Europe seems quite taken with these antique musical instruments. Here,the musicians are VERY good. There are so many factors - the acoustics of the site,time and intensity of rehearsal,technical quality of the recording and transmission,etc. The performance shown here is first-class. But,just speaking for myself,I prefer the sound-quality of modern musical instruments - for impact,for precision,for purity. That's why modern instruments were developed over the centuries and that's why modern instruments have superseded their earlier counterparts.

Period instruments go out of tune rather quickly. The gut strings are particularly unstable, and must be retuned often. It's worth it for such glorious sounds.

You are right in one aspect, -volume. But sound quality was lost when violins were altered to be heard in the new huge concert halls.

No soy experta , pero la soprano para mi oído, no fue la mejor opción, El tenor excelente, pero como que le falto brillo, alcance vocal. La orquesta es hermosa y el coro divino, solo esa critica.
Con respecto a mi comentario anterior,nombro a la primer soprano que canto, la segunda divina, y el bajo muy bueno. Además de muy lindo!

This choir has nice soundings sopran and tenor . Fresh voices. Bass is a bit light as usual with young singers.
