Follow up mow at the overgrown duplex. Bagging!! DR SP30 It's an animal!!

- It has been just 2 weeks since the big clean up at this overgrown duplex, but it's summer, and it's Florida! It grew back like wild fire but it is no match for the DR SP30. I noticed an interest from my viewers to pick up the clippings so I decided to bag it. This mower handled it like a hungry animal! It could have done it with even higher grass, and yes, I'll try it. But it picked it up cleanly and kept it's ridiculous high rpm houl going while doing it. LOVE this mower!

Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
Lived in Perrine Florida, in late 70’s when Hurricane David wiped out Homestead AFB ! Lived in a very old 10X52 ft. Mobile home, in perfect condition. God spared our mobile home park. we were transferred to Galveston Tx, sold it for $5,000exactly what we paid for it, 3 years prior. Hurricane Alicia wiped out Galveston while we stationed there, spared our apartment. Now close to 70, have had a blessed life. Thank you for all you do!
Great job. Can't believe how well the mower did on the first cut and not leaving any clippings behind.
It surprised me too. I knew it would do well, but it really has a strong vacuum effect.
You are one of the few lawn dudes in Florida who don't shy away from bagging super tall grass. I take other YT lawn care jamokes to task in criticizing their constant re-mowing already cut paths to pulverize and otherwise scatter the clippings, which really does not make things look better. They complain, "What am I do to with all the clippings?", and argue they'd rather spend more time, gas and equipment wear and tear by attempt to mulch clippings and leave a mess than driving to the landfill one time to dump a load. I argue back their finished products do not inspire homeowners to call for more work, but your work certainly does. It may take you longer to complete a lawn, but I have a feeling you'll generate more return business. When anyone asks what the "DR" letters on your nifty machine mean you can tell them they stand for "Done Right."
Time is money in the lawn business. If it takes me twice as long to bag that much overgrowth then it is only fair I charge twice as much. Most customers don't want to pay double the normal rate.
Very capable mower which is what I would expect from DR Power.
I love the no talking. Just hard great work. That mower is perfect for my height and it does a great job.
Amazing transformation! Loved the reverse mow at the end! 😂🤣 ❤️🙏❤️
Yea I can't resist doing that. Thanks!
Mike’s seeing the grass that way before you cut it that makes you think of that guns and roses song welcome to the jungle lol
Looks great!👍 Same here in SE Tennessee about the tall 2 week old grass: "It's Tennessee & it's Summer"! We've had hard rain or sprinkles at least every couple of days! Better than a drought! Count our blessings!🙏😊
Well said.
Tall but not very dense grass. Another great video by S2LA.
Satisfying to see the grass bagged. I know for my yard any mulch, grass, sticks left there to rot and hold water just attracts fungus gnats and mosquitoes on top of being messy. The owner needs to put down landscape fabric and rocks where you can't weed whack. Also sidewalks over-due for pressure washing. Nice job. New sub.
Welcome! and I agree.
Great Job man, luv your videos thanks
Magic mike keep up the amazing work sir and thanks for the video
Thanks, will do!
Nice work, nice mower💪🏾
Nice job once again on this property. Haven't tried my bagger yet but you inspired me to give it a try. Tried the dual tank yesterday and realized that I need to lower the auxiliary tank a few inches so the fill neck fuel level is the same for both tanks because it's like a spirit level.
The bagger works great! People say that the bag is too small for the mower, but actually just looks small. It's normal size for hand dumping.
@@Something2LookAt Don't want a huge bag, otherwise you'll have quite the chore trying to lift the bag to dump it.
Great job, looks nice
Thanks!
Thank you for a beautiful job! Congratulations on 100Ksubs, I’m one!
Awesome! Thank you!
I hope I’m correct in saying congratulations! On hitting one hundred thousand subs!! Well deserved. Keep them coming.
Yes! It finally did rollover. No congratulations or anything at all from RUclips yet. Maybe I have to keep it above 100K for a while.
@@Something2LookAt I’m sure you will. I certainly enjoy your videos. It will come. I don’t know weather I like the cub cadet 33 or the mower you used in the last video. They both cut great!
@@gregcrandall2502 I know right? Well the 33 has a stronger gearbox which helps, but the DR is spinning like twice the rpms, it's crazy!
@@Something2LookAt 😂😂 what is the width on the DR? Are they priced about the same? Is the dr your new favorite?
@@gregcrandall2502 The DR is 30 inches vs the Cub Cadet's 33. Yea they are close in price. Roughly $1300 depending on the sale you catch.
keep it up with the great videos
Nice cut and bag.
Nice machine but I choose a Timemaster last year esp since I bought it in Jan 2022 and got it for $1199.00 with electric start too right before the Toro $400 increase. I have a certifed Toro repair shop 5 miles away while the closest DR is 52 miles so I choose the Toro.
My echo guy told me 4 storkes lawn mowers don't matter the brand .. they accepted all lawnmowers .. and echo trimmers and weed eaters .. but I want the tore ..😂the price shoot up .. im thinking tho 🤔
Yeah the Time Master is $1600 now :(. I was going to buy one at Tractor Supply this year, but the credit processing company always denies me there, yet they also serve as the credit processing company for DR Power Equipment and they approved me for a DR Power Equipment account, so I bought a DR Power 26" walk behind instead for $1,000. The engine is a bit small but it does the job. Eventually I'll step up to a Scag 36" walk behind.
Looks like it does a nice job of cutting cleanly while bagging that long stuff. Is this just a demo machine or is it yours? I see the tag still wrapped around the dipstick tube which is why I asked. I really like watching that mower side discharge for some reason. Hey, congrats on hitting 100K subs. That's quite an achievement bro!
Oh yea, they let me keep these things after doing the review videos. I'm pretty bad at taking the tags off.
@@Something2LookAt Hey, I also noticed that the air box is shimmying quite a bit. Might want to check that the clamp that holds it on (or however it is held on) is tight.👍
Well done. That mower works quite well. Thanks for sharing the video Mike.
@@404nitro Yea I saw that on the video actually. I'll check it out.
Summer in FL the place where I stay the guy comes every 2wks it's now it looks like that he comes back next week to cut it again.
Great job .. the price on this machine is lower than the time master .. this video .. shows me it looks good 👍🏾.. I heard bad reviews but they all do .. and some people is at fault . Because they don't know how to use machines 😅
I would have bought a Toro Time Master but the store's credit processing company always denies me, yet they also are the ones that serve DR Power's credit processing as well, DR Power got approved, so I bought the DR machine...mine is the 26" though...smaller engine, which is a disappointment, even being a 4" smaller deck, they should have used the same engine as the 30"...mine bogs down in grass less tall than what he's mowing but my grass is a lot thicker too. I'd love to buy a Scag 36" Belt Drive walk behind at some point, but this DR 26" mower will do for now.
@@wildbill23c really geesh
@@gregoryburkhead7813 Yep. you make stupid decisions on a credit app and you lose my business immediately. Running the 26" here at home and ordered the 30" to put on the mowing trailer for the season. We shall see how they hold up after a few years....my guess is how long will parts be available since its not a brand name engine, and the only parts source is DR Power. The 13" blades for the 26" model are only available through DR Power and the 26" model was discontinued a while ago, so that's going to be an almost immediate parts issue.
I have the Toro equivalent and it too is an ANIMAL!
Congrats on reaching to 100K subscribers man and you did a fantastic job, and I hope you will get a play button soon 👍🏼🎊🎉
Yea, we'll see if they send one out. No congratulations or anything at all from RUclips. It's like it didn't register...
Buen trabajo te toco usar las man
Hey I got my blades in the other day. I can't wait to try them out!
Great! You'll love them.
Hey Mike! How have the wheels held up on that mower? I am thinking about getting this mower.
I have had no problems in any way with mine.
Great mower man... Do you run kvaldis on this machine too?
No it just has the stock blades. John offered but I really don't think they would make a difference on this particular mower. The blade tip speed on this mower is the fastest I've experienced. I really need to look for a bigger challenge for it actually.
Did you use those awesome Australian blades on it?
Na, it's just the regular blades. Don't actually think it needs any help!
Great job... I'm truly thinking about getting this lawn mower. Do you know if it's supports a big league lawn striping kit?
I'm sorry, I don't know about that.
I have one on mine. I called big league. Sent them pictures and measurements. I drilled my own holes in the mower and made one work.
Where in Florida? I live in Orlando and last weekend I could not mow due to all the rain.. so, two weeks later I have to deal with crazy tall st. Augustine.. it's going to be a long hard day of mowing for me..
We're out in Wedgefield, far East Orlando. Yes, the rain is making it challenging lately.
Man! Looks like that puppy is cutting and bagging better then my Timemaster. How does it compare?
I am looking for someone with a Timemaster to do a comparison.
@@Something2LookAt That would be awesome. Right now until 10-6 DR is having a flash sale $1199 for this mower!!!
Still the OEm blades Mike?
Yea, just the DR blades.
Must be a new wasp doorbell a very long stick
Would you recommend this mower over a normal residential mower ?
I think it's overkill for residential. Happy to have it for commercial use.
@@Something2LookAt what’s the cost of maintaining such a mower
@@GamerGee It's hard to say so far. Might just be regular oil changes and blade sharpenings.
@@Something2LookAt I’ll be keeping an eye on your videos a year from now. To see. Love it. Would like to have it in the arsenal if I can get someone to swap my gxv160 with a 390.
Mike, how does the DR compare with the Toro Timecutter?
I really wish I had one so I could do the comparison video. I'll have to check with all the guys around here to see if anybody has one.
@@Something2LookAt
Thanks for answering. They look pretty similar, belt driven with two blades.
Tame the wild and mighty Bahia
Hello Mike how are you doing how are things going in Florida hotter than blazes I bet
It truly is crazy hot!
When will the Great Dane make a comeback?
That's only 2 weeks?.
Welcome to Florida!
Do you ever have to bag 🎒 a big yard.
I never have bagged a big yard, like an acre. It could be done though.
Is there any long term concerns you had to address with the mower?? Im thinking of picking one up for my side hustle as well. I have lots of experience with the toro timemaster so i know what id get from that but this mower has much better features!
I have no concerns. This mower is still running and performing perfectly.
@@Something2LookAt thank you so much! I was the first guy in my town to get a timemaster about a decade ago. Now im gonna be the labrat on the sp30 too.
@@team_1j_jont-179 You'll be amazed at the blade tip speed. I've never experienced a mower spinning the blades this fast.
What issues are to be expected with this mower? The reviews online are terrible. Talking about belts popping and bolts coming off. I se you have had I for 4 months. How has your experience been with reliability? I think the cut of that thing is awesome but if it’s broke more than it’s working then it’s not worth my time or money. From what I’ve seen on the reviews the parts take about 2 weeks to get in the mail. For $1300 I want a solid product
I don't know what to say, nothing's broke on mine. I will go through it though and check the snugness of the bolts.
@@Something2LookAt No problems with the blade belt snapping or shredding? It has happened to 2 belts so far. I love the mower but this should not happen. I am going to take it to get looked at this winter. I have read that others have the same problem. Maybe the brake hits to hard when you let go of the handle to disengage the blades?? I might try shutting it off first for the rest of the season. Also, I vaguely remember one dealer saying there might be an updated part to prevent this from happening.
@@starkeind8327 Interesting. No, my belt never shredded. Maybe mine is already updated? I will say that the rotation speed on these blades is the fastest I've ever encountered. Maybe that is a challenge for the belt. But I've actually never looked under the cover yet. I really should.
420th like
It's weird watching you mow normally...lol....
LOL, I hear ya.
Sorry but i used to do that job for 7 years and just the fact that the mower might be a good mower but the guy is no using it profesional y like striping
Not a bad job just mowing grass an weed eating piece of cake for you😊
Yea, this time it only took about an hour.
Pick up the pace
That wiring🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Yea, you know, any AC technician should be ashamed of what they did there.
You’re damaging the grass. 1/3 rule…. Come on man. Don’t be a noob
I’ll take the toro Timemaster any day of the week…..sorry
