from what I know Orphan Anthem '86 was originally planned to be rerecorded for Fables from a Mayfly. after trying a bunch of stuff out the band deemed it "too experimental" so scrapped it from Fables.
I believe this performance showcases some of the differences that we could've seen on that version of the track, I really love it. It seems as though they later went back to the IFS version of the song when theyd play it live in the future.
