46 years ago, a rising star was born. She's talented, she's a performer, she's a dancer, she's a choreographer, she's a singer, she's popular, she's famous, she's a good-looking, she's cute, she's funny, she's sweet, she's nice, she's an artist, she's an icon, she's an actress, she's sexy, she's a legend and she also known as the Princess Of R&B. I want to wish the late and great legendary singer Aaliyah Haughton a Happy Heavenly 46th Birthday. I really wish she would still be alive right now. She would have celebrated her 46th birthday today. It's still so sad that she lost her life in a plane crash, at the age of 22. She had her whole life ahead of her. Her singing career was just the beginning in her life. She would have made it to the top of the music industry because she would have became a huge star in R&B. Like I said, Happy Heavenly 46th Birthday to you, Aaliyah.🎉🎈🎂. May continue to Rest In Peace. January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001.😢👼🕊️.
Aaliyah is amazingly talented such a beautiful voice she has the queen of R & B music isn’t like this anymore it’s changed so much over the years I miss the 90s. No one can ever replace her or be like her she truly was one in a million like her song. She is a role model an icon a strong woman who is respected by everyone in the music industry she was loved by so many people and always will be .22 is so young she had so much life in her and it was taken away from her. She was at the height of her career I used to watch Aaliyahs music videos all the time after she passed ever since then I loved the music. Their is no other singers out their like her. No one has her style her .she was fashionable and stylish I liked how edgy it was too the clothes she wore in her music videos not everyone can wear that and look good but she always did.

Still hurts and seems unreal that Aaliyah is no longer with us. Sad cause her death was so avoidable. Her handlers and record company treated her like she was second rate as opposed to something really special. RIP Baby Girl.
“Second rate” is not true. Her brother, has said that she was always accompanied by at least one family member. He finds it strange that the one time she wasn’t led to such a tragic end. The deaths of her and eight others was avoidable, though. If the plane wasn’t overloaded, I don’t think it would have crashed.

I always felt like that song with Gwen Stefani and Eve suited Aaliyah. The swag and style Gwen Stefani had while riding on motorcycles with Eve would have been iconic with Aaliyah. Two dope black chicks with style and attitude. Would have been a classic representation.
U sure bout that?🤨 I think blind by popularity. Ur statement is an insult on those two's bodies of work. She not vocalistic better thn either of those two.
I remember getting so excited when her new video would drop because you know the Beat, Style, Dancing was gonna be off the charts. I recall an interview (after her passing) with her dance choreographer and she said there was very little to instruct Aaliyah because she was just a naturally good dancer.
Yep and she came out in 1994 when she was 14 but she was exploited by r kelly cause her produced her debut album but then aaliyah found her sound in 1996 with timbaland and missy elliot and ran with it and made hit after hit with those 2 at the producing helm.
To think there was actually a time where it was her at the top and not beyoncé. So much talent gone so soon. She would have done so much 😢❤ I would have loved too see Aaliyah do a superbowl halftime show
Bro with the secret society and this in the industry Justice is an illusion the we the people fight for her they’re resources will prevail so let’s enjoy the memories she left through her music and interviews
I literally cried for two weeks after she died. (Then September 11th hit.) She was already a star but was on the verge of superstardom (was just in Queen of the Damned, had been cast in the last Matrix movie, was on a ton of magazine covers that month, talking about how it was her time, etc.). All these years later, and I still think about her. Such a loss. This was and always will be my favorite song of hers. It made me feel empowered, confident, and beautiful when I listened to it. She remains forever young and beautiful here, but I truly wish I could have seen her maturing with me. 😢
Aaliyah's death hit me hard. And when I say hard, I mean HARD. I cried off and on for 6 months. Even watching and listening to her music after all these years still makes me want to cry. I miss Baby Girl so much! 🥺
Still feel as if just hearing of that day as it was mentioned tho 20+ yrs later Not only to our ears but our hearts & souls & minds & mental comprehension of plz don't let it be so We only just began from her intro of Back & Forth goin forward of what's in stall for timeless individuality organic "this is what I do & gonna share with the world" what true art of my purpose is suppose to give Aaliyah IS the blueprint of It Is what it is & will remain as 💯
That is such Bullshit. Black women topped all of the charts in the late 90s/early 00s in Europe. Ashanti, Toni Braxton, Lauryn Hill, Mary J Blige, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, All Saints, TLC, Aaliyah, Mya, Brandy & Monica, En Vogue, Kelis, Missy Elliott, Eve, Lil Kim, Blu Cantrell, Faith Evans, Truth Hurts, Erykah Badu, Des’ree
I think it makes us cry because literally everything about it is top tier (every look , the elite choreo , the backdrop is random but somehow totally fits the badass aesthetic and is organized) adult Aaliyah was a real problem that we didn't get to FINISH and celebrate with her ..... Even Static passed in the early 2000s ..
I remember crying watching this video because i knew we would NEVER get another one from her. I remember getting the news of her death on that cold August Atlanta morning listening to V-103 and i remember my grandma holding me tight telling me that it was going to be okay. Truth is music has never been as impressive to me since her passing. You SHOULD BE HERE BABY GIRL!!! And now knowing all that i learned of her since growing up I'm so sorry you weren't protected and cared for, we didn't know.
Yea she was stunning and in 2001 I met a Dominican girl from the party line that said she looked like aaliyah and she wasn't kidding she looked like her doppelganger just a little younger and thicker in the hips and ass body part but same pretty face just like aaliyah.
This one of those music videos that is truly the definition of timeless and innovative. Was it filmed in 2001? 2010? Or 2021? It fits all 3 decades, and the sound is still super fresh as if it was produced for today’s generation. My personal favorite Aaliyah song.
lol this is clearly a late 90’s music video. look at the graphic and the “space shuttle” vibe going on. Everyone did that back then. all the boybands, britney, christina, missy elliott. but it’s a good song tho! she wouldve made a couple hits I bet.
@@bjornlatulippe4908 this video was filmed in August 2001. I’m sure u weren’t even born then . Btw she had many hits if you look at them . Wikipedia is your best friend today . Look up Try Again which was #1 hot 100 with just radio air play, Are You That Somebody, One In A Million, The One I Gave my Heart To, At Your Best, 4 page Letter, Rock The Boat . Timeless. AALIYAH will forever remain the the highest and most exalted one. 🕊️✨

Yup she lived up to her name
Is she a gawd??
Often imitated....never duplicated....RIP BABY GAL
Lord, help us. I like Aaliyah and I get her name but she is NOT Jesus. Stop tripping.
Love the whole video the fact she dancing inside and riding a motorcycle ❤️🔥
Who here in 2024?!
Here
Ya because she’s timeless ❤
Timeless!

Beyonce and Rihanna combined cannot surpass Aaliyah,a career cut short but she will always be a legend
U sure bout that?🤨 I think blind by popularity. Ur statement is an insult on those two's bodies of work. She not vocalistic better thn either of those two.
Got an answer who killed her now...
@Ks-101false..lol. beyonce was still tied to destiny child. her solo career wasn't touching Aaliyah at the time
Please don't compare these women. They are all well known, international legends
Beyonce can't touch her.@Ks-101
The choreography is just 🔥, she is deeply missed every single day.
In 2023 we have 5 minutes Crafts Rest with the Accolades.
I remember getting so excited when her new video would drop because you know the Beat, Style, Dancing was gonna be off the charts. I recall an interview (after her passing) with her dance choreographer and she said there was very little to instruct Aaliyah because she was just a naturally good dancer.
She was naturally talented and loved dance. All her videos she danced in no matter how subtle it was she was definitely giving her presence
i am telling u everyday. its really sad sometimes to think that she no longer here. it doenst feel like that.
She was so ahead of her time: her style, her outfit, her make-up, her music...flawless and so talented. She was one of the kind! Forever Aaliyah! ❤
Trueeee. She was.
She made it look so effortless. What a talent. I love you forever, Aaliyah.
Aaliyah paved the way for a lot of the R&B artists, like Mya and Ashanti.
Yep and she came out in 1994 when she was 14 but she was exploited by r kelly cause her produced her debut album but then aaliyah found her sound in 1996 with timbaland and missy elliot and ran with it and made hit after hit with those 2 at the producing helm.
This song is so so addictive. I must've heard it hundreds of times and yet it sounds fresh on every listen.
Perfect way to explain. I heard it on my shuffle again and was reminded of how timeless it is. Sheesh. Can’t stop playing it
It was my favorite song when she first came out with it back then and it's still my favorite song now. Yes, it's addictive. 😊
June 2023 ✊🏿
To think there was actually a time where it was her at the top and not beyoncé. So much talent gone so soon. She would have done so much 😢❤ I would have loved too see Aaliyah do a superbowl halftime show
Beyonce was in destiny’s child during 1999-2004 and she was outselling Aaliyah
@Sxo-y9g Beyonce's numbers has nothing to do with me and neither do I care. I'm here for Aaliyah ❤️
And that was why she was dead. Beyoncé had plan to go solo and Aaliyah was the main threat to that top position
She was and will be always real queen
I have been a Aaliyah fan for years and I feel like if she was still here she would be huge no doubt about it
自分も、同じです。
she was only 22 here…she was just breathtaking, so flawless. she is forever missed!
Justice for Aaliyah !
I boo hoo'd! 😭😭😭
😢
Aaliyah's death hit me hard. And when I say hard, I mean HARD. I cried off and on for 6 months. Even watching and listening to her music after all these years still makes me want to cry. I miss Baby Girl so much! 🥺
Still feel as if just hearing of that day as it was mentioned tho 20+ yrs later Not only to our ears but our hearts & souls & minds & mental comprehension of plz don't let it be so We only just began from her intro of Back & Forth goin forward of what's in stall for timeless individuality organic "this is what I do & gonna share with the world" what true art of my purpose is suppose to give Aaliyah IS the blueprint of It Is what it is & will remain as 💯
There’s a video on RUclips where Beyonce is interviewing Aaliyah (or vice versa) and Beyoncé looks star struck by Aaliyah’s beauty, grace and swag
The world wasn’t ready for a Black American woman phoenix like Aaliyah. May her wings take her far in Heaven.
That is such Bullshit. Black women topped all of the charts in the late 90s/early 00s in Europe. Ashanti, Toni Braxton, Lauryn Hill, Mary J Blige, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, All Saints, TLC, Aaliyah, Mya, Brandy & Monica, En Vogue, Kelis, Missy Elliott, Eve, Lil Kim, Blu Cantrell, Faith Evans, Truth Hurts, Erykah Badu, Des’ree
This video always makes me cry. We miss you so much Aaliyah!
Same it holds so much memories and feelings ❤️🥺
Same Aaliyah was everything about to conquer the entire entertainment world
I think it makes us cry because literally everything about it is top tier (every look , the elite choreo , the backdrop is random but somehow totally fits the badass aesthetic and is organized) adult Aaliyah was a real problem that we didn't get to FINISH and celebrate with her ..... Even Static passed in the early 2000s ..
Idem
I remember crying watching this video because i knew we would NEVER get another one from her. I remember getting the news of her death on that cold August Atlanta morning listening to V-103 and i remember my grandma holding me tight telling me that it was going to be okay. Truth is music has never been as impressive to me since her passing. You SHOULD BE HERE BABY GIRL!!! And now knowing all that i learned of her since growing up I'm so sorry you weren't protected and cared for, we didn't know.
Me too! 🌹🌹🌹
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 thank you x
She was so incredibly beautiful!
Yea she was stunning and in 2001 I met a Dominican girl from the party line that said she looked like aaliyah and she wasn't kidding she looked like her doppelganger just a little younger and thicker in the hips and ass body part but same pretty face just like aaliyah.
Always rated Aaliyah as a dancer/ entertainer. She really was ahead of her time. Ciara is a close second.
Her star was too bright for this cruel world....more talent, class, and style in one finger than most of the girls out there today.
Very sad she didn't live fully her life, she died too young , she had so much to give to music industry. She was classy, nice, humble and talented.
She did this all by the time she was 22 years old!!!! Your favorite could NEVER!!!!!
@@bjornlatulippe4908 this looks nothing like a late 90’s video because its not its a 2000’s vid but it definitely looks like it could have been released in the last 5 years
@@bjornlatulippe4908 you timing off this is 2001 yall quick to scream 90s when she made the y2k era bye

I actually met her in LA during this video shoot and got a signed pic with her and she was super nice about it when I asked her. The pic is still sitting in my living room to this day too
She would have definitely been BIGGER if she had made it :( 00s music industry would have been at her feet...
Effortlessly classy, effortlessly beautiful. Transcendent. Ethereal. Simply stunning. Aaliyah inspired my fashion sense, her music and dance moves made me wanna be a black Queen like her. I love you, Aaliyah. We miss you, baby girl ❤

No foul mouth , pure music . natural beauty . Hard to find that now days
