At first it was serious, but after the third time it's just kinda a weekend thing where Bowser does his best to take over the mushroom kingdom and everyone is fine with it
Peach wrecks so much shit in the castle and that's why most of the time we find her she's in a cage or restrained or the room she's in is completely empty, Bowser knows to limit her

@@draw_tist0593Not theory. Nintendo themselves say that they are actors in their respective roles more or less so that depending on the game they can be allies, enemies, what have you.
Fun Fact: Peach changes the inflection of her voice for each play. The action oriented ones give her a deeper voice while the light-hearted ones have her keep her higher pitch. It reflects the levels of danger in each one and that as an actress you change your voice for each role.
i think that's probably why she has a different VA for this game. much more versatility.

Peach went from being the Avatar to being sailor moon/a God/ super saiyan
My theory is that Peach feels bad for Mario and Luigi because she knows how much stronger she is than them. So she lets herself get kidnapped so that they can get the glory and attention. Like seriously whenever she's playable or gets the chance to show her power she puts the Bros to shame.
I mean in Bowsers Inside story she casually throws bowser out of her castle with some magic bullshit. She’s easily one of the most powerful characters in the Mario universe. She’s just good at hiding it.

Its funny, because all the other costumes are set up on a stage with the implication that everyone is aware its a play to some degree, but when peach gets her Ultimate form its not a play, she is just straight up flying and shooting lazers.

Honestly this game gave me a massive appreciation for Peach as a character since I did like her before hand, but her animations, voice lines and character in this game just made me love her
I loved her ever since I played as her in Mario Strikers, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario 3D World and Super Smash Bros.

This game is basically saying Peach is capable of ANY role you put her in. Whatever it is, she can adapt and excel at it.
I get why some people feel like Showtime is a bit lackluster but this pretty fantastic as Peach's first staring role in nearly 20 years.
Glad she got the spotlight.
The game is good for what it is, but it could have been better. If it had been longer and had more intense challenges, I think it would have easily been a 10/10 game. They could have just stuck all they hard bits in the post-game like most other Nintendo titles, and it would have still been fine.
if this was half the price, it'd be so value. but alas
Hopefully this game does well enough so Peach can get next installment that's even better.
Maybe it’s success will encourage Nintendo to make more Peach games with more challenging, robust gameplay
If they had released when I was a kid, I would have adored it. I mean it's still very cute, I love Peach getting the magical girl treatment and all the different levels look fun, but it looks too simple for me as an adult. But I'm sure the kids will like it.

Ok but as a grown woman who tried to 100% the second baker level, the timing is *way* more precise than it needs to be. I even looked up guides out of curiosity and sure enough the Princess Peach Showtime subreddit has multiple posts about other people struggling with it
I had never seen the game over screen until I watched this video. It makes me happy that I'm better than Alpharad in at least one game. I'm sure he'd kick my ass in plenty of others, but I'll always have this one.

so as funny as the persona 5 references are, peach's phantom thief costume is actually a long-standing archetype in japan! inspired by lupin and sherlock holmes, the 1930s author Edogawa Ranpo wrote a detective series starring Kogoro Akechi (sound familiar?), and later a rival phantom thief character called the Fiend With Twenty Faces. the whole mask, suit, grappling, glider, etc, are all elements from that archetype that p5 popularized recently. other examples are the thief from detective conan and masque demask from ace attorney.

If they don’t change her moveset entirely they should change her final smash into (Super) Radiant Peach. Also give her float ability sparkle effects. Maybe change one of her taunts to add Stella/her ribbon like Mario’s taunt with Cappy.
