Drove both manual and sportshift before purchase thinking that I’d prefer the manual. At the time I didn’t think I’d like the sportshift. How wrong I was, absolutely loved it. I found it to be more involving to drive and the downshift is insanely addictive. Plus, in traffic it’s a pussycat😃👍🏻
Keep in mind that the V12VS has Michelin PS4Ss on and - with the BR power upgrade - will bother the traction control all the way until 3rd to 4th (and maybe beyond, but you've run out of speed limit by then).
I love the 60 mph reference 🙂I had a N400, recently changed to an AMG Vantage, but just don't like it. Therefore I am about to change to it to a V12 s Roadster Sportshift - thanks mainly to your great reviews...
How would you compare the V12 Vantage to a Vanquish of the same era ? 2014 or so ? I'd love to get into a V12 but need the rear seats . Don't particularly want a Rapide... Would it be the same level of enjoyment?

@@astonmartin4360Right. Because if I’m buying something to sit in traffic, I’m definitely buying a 6 litre V12 Coupe. These small V12 Coupes make the most sense with a manual if, as the maker intended, you’re buying one to enjoy that V12. This is borne out by virtue of the fact that whenever the question of investment or appreciation comes up, it’s always the manuals that are discussed - nobody fights over the autos if manuals are available.
Merc and Aston shouldn't be in the same sentance.I hate the latest cars. They look weird and are no where near as good to look at as the DB9,DBS and Vantage of the previous era.The Germans bombed my Grannies chip shop in 1940.lol

I did the same John. I thought I’d prefer the manual. However the Sportshift 3 is really involving and brilliant to use.
Perfect question for me. Looking at DBS at the moment
If course it’s the manual. Let’s go. End it there… 😉

It is amazing how the Aston’s sound and look a lot faster than the national speed limit in these tests 🤔🤣
Some clever editing, is my guess. 🤭
Manual. A proper driver’s car. I love mine, even after 8 years. It’s a keeper.
Excellent video, thanks
Noise of both is absolutely amazing be happy with either . Great vid
The cars both had GREAT sound.... But, this vid only had R channel audio for a large section!
Yeah, I had the same problem. Assumed Mike had gone deaf in one ear.

What about the 7 speed v12s manual? Unicorn

Used car prices in the UK are just on another (low) level then almost anywhere else…
Interesting take on the gearbox
Manual for me. Manual 6L v12, holy grail 🙏
Trust me.Manual is a pain in the arse.Unless you live outside a city.I swapped my manual DB9 for an auto.So much better in traffic.
@@astonmartin4360 I’ve got a manual and love it. The sportshift system 1&2 I really don’t rate. And they can be problematic

Excellent comment.
Great vid.
That noise!

six-speed manual any day.
just need the extra seats to get the 6 year old in
Now talk about the reliability and running costs
Mine has been great. If that helps at all.
And mine. (V12V manual) All good
Vantage 12 for 80 k? Haha. In your dreams. Wrong even a year ago when this vid was posted.
