!! Also how about the intergalactic war in Hickmans “Infinity” where we see our Earth heroes travel to space to fight alongside the Kree/ Skrull/ Spartoi/ Shi-Ar and many more against the collapse of the multiverse. That would be AMAZING!
I think the MCU desperately needs x-men. They’re essentially the Pathos (rhetoric) in this universe. They can get more artistic and dramatic with the core concepts of mutants. I would actually prefer to see more psychological thrillers, drama, romance than action packed films. While I didn’t think it was amazing, I actually liked New Mutants…. And think that style could open up new doors for the MCU audience. I grew up with X-men and have a strong connection with that part of Marvel and would love to see it be done well this time around.
Yea, I actually liked New Mutants. While flawed, of course, I like the concept. They just gotta get the execution down better, if they went that route. Like, there's so many different types of characters and stories. Every MCU movie doesn't need to be a simple action adventure movie. Even though they're so-called "doing something different", they're really not. The movies are still just simple action adventure movies, now just with a different theme (space, asian, african, wahman, etc).
Why can't people understand that the movies are not comics? Movies rely on various factors that make some types of stories kind of complicated to produce. You can write and draw whatever the hell you want on paper. Movies, however, that's a whole different beast. They need more planning. The MCU has been successful because of how personal and grounded it has been. Because of how well they've written their characters how they've prioritized character development over anything else. Not because of unreasonable displays of power that devalue the content. The action and the fights are cool, but that's not the essence of the MCU. It's crazy to me that over 10 years have passed and people still don't get that. Do you think Cap lifting the hammer and Kicking Thanos' ass for a couple of moments would have worked under comic book logic? No, it wouldn't have. It worked in the movie because there was precedence, there's character implications behind it, and most importantly, because the MCU is more grounded. If anything, I'm glad the MCU hasn't gone the outlandish, over-exagerated comic book route.
You REALLY should dive a little deeper into your "research" about these characters. You said Kallark (that's Gladiator by the way) Could take out the Avengers by himself. I guess you didn't know he fought Thor three times one on one (both Thor AND Eric Masterson). Thor was fought to a standstill both times with neither demonstrating a clear advantage over the other and as for Eric Masterson (who was new to being Thor at the time and totally clumsy with Mjolnir) BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF HIM! This was after Gladiator punched Wonder Man through a planet. As for the Hulk, They fought (and you even showed the issue where they fought but conveniently left out Hulk beat Kallark). Gladiator even uses his Vision (I was going to call it "Atomic Vision" but I believe that designation belongs to Hyperion's version) on Hulk but he kept regenerating. Hulk eventually dragged Gladiator inside a nuclear reactor which resonated a frequency of radiation Gladiator was vulnerable to (in case anyone doesn't know, Gladiator can be defeated in 2 ways; one being the aforementioned wavelength of radiation which means Monica Rambeau can take him out. The other is his level of power is based on his confidence level. Shake his confidence and you got a shot at taking him down. He was knocked out by the Invisible Woman because of this. In fact, both his vulnerability to radiation AND his confidence dependability were BOTH exposed in the same issue of the Fantastic Four. The issue #'s escape me, but it was a 2 part story entitled "Man & Superman". THAT I remember) and of course BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF HIM. Point #2: You mentioned the Annihilators being able to beat Thanos sans Infinity Gauntlet. Guess you didn't know Thanos beat the Silver Surfer at least twice one on one (including literally beating the Surfer to death with his bare hands). Also Thanos took on the entire team of Annihilators BY HIMSELF and beat them all (yes we're talking Norrin, Bill, Kallark...do I even need to name the rest? Thanos beat a Superman clone, a Thor Clone AND the Silver Surfer himself BY himself along with the other members). All with NO infinity Gauntlet. I understand you're trying to make points based on your opinion, but facts (conveniently ignored, dismissed or worse unknown to you) trump those opinions. All I'm saying is if you're going to give your opinions in a "matter of fact" manner, just make sure the facts back up your opinions, not dispel them. Anyone racing over here to cape for him (pun intended), DON'T. He can defend himself. Also before you do, please key in on the last thing I stated. Then if you're still in your emotions, come at me.
Another thing Rob is that there will be alot of world building that needs to happen in the MCU so I think for awhile it will not be like the first 10 years leading up to a Thanos but shorter arcs aimed at developing the wider universe so when big bads are introduced it feels organic.
I just want to know how they're going to recon moondragon since she's drax's kid. I mean other then just not mention that part of her origin which would be a bummer.
I think we are seeing a sort of checks and balances being created. Science checked by Mysticism checked by Mutants checked by Science. We just haven't seen the Mutants yet. It's the long game that will, for a very long time, bring fresh heroes and villains to the Marvel Universe. Personally, I'd like to see additions to the movie world other than DC and Marvel with labels like Dreadstar from Epic Comics. Dreadstar... that would be something awesome to cover sometime!
Here's what I think. All the MCU shows Disney+ are building to the Young Avengers. Sadly, I think they are holding off on space exploring and such until after Ant Man 3. I also think we may get the intro to the FF in ant man. We've already been teased about FF in spider man 2. Also... I think they are building to Knull. There's been subtle hints about him. Like Nowhere. That's a celestial head that was chopped off. I think they are SLOWLY building different aspects for the future of the MCU. I have no problem with long term storytelling. I think it's great to keep us on our toes.
Videos like this make me wish with all my heart that Kevin F or someone at Marvel Studios is subscribed to your channel, Rob. This is a great point and could upgrade everything.
I prefer the street level side of marvel over the space/cosmic side of marvel because they have better individual stories like daredevil, punisher, jessica jones and them because they deal with lesser threats
I think he’s right that doesn’t need to be a change of pace and the space aspect is one way to do that to take things off of earth to show us truly powerful people and the X-Men or a new angle on heroism.
Kang isn't going to be a "big, overarching villain" like Thanos was. Hes going to have projects that he's a part of that he's the villain for. Weren't getting anything like Thanos ever again (unless we get The Beyonder in Secret Wars).
This is a click bait title, the whole video is just I want the Shi'ar Empire in the MCU which is cool but this is not something the MCU needs to fix and in terms of the gods and other cosmic characters, we just had the Celestials in Eternals, the Egyptian gods in Moon Knight, Thor: Love and Thunder is coming which has a god serial killer as its villain and is set in space, The Marvels will probably be dealing with some cosmic villains and the Guardians of the Galaxy have 2 more solo projects before they are finished before we even get the Fantastic Four
The GotG movie was already in the works when Bendis started his run. He was put on the book to make the brands align, the movie isn't based on his books.
I definitely feel it’s time to expand the MCU into the whole realm of the “space opera”. Which I think is where they are taking it. I also feel that the notion of any conflict that doesn’t have the planet or universe at stake is “filler”. That sentiment could destroy the MCU faster than anything. Character focused stories have always been the sure thing (when done right)
The MCU will definitely get stale. I’m sure the comics had that issue too. Actually, any long-lasting franchise is going to have to contend with that. I think the MCU has to contend with the mass culture, where humans & earth are the dominant factor. That’s gonna make it difficult to do stuff that takes it far from earth, because you have to humanize all the aliens to keep the masses invested. Like, humans are already racist to each other, it’s not a leap to assume they would be even worse with aliens. The comics have to deal with that a bit less I think, because they aren’t as mainstream.
Biggest thing for me they need to sort is every movie or TV series ending with a duel between two characters with pretty much exactly the same powers and abilities and/or a mass CGI battle against generic identical looking monsters. That's what is getting stale for me. Moon Knight has been a breath of fresh air but I still think the finale will end up being like this.
That’s why I enjoyed Loki’s ending so much. It wasn’t really about a huge battle but a major decision that was mentally and emotionally taxing for the main characters involved. It felt like a breath of fresh air for me personally.
Last phrase we got Three big main villains Loki, Ultron, and Thanos I'm saying this to say Kang can be the next Loki or the next Ultron he doesn't necessarily have to the the Biggest bad he can be the smaller one that leads up to someone like Galactus
I feel like the MCU has become progressively unfocused since the pandemic started. I can’t tell if they want to focus on the multiverse or going into deep space to confront the cosmic authority of the universe. The fact that MoM and LaT are releasing so close to each other and with those two different narratives in play really makes it feel unfocused.
Well the thing is, there’s so many different corners of Marvel comics to explore, so not all of it is going to become abundantly focused on one storyline, especially not right away. For the time being there’s gonna be a lot of mini storylines. The earth side, cosmos, the supernatural. But eventually, yearrrrrrs down the road, everything will cross in a big way. Aka Secret Wars with Dr. Doom as the main antagonist
In the end its a business. We (hardcore) fans, must accept they will make it a way that attract people to watch it, no matter how well they know marvel.
@@erik_hirsch If you have a hard on for her say it.. She sucks her acting is atrocious every movie she has been in she over does it like she's actually talented when she is the furthest thing from talent, I tried to watch captain marvel 4 times and i passed out each time barely 30 minutes in. The one scene where she screams at the skrull made me want throw my tv out the window. There are so many other female actors that would be 1000 times better than her.
Best line in comics starlord and nova vs Thanos. "When death is standing there screaming in your face, yell back!" The problem with the MCU is this they’ve had opportunities to do these expansions and they’ve pissed him away. Thor Ragnarok is a perfect example. The Eternals is a perfect example. Both of those films could have expanded so much.. but instead they gave us a bunch of bro jokes and turn great characters into jokes now they’re going to have to pay the piper for that, unless they can right the ship. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of madness is a great opportunity to do that, also Thor love and thunder presents a great opportunity to give us a very unique villain. But we’ll see what happens
Hey, I've subbed your Comics Explained for a few years now. Been missing out on this Channel! I think you're totally on point! I got into Marvel Comics late, in my latter 30's (I grew up in UK so I'm an old 2000ad fan). Your Channel helped me know what I wanted to read & what I didn't, so much. But before that, after the beginning of the end of MCU Infinity arc (Infinity War) I knew it was the Space stories that would hold my interest. I think it would be a disaster if at least Kree & Skrulls don't see more on screen exposition, but I LOVE Silver Surfer - brilliant books. I wait with baited breath to see a silver streak in an end credit scene. Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks, Rob, for the awesome content. I recently tried to sign up for Marvel Insider but I live in New Zealand & can't. You're my Marvel Insider, anyway! I'd love to see a Comics Explained Silver Surfer character feature video...
Marvel concluded the best story they could ever tell up until endgame. The people they are hiring for writing these days are mostly incapable of telling those stories you just talked about. Doctor strange 2 was a complete cosmic mess.
Give it time bro let them grow. You’ve been making more an more opinion conspiracy theory based videos bro. The ink on the fox deal has been dry. But it takes time. Relax man. Integrating and expand isn’t as easy as you make it sound. Relax. More news to come soon. Jus allow it to play out and enjoy. You’ll be pretty surprised at what’s to come.
@@zackhenderson138 love his videos but man he’s jus theory crafting at this point. You can feel the passion he has for the marvel ips as a whole but dude jus chill lol.
I left this comment on a newer video but I wanted to put it here: I have a video request. I just was re-watching some of endgame and I had one line stick out to me about captain marvel. When asked about why they weren't helping with Thanos, or fights before that, she said something to the effect of that there are bigger threats. Of course she couldn't mean Kang because she wouldn't have known about that. She could have meant the eternals or celestials but she's not in guardians or thor as far as we know. So to reference this video, they need to elaborate on this in the next movie - could actually save this character and set up a better story for the MCU going forward. By showing what those threats are like the imperial guard. Just a thought.
I'm actually not a big fan of the space-faring, cosmic Marvel stuff. I prefer the more grounded earth-based stories. I hope we get more of those kinds of stories when the mutants arrive. However, Marvel DOES need a big bad to build to. My thoughts would be Kang (because he's already been introduced and can be a problem throughout time). But after Kang I'd LOVE to see Dr. Doom. Now I love Doom so I admit my bias. But Doom and his ascension to God Emperor Doom (in Secret Wars) would be a great way to connect the earth-bound AND cosmic sides of the MCU.
The Brood! The brood would be a great introduction to the space opera, because…um….THE BROOD! (I remember the brood and thinking omfg Xmen just jumped the shark…now it’s superheroes and aliens? Me and a hundred other comic nerds were like “gimme a break Marvel!! This is Sadzz.) Then I saw the Wolverine/Brood cover! Omfg! I had finally found my full back tatoo!
It'd be so sick if Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill showed up in Thor : Love and Thunder . In a super surprise reveal no one sees coming!🥳🥳🥳😆😁🤣. We party if that happens!
I think X-Men and FF being introduced make for an interesting venture. On the the one hand, there are a lot of space adventures to be had by them, but also, just seeing their lives at the home front is also intriguing. I certainly want to see more characters flying through space and to other planets, but I never want to leave earth well enough alone, because that would also be boring. Plus, that leaves plotholes for "but what about other invasions or takeovers by domestic supervillains?"
That’s the thing, I think there’s still so much to explore. Personally, I can’t imagine MCU content getting state. Maybe I’m just an optimistic fanboy? But there’s still so much to look forward to.
Like when the Infinity Gauntlet comic came out, they introduced all the cosmic beings to the world (on the big stage so to speak). This was the time during the MCU Infinity saga to do the same and they did not. At the least they could have made generic Celestrials to join the battle representing the upper cosmic side of things. This would have opened up the doors to all other cosmic aspects of the MCU. But now it all seems stupid when you have to ask the question of "Why did no larger entity act when Thanos had the stones?" If the Celestials would have acted, all beings below them would have had the excuse that it was assumed the Celestials could handle it. Also it seems the MCU has already established that the term Celestrial is a catch all for powerful beings (as they grouped Ego into it and that is not what he is). By going small for the Infinity Saga, it causes more problems for the future. I think so at least.
You make a very strong case for the introduction of the Space Opera and it’s players. I think the MCU will have to go there and I think they will. The only issue they will face is patience. Phase one started with the risky endeavor of Iron Man and his antagonist was a disgruntled senior officer in his company. Flash forward to where Tony Stark ended up…snapping the Infinity Gauntlet to defeat Thanos and his minions. Quite a journey from Stane to Thanos. If we are at the start of the next wave, The MCU will slowly bring all the pieces together through movies and streaming series into another Endgame and after that do it all over again for yet another End Game. It’s success is what will hamstring it until it makes it there, like you said, it’s feeling stale. No one except Feige and his story tellers knew what was in store after Iron Man. People dismissed Thor the Dark World until Loki and the full character development of Thor. There are going to be filler stuff but once we get to the third act of this phase, there will be important stuff in those filler projects that flesh out the entire arc.
Bruh, sometimes nerds should just be happy with what we got now.. 10 years ago you wouldn’t even be able to have this conversation about live action comic book movies.. it’d just be more shitty dceu type movies like xmen apocalypse. Just be patient and let the story grow naturally without the urges to rush things
They should have 3 entirely seperated story lines Earth based story with Thunderbolt and political stuff Cosmic level story with Cellestials Timelines and multiverse story with Kang
You should def get in contact with Marvel and DC studios to help assist in the “research” maybe direction as well depends but I feel the people brought into a project should look at your channel and comics explained. Truly awesome!
If I had to guess, I'd say that a lot of doors will be opened in love and thunder. It's a space faring tale, and involves a lot of different planets and races.
It's kinda early for this. We haven't gotten secret invasion yet. Guardians 3 and Thor 4 are coming. Nova just got confirmed. And we don't know what Loki season 2 is gonna look like yet. The MCU has only really been back for a few years after endgame. I say give it a little more time. Especially with ticket sales not being what they were pre-pandemic. I think this year is super important to what MCU movie budgets will look like after this year.
i think we’re just about done with strictly earth faring stuff for now, as the next slate of films (starting next year) is related to the guardians and captain marvel. even thor 4, as you said, seems to be sending us along the cosmos again. also, disney plus is releasing more earthbound series’ for the people that prefer that side of the mcu. am pretty excited.
They need to build the new stories off the storylines they began and hint at the new big bad. Building characters and sprinkling in details to link the movies and shows together.
Honestly feel like the movies (besides maybe Shang Chi and Homecoming) skipped over all the street level stuff and left it to the shows. I think it'd be cool if the mcu built up its space opera but i also would love movies focused on the street level heroes and their great stories. Loved Hawkeye as a personal story, didn't have to worry about shattered dimensions, the destruction of earth or multiversal threats. Just got to see our favorite archer deal with his past and make it home in time for christmas

Hello
Amazing video.
Well the voice actor Kentish David want to play beta ray bill so that could lead to a space opera
A Walking Talking C- 😭🤣🤣🤣😭
I want to see how Moon Knight interacts with the other big screen heroes, without taking away the screen time of the banter of Marc's personalities
Im imagining a quick conversation between 4-5 characters with whip pans, except 2 of those characters are mark and stephen lol
I wouldn't be surprised if when interacting with others we just see him talking to himself constantly
then add Deadpool to the mix.
@@mortagon1451 - no, because then its too predictable and thus cliche.
@@DismemberTheAlamo Deadpool and moon knight are the LAST people I’d consider predictable
There is an issue with the idea that the MCU is growing stale and you mentioned it at the start - there is 50 years of lore to be introduced. If it's rushed, with character development not focused on, then you end up with the trash that the DCU and Sony are knocking out.
Marvel has some of the best character development are u dumb. Just look at the disney plus shows
Yes
Exactly!! Please do not rush anything. It has to be built up to for it to mean the most.
Character development can happen in space too...
Yeah totally agree! DCU and Sony want to create stories with one movie, it is really a mess honestly!
Iron Man was "obscure" when his 1st movie came out. Same with Guardians of the Galaxy
We need to stop catering to the “mainstream” - it just reduces the quality to appease the stupid people, either keep up or shut up
@@Britbaby961 yeah but try throwing the Annihilators, the Shi’Ar, Empress Lilandra, Vulcan, Gladiator & the Protectorate, the Skrull Empire, Spartax Empire, etc plus Galactus, his heralds, F4, GotG 2.0 team, Starjammers, Inhuman Royals, etc all into some cohesive storyline. It’ll take a lot of thought to pull off
@@ferrarriohh yeah obviously some characters/factions/celestial beings/etc. need a whole movie, or even a couple, to establish them. They just need to use what they have and expand upon it.
Earth team- Moon Knight, Dr.Strange, Scarlett Witch, Hulk is still kicking around, Shang-Chi, Ms.Marvel, even a new Hawkeye and MORE
Space team- Guardians, Thor (Odinson or Jane or both), Captain Marvel, Fantastic 4 (after they get a solo movie), Loki, Nova (after his solo movie)
^^^ That's plenty of material to write movies about in Phase 4
This is right on the money 🙌 I agree!!
Shang Chi might fit in the magic stuff
Yea not all of them would need to solve some Massive Universe problem. A more diversed set of Heroes doing different levels of threats would be nice.
My ideal future for the MCU is one in which we have Fantastic Four and Nova and such movies that take place entirely in space/other planets, meanwhile the Earth-based movies deal with the new Mutant phenomena.
Exactly 💯
Richard Rider hopefully, Sam Alexander is so boring
@@NoVACorpsGaming Yeah, Richard Ryder is definitely who I think of when I think of Nova
Yes
This needs more likes, Great insight👍
Here's part 2 of Tay's Secret Wars buildup video. ruclips.net/video/1EoJQu0gxcw/видео.html
We already have the living tribunal in mom they are laying the groundwork for secret wars
I like this idea
With Kevin Feigie saying he's "going to an MCU creative retreat to plan out the next 10 years of MCU stories" it's safe to say we're getting more of all angles of the Marvel Universe. There's so much to dig into.
I don't think Earth stuff is growing stale. They just need a unifying villain or plotline for all of it to merge into.
Give it time, and Dr. Doom will undoubtedly become just that
Galactus doom kingpin mephisto those are the theats for the upcoming teams that we are going to get in the mcu I don’t think we are going to have one big bad we might get multiple
If the rumors are true there is dr doom and
Namor ( which he may go to war with humanity as a whole becouse thats namor for ya)
Yeah like KANG or Dr Doom
Mephisto for the magic characters. Kang/ Galactus for the Cosmic characters and Dr Doom for the earth based mainline characters. The evolution of the MCU lies in having multiple Thanos level threats to unify the different tiers of characters Marvel has to offer but the MCU is currently in an internal battle with ideologues who aren't actual fans of the stories they're being paid to shepard and are just all doing thier own thing more concerned with subverting expectations and getting likes on Twitter to tell a multi-layered unifying plotlines that are true to the source material.
Been begging for Moon Knight, Beta Ray Bill and Gladiator to enter the MCU for years!! I’m about 1.5 outta 3 so far!!
If there's one thing the past Fantastic Four films hasn't done that the MCU can do is make the F4 space explorers. Like make them the Star Trek crew of the MCU. The Earth is already loaded with heroes old and new. Time to expand to new areas.
Like the Negative Zone. Which will lead to run-ins with Annihilus.
They guardians of the galaxy
@@eugenedatsmee The Guardians are more about saving other races and getting paid if they can. The First Family could be more than that.
thats literally the guardians of the galaxy
The fantastic four can work with almost any element in the MCU, space, microverse, multiverse, earth base storys ( on the surface or underground). They have had about every type of story in their comic run there shouldn't be anything they can't work with to set them apart from the others and still feel connected.
the fantastic four would be a great way to expand the mcu cosmos with annihilous and galactus. captain marvel can do so with the kree. the x-men could introduce the shi-ar, phallanx and the brood.
Yes and Magneto Dr Doom Apocalypse. Mister sinister
I dont think they should apologize for Eternals 1, I thought it was pretty good.
Hulk has beaten him in the comics I can't remember the issue it was in the 90's.
@@glenfordgreen8652 it was the issue shown in the video which trips me out that dude would say what he did.
I really want a scene in one of these movies where a hero grabs his cell phone and calls other heroes but it goes to voicemail, or a cutaway cameo where the hero's fighting one of their own villains and says "Sorry man, I'm busy."
Then for one of the stingers the hero checks his phone and his voicemail is filled with messages recorded by the other actors saying "sorry. You still need help?" "What it I miss?"
Hmm maybe id missed a thing. What they need to fix exactly?
You explain more about the potential rather than the problem
How about not worrying about "woke" agendas? Just look no further than "Eternals".
I think Starjammers were owned by Sony at the time 😂
Well, she was Kree Starforce. She went around as like a space soldier, kind of a counterpart to the Nova Corps.
@@fearless3073 But they did own and make GotG movies.
@@Retro_Red She’s basically the Green Lantern of MCU😂 even got the GL of the MCU movie🤣
To sell ads. Just like his last video it was a big nothing sandwich.
The Imperial Guard was the main force of The Sh'air led By Gladiator, Himself. I wouldn't mind seeing Gladiator show up but only during the X-Men Saga in the MCU.
We need that story line we need phoenix saga done right
The main thing that drew me into the MCU was the consistently great cast of characters and for better part compelling storytelling.
Imagine in multiverse of madness it briefly talks about an omniverse collision that’s why professor X is in this universe
Yes :)
Bro, we are only a year and some change into phase 4. How you got all these problems already? What happened to wait and see how things play out?
Having the hulk and thor etc in itself is very outlandish.
Then if you're still in your emotions, come at me.
i stop watching when he said Gladiator can beat the avengers, with hulk and thor included..
Another thing Rob is that there will be alot of world building that needs to happen in the MCU so I think for awhile it will not be like the first 10 years leading up to a Thanos but shorter arcs aimed at developing the wider universe so when big bads are introduced it feels organic.
You get the jist
Eternals was a fantastic film and needs NO apology! Beautiful in scale and every other aspect.
So that's what happens when you smoke crack
for real. it’s seriously over-hated.
Walking talking crack 🪨....... I am 😭 🤣

Comics Fan: MCU absolutely needs to fix itself by Including [insert personal favorite characters.]
I prefer the street level side of marvel over the space/cosmic side of marvel because they have better individual stories like daredevil, punisher, jessica jones and them because they deal with lesser threats
@Paraone Ngatai dc has good individual stories because most their heroes protect certain cities and do not crossover to much
I think he’s right that doesn’t need to be a change of pace and the space aspect is one way to do that to take things off of earth to show us truly powerful people and the X-Men or a new angle on heroism.
Yeah that celestial mountain should've really been addressed in every show and movie after Eternals even of its just in a throwaway line or joke.
Kang isn't going to be a "big, overarching villain" like Thanos was. Hes going to have projects that he's a part of that he's the villain for. Weren't getting anything like Thanos ever again (unless we get The Beyonder in Secret Wars).
Kang is the new Loki!
The mcu is now in the phase of living long enough to become the villain.
Watchu mean?
You don’t HAVE to offer alternative solutions, just offer good reasons for disliking something or the way they do it. Good vid👌🏼
Agreed. Tired of mirror battles... Especially after a show with a great premise and writing up til that point like WandaVision.
That’s why I enjoyed Loki’s ending so much. It wasn’t really about a huge battle but a major decision that was mentally and emotionally taxing for the main characters involved. It felt like a breath of fresh air for me personally.
@@demonnogo yes very true, I forgot Loki was the exception.
Rob needs to be president of the MCU !
I don't understand the overall point of this video 🤔
In the end its a business. We (hardcore) fans, must accept they will make it a way that attract people to watch it, no matter how well they know marvel.
The one thing that needs fixing is to get rid of brie larson

She sucks her acting is atrocious every movie she has been in she over does it like she's actually talented when she is the furthest thing from talent, I tried to watch captain marvel 4 times and i passed out each time barely 30 minutes in. The one scene where she screams at the skrull made me want throw my tv out the window. There are so many other female actors that would be 1000 times better than her.
@@hamhockbeans I really hope they cast the right person for rouge and they don't just use who people "think" is talented or popular.
Bro you actually did a good hypothetical scenario thjs time. With how the F4 come about. Actually makes sense
Why a crackrock 🤣
Best line in comics starlord and nova vs Thanos. "When death is standing there screaming in your face, yell back!" "You know I say some dumb s#%&@ nova" oh well it was good let's go ahhhhhhhhh!...btw side note, kick cpt marvel out and give us fila vel with the gray hair and the sword...hell yea you said everything I wrote, had to delete the stuff I wrote about d n a. You hit it man
The problem with the MCU is this they’ve had opportunities to do these expansions and they’ve pissed him away.
Thor ragnarok is amazing, but can’t defend eternals
Just saying, but I always skip the sponsorship ad part... if they want some new Data
I've been thinking this same thing for months now
@@zackhenderson138 love his videos but man he’s jus theory crafting at this point. You can feel the passion he has for the marvel ips as a whole but dude jus chill lol.
He’s mentioning things that are phase 6 & 7 possibilities lol. Like damn bro let it build up
And grow.
@@stopcamping3414 lol exactly, I love all the videos too. But I think his intelligence & anxiety overrides just enjoying what we're getting
I left this comment on a newer video but I wanted to put it here:
I have a video request.
Ant man is gonna defeat kang with a fart joke by accident. Nobody will care.
Same
I really hope the Disney/Marvel are listening to really great content creators like you for ideas/input for the MCU
The Brood!
The brood would be a great introduction to the space opera, because…um….THE BROOD!
(I remember the brood and thinking omfg Xmen just jumped the shark…now it’s superheroes and aliens? Me and a hundred other comic nerds were like “gimme a break Marvel!! This is Sadzz.)
Then I saw the Wolverine/Brood cover! Omfg! I had finally found my full back tatoo!
Dan Abnett writes some of the best Warhammer 40k books out there. I love that guy
14:05 you called it! Gorr the god butcher is making his debut in Thor Love and Thunder!
That’s the thing, I think there’s still so much to explore. Personally, I can’t imagine MCU content getting state. Maybe I’m just an optimistic fanboy? But there’s still so much to look forward to.
Yup. Haven’t even seen the X-Men or Fantastic 4. So many cool battles we could have with heroes fighting each other
Dan Abnett has written some of the best Warhammer 40k books out there. I hope Eisenhorn gets a movie one day
Like when the Infinity Gauntlet comic came out, they introduced all the cosmic beings to the world (on the big stage so to speak).
They should have 3 entirely seperated story lines
Earth based story with Thunderbolt and political stuff
Cosmic level story with Cellestials
Timelines and multiverse story with Kang
You should def get in contact with Marvel and DC studios to help assist in the “research” maybe direction as well depends but I feel the people brought into a project should look at your channel and comics explained. Truly awesome!
If I had to guess, I'd say that a lot of doors will be opened in love and thunder. It's a space faring tale, and involves a lot of different planets and races.
Did Rob just say Ben Grimm is a walking talking crack rock? I love it.
“The Thing…. I neeeeeeeed” lol lol
A cool alien race to introduce would be the Brood. Or my personal favorite the space Knight ROM and the Dire Wraiths. That would be so freaking cool.
I want to see a film or (preferably) a show about the Starjammers going on adventures, while trying to avoid capture by the Shi'Ar.
You're 100% right Rob, we need to get rid of Cap Marvel and move forward with space 😁.
Rob, you should be hired by Kevin Feige by now. You have a whole encyclopedia for Marvel Comics' story and you have knowledge on how to fix MCU's aspects
Sam Guthrie took Gladiator down by himself. I'm sure Thor wouldn't have too much trouble.
