■Yokai Costume Parade
In Japanese folklore, hyakki yagyo is a night parade of 100 yokais (monsters and goblins). This is said to have occurred during the Heian era, when noblemen carried talismans bestowed by their fortunetellers to avoid running into yokais.
Ichijo Dori street where hyakki yagyo is said to have taken place is now called “Yokai Street” and various yokai festivities are held here.
