At age 76, I'm enthusiastic because the Holy Spirit animates me when I read Scripture and do lectio divina. "Blessed are they who hear the Word of God and keep. it." I know more about Social Justice than anything else. I had a good conversation this past Saturday when a Franciscan friar asked me what I thought about the bishops' meeting at the Synod Synodality. He shared that he could see having women priests. He follows directions from women, like his mom, all the. time. I reflected that there would be a schism if the Church approved of the L.G.B.T. lifestyle.
“What do you know about more than anybody else in the world”? It’s a blessing for me to have been on this earth for over 60 years. What a learning experience it has been!! Not one dull moment, good or bad. The gospels makes more sense than ever before. Love this video.
I like this idea! Asking someone what they are reading is great. The idea of asking someone what they are good at is also wonderful. I find social situations where there’s a meet and greet the most challenging. There have been times when I meet someone and after a few minutes , the person walks away to talk to someone else. I can’t understand why people do that. It’s rude and insulting.
Blessed Saturday, Matthew! 1st off I love your podcasts, I look for them each day, & always learn & enjoy them. Now, I have been sick , for some time, & found yet another of your; this morning, & you have such a beautiful blue sweater & shirt on this fine day, to be sure; & I digress. Now within the 1st couple of minutes; I was both crying & laugh ing when you spoke about our enthusiasm for life. When you spoke of little children, asking why; & then over & over doing so! Your description of that little scene., took me back to when our daughter would do; just as you described, in that same way.!So **** thank you for that, because it helped me feel so much better during my sickness. I do so believe that the love for wanting to be enthusiastic is being driven out by the idea; that we should all be & think in the same way. That is not what our "Dear Lord" ever in tended for us. We may have certain limitations, or obstacles; but as they say where; there is a will there is a way. Of course; then ask from our Lord; to show us what His will is for us. A timy signal grace from Heaven. Surely, we will then find our true enthus iasm for our life; & maybe touch the life of another along our way! Jeanine Faith Marie Fitzpatrick-Lewakowski

My Dad used to say, “All we need to be happy in life is to have something to be enthusiastic about.” Or, even more simple, something to look forward to. Great topic on this. Thanks Matthew!

Okay I have to ask why not 7? Is it because 7 is too easy to pick as a comfortable rating and forces us to commit a bit deeper on an issue? Just curious. .
I like the “empty theater aesthetic”: intriguing but not distracting.
Thanks, Patrick!
