Some tips, not just for lotus, but for anyone trying to get into tekken: -learn all of your movement options like all the ways to get up, how to sidestep, how to korean backdash or wavedash if your character can do that -learn all of the punishment options that your character has -learn all of the safe moves your character has (rule of thumb is that anything less than -10 is safe) -learn how to break throws (will always either be a 1, 2, or a 1+2 break)
@@hydrocannongamer2540 yeah, no problem. Every character has a Korean backdash, but some characters have to do a different input than the rest of the cast if they have a backsway (like bryan). KBD is usually just b, b, qcb, b, qcb, b, qcb... Not all characters have a wavedash. Mishimas, jin, hwoarang, bob and some others have a wavedash. The input is the same as the KBD but forward so f, qcf, f, qcf, f, qcf... You know they have it if they rapidly go from crouching to standing like a wave as they go towards the opponent
Going along with that, some tips from someone new to the game so you don't overwhelm yourself. -Don't try to keep all of this in your head to begin with. Make notes on your character that you can check between rounds when you inevitably forget what move to use(I have a list of my pokes for different ranges, my most reliable punishment options and a simple gamplan) -Don't play only to win, play to learn. Always give yourself a secondary goal like breaking a throw, landing your BnB combo or blocking/parrying a low attack. This is really good for both your motivation and reducing the amount you have to learn at once. -As mentioned above, focus on one thing at a time. You'll exhaust yourself trying to do everything consciously, not even pros do that. Focusing on one or two parts of the game is very helpful for developing the muscle memory and reactions so you don't have to keep thinking about it, and can free up your brain to formulate a gameplan. -DO NOT try to memorise your movelist. They're too long, and not super well organised. Look for a guide online, someone will have made one that tells you what each move is for. Use that as a basis for your notes. Note taking might seem like overkill but it frees up so much brain space, this is all stuff I've picked up as a disabled, mediocre fighting game player who doesn't always have the brain space to remember everything my character does. P.S if you're feeling bummed out by losing in the lower ranks, play a few games where your only goal is to land a low parry, it's probably not useful but it feels fucking satisfying
Yo lotus ive been waiting for this just so i could bless your dome w some help. idk how to organize it so ig we'll just do it bullet poit type beat 1. DB4 is kunis "best" low its 17 frames long range and its only -12 on block so only akuma can launch for for a bar of meter (if you do it point blank) its neutral on hit but its not for taking your turn its for checking your opponents tendencies. hit them with it and watch what they do for next time. 2. Kunis 1,1 string is a conditioning tool not a mix up considering all the options are mids. 1,1,1 is safe on block but can be stepped to the right, 1,1,2 cant be stepped but is unsafe at -11, and 1,1,4 is +3 on block but can be stepped on interrupted in either direction. Once your opponent starts to respect 1,1 it frees them up to 1,1, 1+2 stance mixups. 3.Kunai is unsafe on block at -11 i recommend using it as a whiff punish only. 4.Kunis 4,2 12 frame punish leaves you in back turn and gives you access to her actual best low Back Turned D3. 10 frames, +3 on hit, high-crushing -11 on block. Good Move. Back Turned stance also gives you access to kunis 17 frame mid launcher (-12 on block) and her throw 50/50 5.Back Turned stance is really good. Use it often but not TOO often (bc you cant block obviously) good ways of getting in to back turned stance are : 1,2,2B, 4,2 b4B, f3,4, 1,1,1+2B and DF3+4B. I hope these tips can at least help you figure out exactly what you need to do with the character. Also remember practice mode is your friend G. Nice video and i hope to see more soon!
as a tekken and mishima player myself. this kaz is green/yellow rank in strenght. and dont stress yourself with eltist comments. learning the game is by playing, doing mistakes and correcting them step by step. because is just so much input at once in this game. Good to see you play tekken lotus. Enjoy your stay =)
I know its 4 months late, but I respect your willingness to learn this game. As a kaz main, side step left will work for all mishima (excluding Jin). Hopefully I can see more tekken content from people like you who mostly play other fighting game, its a refreshing perspective seeing how you try to relearn some fundamentals different from other games
glad to see these vids, definitely look into the Korean back dash if u haven't. Speedkicks(a top hworang player) has a video on it. btw idk if u know but kuni's db3 puts u in crouch for some crazy fc mixes
Im a Kuni Jr main myself (Hwoarang is also my 3rd favorite character but he requires a brain to use effectively so uh haha) so I love seeing someone else enjoying her as well. Also your Kuni got hella drip, I fucks with it
Lotus, if you want an easy way to move around for now while you record, Try out BB, D, BB. (Back step, side step, Back step.) It's not proper back dash, but it's movement. You can also do BB QCB, BB QCB.
Just fought a pride trooper at living legend rank, haven't played in a while cause all lower levels have bad connection. But I made the Pride trooper rage quit
Not tryna be a dick or anything just gonna make a correction. It’s F, Neutral, D, DF2. It’s also a just frame meaning you press 2 the exact same frame you press DF.
Is there anyway we can get a tekken video like... twice a week? I really really hope everyone enjoys this as much as fighters because I love seeing you play tekken.
Depends on his rank but at a certain rank in ranked mode everyone of your characters get brought up to a distinct base rank. So he could be a savior or overlord rank on one character and brawler on kazuya. But chances are he is high rank on a mishima. Which one is the question
Ok first off Lotus I'm sorry for that L you got these W next vid And two Yes Movement is so much more important in Tekken then in DBF, my dad is extremely good at this game as well and I've learned form him that side stepping is your friend because you can dodge attacks by doing that and punish And each character in Tekken have their own way to play as well. So if any wants to get good at Tekken you gotta play every character and learn how they play, if you don't you are a little effed.
Movement would be wayyyyy better if you played on Playstation with a ps4 controller. It is the best stock D-pad for any system and you can use it on the P5 for ps4 games.
P4 controller is better for learning movement cause it has a better neutral position. I got my P5 just over a week ago and that is the first thing I noticed, the 5 position is lower making it easier to roll your thumb.
So it seems wave dashing is hard and all but that dudes combos looked kinda wack. You had legit ones while hes launching into basically nothing and then just does the ground kick on your wakeup.
Off topic, but after watching the kakashi vs obi wan death battle I'm heated cause these guys really downplayed kakashi so hard. My man could have literally oneshot obi wan with kamui.
Idk i think that guy might be in green rank he can wavedash but can't backdash properly which is way easier he probably just spent a couple of hrs in practice to learn it
Between Trunks and that Kunimitsu win screen, Lotus's character type seems to be dripped out, uses blades, and throws the gang signs.
Nothing feels better than ending my birthday with some good old Lotus. Keep up the great work. Very much appreciated
Happy birthday yo
Yoooo happy birthday!!!
Ayyyy happy birthday!

yes! I was waiting for more tekken videos that weren't from your stream
Absolutely love that you are making tekken videos, worth using that bell notification thing
Lotus a man of culture for letting jin's theme rock throughout the whole video 😎
Yesssss!! The long awaited Tekken Video! Great job man!
Ah, a comfy Tekken vid from Lotus! I’m definitely here for these.
Not initially a fan of tekken, but your vids are converting me.
That's what I like to hear ~
@Lotus I need some more of this bro. I really enjoyed the video
Loving the tekken!
Tekken's slow motion stuff easily makes it one of the coolest fighting games to watch
When she started throwing out gang signs tho 😂
Love this
Can’t wait to see more

Damn man. Tekken. Fighterz. 100 hours of streaming per month. I really want to say thank you for doing such awesome content. It's just awesome!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Always stoked for your tekken now bro.
My man out here on that Kuni grind, too? I'm looking forward to it. She's so damn stylish and fun. I'm more than ready to watch some good ass Tekken.

I wouldn't say not very good. Just starting the learning process.

Small note against mishimas for lotus. Sidestep/walk left. This one in particular loved WR3 which is easily sidestepped.
Kazuyas WR3 is homing. Unless your talking about his 3 on wake up
14:00 CLEAN
More Tekken vids from Lotus?
Me: (Yipes) Ullll
Yessir more Tekken!
Its great that he's playing this, im higher ranked but it would awesome to run into lotus. And that Kazuya is AT LEAST a warrior like cmon
Just fought a pride trooper at living legend rank, haven't played in a while cause all lower levels have bad connection. But I made the Pride trooper rage quit
If anyone's having trouble with doing electrics, don't think of it as a shoryuken motion + 2. It's more like F, Neutral, D+2, DF.
Not tryna be a dick or anything just gonna make a correction. It’s F, Neutral, D, DF2. It’s also a just frame meaning you press 2 the exact same frame you press DF.
I was suprised to see this video, mostly because it came during 7 ish o' clock

Out of curiosity when you play tekken how do you hold your controller

oh.
That Kazuya was OD. It was probably a veteran player coming from console to pc.
More Tekken I'm not complaining
That man kazuya playing on red rank
I just want to point out that you look just like the keef crew character for Tekken.
HELL YEAH! LETS GET TO WAVEDASHING
So did the term wave dash originally come from tekken?
I honestly don't know where the term came from but Tekken was the first game I ever heard it used for.
Ah
I mostly only heard it from smash bros melee and I know terms that are in the series as a whole come from other fighting games.
It actually did come from tekken. Tekken tag tournament.
Yooooooo! Why she got so much sauce
You know how I do
Not the demo... damn
Lotus what do you say in your outro before you say later? I’ve been trying to understand it but you talk too fast lol

I see so she a crip or a blood?
I see the pink high tops, they looking a lil cleeeeean! hol up

that kazuya is for sure a smurf cause i've faced alot of kazuya's and majority don't really know how to punish extremely punishable strings
