Very excited for to follow you along this training block. Brings back good memories of when I first found your channel. I train myself also. I have been running seriously for a little over 15 years. At 52 I consider myself blessed every time I turn that doorknob.
Love seeing you publishing more frequently! I generally use Hanson plans, and I too started running in 1997! First marathon in 2001. I’m hearing more and more about the effectiveness of strides in getting speed back, so I don’t think there’s any harm to getting them in super duper early in a block to help get your muscle memory tapping into it. Cheers.
are they running about 14,000 foot mountains 6 months of the year ? It's just a different animal to make that transition. Thanks for being here Shannon.
QOD: my husband writes my training plans! I was unsure at first but he wanted to do it for my half marathon, he took me from a 1:57 to a 1:43, so now I am happy to let him do it! 😊
Keep up the great training and hope you feel better! QOD- I'm a coach and utilize the plans I create on my own but also use resources from reputeable sources. One of the resources I like I've used for some time is McMillan running and also utilizing VDOT calculator which seems to help keep me in line with my paces.
love hearing your training plans! I know its not everyones cup of tea but i love hearing about all the nerdy book stuff about running. More Lydiard! Any other books influences to look into???
QOD: I have been training under the coaching of The Sneaker Store Run Coaching here in New Hartford NY. I’ve been coached by them for the last couple years. I like taking the guesswork out of the equation and just focusing on training. Always good to have another set of eyes on the data helping to forge the path to success.
1:43 I am afraid your approach of these two weeks leans more towards to Maffetone than to Lydiard's Method. If I am not mistaken, Lydiard was the guy who promoted the approach of building the aerobic base running in the steady state zone (Middle Intensity Training, RPE 5-6 out of ten), which today we know is less efficient than LIT for capillarisation and mytochondria production and can more likely lead to overtraining issues such as injuries and illnesses). While your 2 Weeks Plan shown in the vlog assumes more emphasising on Low intensity training RPE 1-3
QoD: Using Hanson's advanced marathon plan this go round... very different philosophy than I've done in the past with speed work front loaded in the block. The results so far have been fantastic.
Hey Seth, why feel the need to lay the aerobic base when it seems like it’s already there for you after years of marathons and mountain running? Thanks from Australia.
Great content, as always! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
@@SethJamesDeMoor Yeah, but a channel of your size with that many subscribers doesn't just stall at an exact number like that. It is odd. Well, we'll keep watching and will always cheer for another local!
Good to see your videos more often.
2024 horribleness is behind us!
Aaaand Seth is back! He has a goal, he’s working towards it, he’s taking us along for the journey. Strap yourself in DGR!!
Crazy 2024 is in the rear view mirror!

I'm having a flashback to my high school cross country coach drawing the Lydiard triangle on the black board and explaining the base training volume !

Nice Eric!!!
I've been running since I started watching your videos... 2017? 2018? One of those. Cheers DGR
Brilliant.
The roaming colds. The only thing I don't miss about my kids when they were little.
I hear you on the household colds. Vicious cycle.
We're going to make it through!

I've used the Hanson Training Method, but like to tweak it to fit my needs and abilities.
nice Scott!
This room you’ve been filming in lately reminds me of the old shoedio!
Shoedio 3.0

I started using runna but I’m not sure I like their schedule and plan yet.
Understood. Hard to customize through an app. Keep us all posted.
Seth, why are you stuck on 171K subscribers? Hasn't moved in months. What's the deal? Glad to see you're doing some road races this year. Good stuff!
Going to be fun!
I'm not your typical runner on youtube so I'll never have a huge channel, which is all the better in my books

@SethJamesDeMoor we all love your channel, but clearly, there is something else going on with your subscriber count. Were you flagged or something?
Injured right now from PF and suppose to run a marathon on march 2 😢
Sorry to read this Andy, I hope you can overcome it.
doh....its 2025
Can't be!!
I beg your pardon
