    Can’t be too mad about this season from a Boston perspective in my opinion. I think this series showed they had gone as far as they were gonna go. They had clear strengths (Swayman) but also clear flaws, and you’re not gonna win a Cup with clear flaws unless you get incredibly lucky. As a Bruins fan, I believe they overachieved this season and I was very happy to see them playing in the second round, but Florida was by far the better team. As many people have said, the only reason it went 6 games was because of Swayman. You can't score one or two goals every game and expect your goalie to throw a shutout. And in all honesty, I thought the officiating was excellent tonight. The fans were just begging. A power play wouldn't help the Bruins anyway, the way they executed when they had one. Will be an interesting offseason. Instead of signing these one and done veterans, maybe it is time for a rebuild. There are still enough good players to be competitive, but without a major overhaul, this team will not go far for years.

    As a Panthers fan since they started the franchise, playing the Bruins is always a nail biter...especially when so much is on the line for both organizations. Call it what you want for the B's, rebuilding, retooling, low expectations, it doesn't matter. You can never count out anything unexpected from happening. You only need to look back at last year's playoff in the first round, between the Bruins and Panthers, to see where I make my point. Any given day...in ANY professional sports, you just can't say it's over until the last second has clicked off the clock or the last out is made. I am going to enjoy being neutral for that series. It's been exciting having an emotional investment in three of four series, but a break from that is nice too. That's where I am as much a hockey fan as I am of any specific team.

    I understand why people are complaining about the officiating. But as a Bruins fan, you cannot blame the series loss on it. This team has had some major flaws all season. They've rarely been able to play a full 60 minutes, and some games they just didn't show up at all. There are more problems, but those are major ones that proved to be costly in the playoffs. Florida absolutely deserved this win. Swayman can only put the team on his back for so long.

  • @TheSlashmaster7
    @TheSlashmaster7 5 месяцев назад

    I gotta agree the better team won. Was there slight hope they would bring it back and at least have a 7th game...sure. The only thing I have to say about this game is Swayman deserved a better fate. I don't wanna say he "cost" them the game because...duh, he didn't. But that last goal was definitely one you'd like a save. And I only say that because of how out his mind he played all playoffs. I just wish if they had lost it woulda been on a crazy snipe or tick tac toe type deal. I hope Swayman doesn't beat himself up over that one or blame himself for the teams fate. Jim Montgomery said it best after the game. You can't win every game in the playoffs 2-1. Number 1 center is a must this offseason. I just hope it's not at the cost of Ullmark. See you in October B's

    The number of complaints about Boston not getting favourable calls is funny. The reasons they lost: lack of team toughness, untimely defensive miscues, an inability to generate and sustain offensive pressure.
    The better team won.

    Boston had one player, Swayman. Almost stole the entire series on his own. I was getting more and more nervous with each game and each save. I was saving my lucky charm for game 7, looks like I get to save it for the Rangers series. Good news, Dallas won. Now to see what Vancouver does.

    The fact that Boston re-signed Wotherspoon is just astounding. He is absolutely the worst player on the ice (for either team) whenever he plays. Constantly misses passes (which often lead to icing calls), turns the puck over, has terrible gaps, takes dumb penalties...etc. Every time he and Peeke were out there, they were always hemmed in their own zone for their entire shift. Really not looking forward to another season of that. I didn't know hardly anything about him before this season, but now it's blatantly clear why he was a career AHL-er before this season. I would certainly hope the Bruins can find a few more serviceable defensemen this offseason so he can play in Providence (or if another team wants to claim him on waivers, feel free).
    And dear God...whoever is in charge of the defense; figure out your changes. 7 Too Many Men penalties in 13 games is just flat embarrassing.

    • @TheHockeyGuy
