The reason for the explosion at 23:56 is most likely the same reason that the bottom row kept detonating the top in your testing. The reason being, persicope 20s are still 20s, and 20s have a lot of projectile deviation, so one of the projectiles from the back 20 most likely colided with the hitbox of the 20 in the front, which caused the chain reaction.
For anyone wondering in forts particle accelerators work by trapping non-hittable (example NOT THE HOWITZER AND DECK CANNONS) in a portal loop that keeps them loaded and boosts their momentum, once you have the desired amout or the shells are fast enough you brake the loop and release a beam of instant death (concept similar to the Minecraft's arrow railgun)

would love to join u next time, i have tons of crazy science that would be hilarious to watch. some examples include a pilotable planes accel where u get over 2k dps constantly firing instead of a single burst. (a single cannon round does 700 dmg... yeah that accel demolished EtaN in battleships and it can delete battleships under the 7min mark after it finishes building around the 6min+ mark). another is the landcruisers accel which has insane accuracy and precision over disgusting distances as it fires tracer rounds to aim (since aiming accels r difficult with moving tanks and enemies) and it can easily do crossmap snipes. the best part is that you can build it in ur base but remotely activate it whenever u want to while at ur tank since it ONLY requires hotkeys to load, fire and reset. no need to do some portal deleting shenanigans at ur base and leaving ur tank behind only to realise ur enemy moved by the time u go back to see ur tank. oh and did i mention that the output portal of the accel is also a return to sender so anything they send in gets sent back? funny thing about this accel is that it has never lost unless the enemy kills it b4 its ready. XD
@@DailyStuffs. u can accelerate howis but only 1 at a time lol. howis are better used in a concentrator cause u can actually concentrate them in the 0.5s it takes b4 they get a hitbox and if they dont reenter another howi's hitbox, they wont collide (so once theyre already inside each other, unless they seperate and recollide, they wont explode. they only explode when they collide but not when theyre already inside)
@@DailyStuffs. the input portal for ur top row of periscopes was too low, causing u to aim slightly downwards and due to deviation, 1 of ur projectiles hit another periscope. simple fix would be to aim higher and thus have a higher input portal
