My interest in this game has been forever lost to the newer and better BAR game! But I still enjoy all the unorthodox strategies that only Uthermal does!!
Seems like Jumy woke up in the last game, the defense was on point. Any non-pro would've folded probably to that double/tripple pronged harassment, but that was approving-headnod-impressive.
I know I may be shouting into the void, but I just want to shout out your entertaining qualities. I have never played sc2 in my life, I dont even know what a gold base is but I love watching a lot of your videos.
he noticed your shout into the void ;) Gold base = faster mining than 'regular' base. But you're right, the intricacies of a game, anything reallly, don't matter much when the streamer keeps you entertained with his character. Reminds me of history teachers...
I have a theory that the crazier the strat that uthermal does, the better he will generally do. As random somewhat encourages him to do something crazy, random might legitimately be his best race.
I am not sure if Marc knows but Dutch cheese here in America is highly enjoyed import. Marcs videos are his way of assisting with the export of Hollands finest cheeses.
Lots of fun to watch as your content always is. I really enjoy when you play against other players who cast an hearing their side of things. I’m always hoping to hear from the opponents about their impressions of the experience. Maybe through messages or maybe they would like to add a few words after that could be included to expand the totality of the show. Or maybe I’m just babbling.
I thought the last game would be in the bag if you had creep spread connecting your bases. Your zerg is always the most fun to watch, but also the most painful.
Still hoping to see "Gold Base to GM" where your first expansion MUST be in a gold mineral/purple vespene base if the map has one. Better yet, you have to take ALL such bases before even taking your natural.
You’re the best Thermy. Love ya buddy ❤️. I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years now and saw you playing and commentating prob almost 10 years ago it seems not sure if it’s been that long but I think so lol time flies. Thanks for being such a good guy bud me and a lot of people appreciate you dude 🫡
overmind/kerrigan don't like this. Larvae is supposed to be daft. Making workers/drones powerful is a similar mistake. Try making them do work ;) Kerrigan specifically should be very aware, since she toplled the entire zerg structure by being too powerful -.- 'You dare threaten a cerebrate?!...'.
@@Levm17 He is the first Protoss on Aligulac though, and his track record against Harstem in pro play is really good (won the last 22 games since 2021)
Let's be real, this challenge is great practice for the upcoming tournament. Marc is looking strong. In the last game, I don't know why Marc didn't spare a little APM to expand while the opponent was on the back foot. He ended up with a base trade on an even number of bases... The recall by the opponent sealed the win for him.
need to expand faster with z imho it allows fewer drones per mineral line and more production making macro easier, (you can bank a bit) transition in larger production cycles, buying more time to micro, I mean, with z you are always 5000 apm behind.
I really want to see a baneling drop mind game, drop hydras and lings then the opponent groups his units under your overlords, then bam, baneling drop this time
You say a ling drop strategy will never beat a pro player, but I saw a Winter cast the other day of Harstem vs. a very clever Zerg player who did ling drops to poor Harstem and won in a tournament match Probably triggered Harstem's uThermal PTSD lmao
Noob here, but I just had an idea. What if you use a barracks for vision, but you also land it in enemy base and bait dps away from your Marines by churning out more Marines. They might prioritize the barracks, which you can cancel production and fly away, land, repeat. Can bring scv's for repair, or even drop mules. Could even have 2 barracks that alternate repairing in a safe landing zone nearby.
That first game looks like what happened to me on my first game on the ladder (except that I lasted even less long and had no idea what was happening hahah)
uThermal, being the good guy he is and subconsciously miss-shift-clicking to give Jummy the win. Anyone can play sober but try to play against shinanigans when you are hungover :D
been loving your content. Love that you prefer to have fun playing the game rather than just doing the same meta build every game. keep up the good work :)
Don't forget to triple check your hotkeys/rapidfire for the tournament, that would be so tragic 😄😄 I feel bad for the guy, especially if he's also training since I believe Random in not even allowed ? I might be wrong tho 😅 But to be fair he did made a lot of small mistakes (for his mmr) the first games tho, and there is no shame to aknowledge that. GG to him for the mental strength and the last one was a really nice game.
@@laurelkeeper"Random" is basically treated like a fourth faction, so yes, it's almost universally allowed. Also, a few pros do (or at least did) officially declare their faction as such, but they're rare and none have made it to the upper ranks, at least not without switching to single-faction play first (IIRC, Reynor began his career as random). Being unable to focus one's practice on perfecting play with a single race is just too much of a disadvantage. Having said that, though, Reynor's Protoss is almost as good as his Zerg, and I've heard Maru has been one of the top Protosses on the Korean ladder, I think in a Lowko cast of a 2v2 tournament where Maru played Protoss. He's certainly good enough that he could play Protoss professionally, but he's definitely much better at playing Terran.
I feel extra dumb even asking this, but when I build something I select the building from a hotkey, and then I shift click for the worker to go back to what they were doing previously, obviously, I don't need to do that. So what precisely am I doing wrong to just be able to build something willy nilly without worrying about followup? Are you clicking the minimap? Is there a button to say "just do this"?
i think pro players, and marc as well, sometimes dont shift click back the workers to the mineral as they can serve as reminders when they finish building. They can then just click the ctrl + idle worker button to select all idle workers and right click them to minerals or make them do other jobs. This saves them the hassle of clicking mining workers to build. The awareness needed for this to work while doing all kinds of micro and macro is obviously hard but then again they're the pros.
What do you do ZvT into 1/1/1 double reactor? i just got cheesed by a 1base Terran. I was thinking he was going mech harass into MM, but he went mech harass into liberator waves, 2@4:30m, then 2+2 more. i handled the first two, but couldnt kill or mine around the next 4.
Honestly, I think you could've won the last game if you expanded more, made upgrades and mixed in zerglings with your army in the latter half. Because of constant pressure, drops and 3 previous games you made your opponent overly defensive, which made the drops less effective and expanding easier. With more bases you could afford upgrades without sacrificing army. With lings you could've killed the disruptors whenever he moved out.
In the fourth game would corruptor work instead of roach? He didn't have a lot of stalkers, mainly adept, and I feel like the corruptor vomit shenanigans on his nexus would have been clutch in that low eco situation.
Your content reignited my interest for SC, which had died off over the years. Keep up the good work and good luck with the upcoming tournament!
I just wanted to write the same. 😅😂🎉
