I don't know how anyone at From could look at this spell for more than 5 seconds and think it's okay. The damage, cast speed, and the rate at which the skeletons attack all need to be increased pretty dramatically, and perhaps some sort of tracking should be added as well.
I would prefer an entire rework. Make the spell cast a cloud or portal above the enemy that follows them and causes the skeletons to come out from the bottom of the cloud and stab the target
The accuracy of this spell was insane. I can't believe it the hit the enemies each and every time without failing or missing. Truly one of the spells of all time.
for those wondering why the skeletons sometimes go completely off-course, sometimes get stuck on objects, and almost always prompts the boss or enemy to dodge it, it's because of how the spell is designed. Due to machinations unknowable to even Michael Zaki himself, the spell actually has two components. Instead of spawning the skeletons on whatever you're locked, it spawns an invisible projectile that spawns the skeletons when and where it expires, i.e. when the projectile either hits a wall, hits an enemy, or uses up its lifespan. The skeletons sometimes go off-course because there's a limited angle based on the player character where projectiles are allowed to emit from, like a 'cone'. No projectile can face a direction outside of this cone. This normally isn't an issue when locked-onto an enemy and using literally any other projectile emitter as your character can turn to face them even mid-cast. However, Tibia's Summons locks your character's direction and subsequently cone through the entire duration of its cast, so if you lock onto an enemy and it moves out of your cone, when you finish casting the spell the invisible projectile tries to spawn outside of the cone, but is forced to spawn inside the cone instead and end up hitting either a wall or despawning in the sky causing the skeletons to spawn in the middle of nowhere. The reason why bosses almost always tries to dodge the spell whenever the skeletons appear is because of the same reason. The invisible projectile hits the boss, flipping a switch in the AI to either prompt it to dodge or get aggressive and counterattack. Then the skeletons spawn, but by the time they do anything the boss has either tried to dodge the invisible projectile or rapidly approaching your location.
Literally all the need to do to make this spell viable is to make the projectile that shoots out to determine where the skeletons spawn visible and to make the skeletons attack faster and turn while attacking to track enemies
The skeletons should start spawing as soon as the casting animation starts, not when it ENDS, and they also should attack 3 times as fast. Even then it would be shit compared to the STARTING spell, but hey
@@jooot_6850 thats absolutely not the reason he adds those useless items, armors, weapons, spells he simply dosent know how to properly balance a game thats why the games he was more involved the stuff is either worthless or completely broken and thats why in ds2 literally everything is viable.

Its not so much missing, the spell hits exactly where you cast it at. The problem seems to be that the spell takes so long to take effect that whatever you cast it at has plenty time to move. in other words this is one of those spells that you must aim where the target WILL be instead of where it is. Though i have no idea if thats at all viable in this game, since everything moves so fast.
The weapon art seems to have that advantage. Once you activate the art, no matter what happens to your character, the skeletons will appear. So very often in either PvP or PvE, I'd take the hit, go flying, but the skeletons would appear where I was to deal nasty damage on my target.
The weird behaviour of this spell makes more sense when you realise that internally it is shooting an extremely fast invisible projectile and then summoning the skeletons at the location that hits. Which if you're locked onto an enemy _should_ be the enemy, but something could get in the way. And of course after the skeletons are summoned they don't track whatsoever, but that much is obvious.
There are a few spells which I think are worse than Tibia's (which is hard to believe after watching Skum's video). Freezing Mist is a spell from Seluvis and 'can' be useful at times, but for many bosses it can be tricky to keep the boss to stay in the mist. I remember NapstarF using it in a sorcery relay run against Rykard and you would think that it would be ideal for this boss (and that the lava would nicely reset the frost constantly). But it was pure pain (and agony), boss fight took over 20 minutes with this as far as I remember. Also, the spell doesn't do anything else than frost buildup, so you can not kill the Elden Beast with it. Briar's of Sin is a sorcery which causes bleed buildup. Yes, bleed is OP in Elden Ring. But remember that both the statue and the big fish in the tree won't bleed, so beating Elden Ring with this spell is maybe impossible if you can not get infinite FP in some way (because the spell also deals a little bit of magic damage as well). Worst spell of all: Fia's Mist. This spell is basically useless in PVE, because all enemies are immune to Death Blight (and I rarely see someone using it in PVP either).
My second playthrough ever was a necromancer archer, and i was so excited to use this spell because i thought it would summon actual skeletons to fight for you for a short time Needless to say, my disappointment was unfathomable. Honestly it was the Ashes of War that saved that run for me. I was shocked at how unexplored the death sorceries were
To make Tibia's summons decent, you need the Prince of death's staff (boosts death sorceries), get your dex to 30 and wear the Radagon icon talisman (this puts you at max cast speed). For bosses that input read, you can try throwing a dagger to trigger dodge animation, then cast....with dex at 70 (or dex at 30 and Radigon icon) you may hit them with full spell.
You could also have Azur's Staff in your offhand so no dex investment is needed. Although tbh you kinda need to have 80/80 on PoD because of how backloaded it is. Carian Regal would just produce better results if you were only at like 80 Int
@@LowTierVergil Tibia's summons is definitely best in NG+......with enough levels in int/faith, prince of death staff becomes the highest scaling.....2 of them ends up with a boost of over 20% (one boosts 10%, then that gets boosted by the other for 10%....ends up being more than a flat 20%). If you have to do all that to make the spell even viable, then it is dog shit. Using the prince of death staff with 80 80 isn’t unique to tibias summons. It just becomes the best staff in the game. Literally every other sorcery also becomes better, and are still better than Tibias Summons. And if you mean just use it without 80 80, then yeah no. Why would you boost tibias summons by 10% when you could just use any other sorcery, and you’re sure as hell not using the staff in your main hand until you’re at least 55 55. Furthermore you’re incorrect about casting speed. Radagon icon gives 30 virtual dex, not 40. Azurs staff gives 40.
@@Nightmare-pj4fg I didn't say it was good. But I also didn't say anything about maxing out int/faith either. You only need to hold the Prince of Death staff in your off hand for the boost (yes, you get more with 2 of them in NG+). I was only talking about how to make it decent. I have done play throughs using only death spells, and have one shot many things with Tibia's summons, and it is also very good for pulling aggro or thinning out trash mobs before fighting something larger. Not every spell needs to be OP to be usable or viable in some way. As for Radigon's icon, yes I reversed the numbers, you need 40 dex plus the icon's artificial 30 for max cast

There are a lot of spells that unintuitively are spawned by invisible projectiles, and if those invisible projectiles are blocked by geometry or another enemy then that's where the spell with appear. Tibia summons is one of those spells.
Skumnut is now my favorite youtuber... because he's the only one who's both an intelligent life form, and fights Mimic Tear legit. Others are too afraid to face themselves, but he's ready, every time.
I started hearing "The Town Inside Me" and it took me a not insignificant amount of time to realize I wasn't going insane and in fact it was playing in the video.
Tibia Summons would be a totally functional spell if they were summoned surrounding the targeted enemy's current position to a certain range (like 3x longer than the current range lmao) instead of needing to stand right in front of something and eat damage just to get the spell off. Or really it could work A LOT of other ways that summon skeletons to run up and try to hit something, but the current version is not it. It is absolutely baffling that they make these kinds of spells that are next to impossible to use and are massively outclassed by many other spells, especially in a spell group that has so few spells already. Just make it a good ****ing spell, what's stopping them! A ton of incantations too are very difficult to use, or have been nerfed so that they're outclassed by lesser versions, or even after being buffed are still functionally useless.
I don’t know what I did wrong with sorcery, but like a third of the way through my magic play-through the damage was dropping off and I just became a melee user scaling off of intelligence and used like 0 spells until the end of the game.
I'm surprised you never went for the Azur's Glintstone Staff and went for increasing your intelligence/damage as that staff also increases your casting speed and stacks with the Radagon Icon (and is slightly faster). Using both would've given you the fastest possible casting speed.
As much as I love and appreciate the amazing games that fromsoft creates, you can sometimes tell they don't play their own game. Designer devs not being well versed in the game results in shit like tibia's summons existing, and the weird bullshit that is trying to make a split int/fth build for either death sorceries or golden order incantations. Golden order seal does good damage at 40/40, while prince of death's staff at 40/40 is trash. Why? What does that add to the game? Anyone who wants to use death sorceries can't get good dmg out of the STAFF MADE FOR CASTING THEM until you're above 70/70 int/fth? Like who comes up with these asinine ideas when all in all the game is still incredible? The answer is: The devs do not play their own game. And whoever they hired for QA clearly doesn't have a good understanding of weapons, damage, scalings and other combat mechanics. Because if they did, shit like prince of death's staff, devourer's scepter, varre's bouquet, and many more weapons would actually make sense XD
i think whats happening w the spell is when u use it instead of spawning the skelly at the target it launch a invis projectile and wherever that invis projectile hit it spawn the skelly in
If Tibia Summons were something like summoning like two or three weak skeletons that get targeted even while down could be better. Just having an on call distraction could be MUCH more useful then summoning three skeletons just for them to miss
My current theory is that, instead of just spawning where you're locked on, it sends an invisible spell orb or something of the ilk, and the first thing it touches gets boned.
I think it should be cooler if this spell really summoned skeletons (like summons but without being targeted by bosses and lasting less time), would be like for a necromancer build
If you couldnt tell the spell doesnt spawn the skeletons around the enemy. It fires an invisivle projectile at the enemy. So if anything is between you and the target they attack there.
The projectile also seems to bounce or something, maybe like the dragon's flame breath. If you cast the spell while standing in an evergaol facing outward, they'll often spawn in the sky (unless that was patched)
You’re the only Elden Ring player I respect because of your character creation. I feel like you’re the only one that really *gets* character creation’s true purpose. Thank You for your authentic greatness in this regard.
Fun fact(s): The spell has long range, but it also casts an invisible line to the enemy so it knows where to place the attack, which means it can be blocked by objects and terrain, and it can straight up just miss the boss hitbox sometimes too, in case the spell needed to be any worse of course. Oh yeah! And do you know how enemies won't dodge night sorceries? Technically this spell also is supposed to bypass dodge detections, but they forgot to apply it to the hidden casting line, so technically the enemies dodging it aren't even dodging the spell itself, they are dodging the line!
Damn dog 4 times on that same build? It sounds like it must at least be fun to play. I've been theory-crafting an int/arc run, Albanuric staff and occult/blood claymans harpoon, briar and bubble sorceries, maybe frost too.
Honestly I used the axe with this spell my first play through after I accidentally found it in the black knife catacombs and it is very solid at taking out chunks of boss health with no buffs besides the axe talisman so yeah I really enjoyed up until Elden Beast because it became impossible to use the spell/ash of war after Elden Beast started to move around which I do understand is the case for many other weapons as well
I was really hoping once he tried to hit the nights calvary and the skeles just kept spawning on top of him because he didn't have line of sight that he would learn that this summon targets by firing an invisible projectile then spawning the skelies
Huh I never used this spell, Its the skill of the Rosus axe but worse because you arent swinging your own axe. The Ash of war version on the axe is actually pretty good
Huh, i guess this spell throws some sort of invisible projectile, that's the only reason i can think of for it not targeting things that are behind an obstacle.

They should have made it so it actually spawned 3 skeletons that can fight for like 5-10 seconds for this to be worth it.
I hope in the next game there are actual necromancer spells with something like that
Skumnut is now my favorite youtuber... because he's the only one who's both an intelligent life form, and fights Mimic Tear legit. Others are too afraid to face themselves, but he's ready, every time.
The guy at 39:22 I can only say he looks like one of the people from demonslayer who forge the swords for the demon slayers but wearing a sombrero
Hello, Skumnut you are my favorite goblin that has an particular type of humor.
I don’t know what I did wrong with sorcery, but like a third of the way through my magic play-through the damage was dropping off and I just became a melee user scaling off of intelligence and used like 0 spells until the end of the game.
What was that weird sound at 1:34 it scared me so much wtf
Miyazaki: Okay guys, I need you to design, animate, program and balance an spell that hits 1 out of 100 attacks.
From soft team: GOT YOU BRO.
the names of tibia’s summons: The Torment, The Pain and The Agony
Tibia summons is the epitome of free aim magic.
As someone who did a necromancer build, you HAVE to free aim it where you think they will go.
I'd say the skellies are the homies, but they definitely are NOT the homies. They're the biggest saboteurs in all Souls like games.
I'm surprised you never went for the Azur's Glintstone Staff and went for increasing your intelligence/damage as that staff also increases your casting speed and stacks with the Radagon Icon (and is slightly faster). Using both would've given you the fastest possible casting speed.
You know, I don't think I'm going to try this spell, I'm going to just get the axe and rock that.
All the wind up of a fully charged Greatsword R2 with none of the satisfaction
i think whats happening w the spell is when u use it instead of spawning the skelly at the target it launch a invis projectile and wherever that invis projectile hit it spawn the skelly in
If Tibia Summons were something like summoning like two or three weak skeletons that get targeted even while down could be better.
Thank god someone is coming out with fresh content to keep me from hollowing
If you couldnt tell the spell doesnt spawn the skeletons around the enemy. It fires an invisivle projectile at the enemy. So if anything is between you and the target they attack there.
The projectile also seems to bounce or something, maybe like the dragon's flame breath. If you cast the spell while standing in an evergaol facing outward, they'll often spawn in the sky (unless that was patched)
I feel like you gotta free-aim this spell to hit certain enemies, but that might also require clairvoyance beyond the ken of normal men.
You’re the only Elden Ring player I respect because of your character creation. I feel like you’re the only one that really *gets* character creation’s true purpose. Thank You for your authentic greatness in this regard.
Not even Tibia’s Summons can stop the climb, god damn
he uploaded when i was seeking a video to watch while eating thanks skum
Fun fact(s): The spell has long range, but it also casts an invisible line to the enemy so it knows where to place the attack, which means it can be blocked by objects and terrain, and it can straight up just miss the boss hitbox sometimes too, in case the spell needed to be any worse of course.
Oh yeah! And do you know how enemies won't dodge night sorceries? Technically this spell also is supposed to bypass dodge detections, but they forgot to apply it to the hidden casting line, so technically the enemies dodging it aren't even dodging the spell itself, they are dodging the line!
can you beat elden ring with the magic water thing?
Edit : i looked it up its called ANCESTRAL INFANT'S HEAD
Edit edit: nvm i found your video on it
At 3:38 he locked onto the Bloodhound Knight on the opposite side of the wall for anyone who's confused and curious.
as someone whose beaten the game 4 separate times using exclusively the oracular bubble sorceries, i would never even attempt a tibia summons run.
Damn dog 4 times on that same build? It sounds like it must at least be fun to play.
I've been theory-crafting an int/arc run, Albanuric staff and occult/blood claymans harpoon, briar and bubble sorceries, maybe frost too.
@@whitekony1006 brair are fun with the thorn staff and albrich's armor.
bubbles are fun because they are deceptively strong, and have alright stagger.
im doing my first playthrough, and my god meteor storm or meteor shower with the meteorite staff is amazing
Honestly I used the axe with this spell my first play through after I accidentally found it in the black knife catacombs and it is very solid at taking out chunks of boss health with no buffs besides the axe talisman so yeah I really enjoyed up until Elden Beast because it became impossible to use the spell/ash of war after Elden Beast started to move around which I do understand is the case for many other weapons as well
Skum when will you get the WR in oneshotting Bog as fast as possible?
I think this is the first time I'm seeing a Mariner moveset, usually they're dead before I can see it
I was really hoping once he tried to hit the nights calvary and the skeles just kept spawning on top of him because he didn't have line of sight that he would learn that this summon targets by firing an invisible projectile then spawning the skelies
That godfrey battle was hilarious I love it.
very interesting, I main a bubble mage but im totally fitting this spell into my rotation
You can beat the game with anything, as long as you're insane enough.
51:40 the voices are taking over
48:50 funniest part of the whole video. I can't stop laughing at his reaction
