Am I the only one who barely sees any visual improvement? In fact, in some cases FS19 looks a bit better!
Its basically the same as FS19 with retouched lighting and shadows. Disspointment since the game was delayed a whole year with the main reason being "Next gen" led many to think it was going to be a brand new engine FOR next gen. Which had Giants gone that route the delay would have made sense, but they didnt.
yeah in fs22 when u turn cars/tractors lights it lags as shit
@@junkiexl86 How about better particles, parallax occlusion, ambient occlusion, better textures
And improved gameplay obviously
@@dragos5640 could have been a free update
@@koenfje I mean hey if you wanna buy it and support the devs then cool. If not, just don't do it
I believe the reason why 19 looks more realistic is that they probably are using somekind of toon shader in 22. There was some kind of trend where game developers adopt these kind of shaders to their games but I am not sure if that works for farming simulator.
i think focus entertainment stopped publishing the game and giants did it themselves
I love it
To me exterior vehicle views look a little better in FS19 while interior definitely looks better in FS22. In all the videos I've seen of FS22 it's seem like the colors are oversaturated or something. Is it just me? The shadowing and detailing on the exterior vehicle views just seems off.
Definitely oversaturated. I felt that way about FS19 as well though. 17 had a more authentic color palette.
I had same thoughts at first. But it seems that American map in fs22 suffers from it the most. It's not so bad on French map. Still not great, but it can be remedied with Nvidia filters tho if you are on PC
Fs 22 tractors look more like plastic toys fs19 look more realistic
@@Black9924v and barely. FS17 was the last time it looked like a sim
You need the update trust me it will make it a lot better
wow 19 looks so more nature and overall environments are beautiful
Thought 19 version was much better in the crops graphics. More natural. The vegetation for 22 looks like a background for Mario World! Why are the developers so frightened of grim and bud on a farming sim?
Im thinking they did that to make the game run better
There is alot of stuff in fs 22 and to have all that they had to gain some speed somewhere
This is just my opinion
Disappointed, non of the big features we asked for, just basically some small retouches and some mods are now included in the base game, never mind the countless bugs. 50$ btw.
You are one hundred percent on the spot, I'm also diappointed, I do not see ANY major update to this game, it's not even worth for an update to FS19 and considered that they made it into a whole new game. Adding new vehicle basically does nothing since MOD exist, I would expect a whole new game engine update that could potentially make this game look a little more realistic. I do not see any potential in this game anymore, at least try not to make a new game, instead, focus on Farming Simulator rather than making so many versions of individual games of it. Focus on one and release updates every once and a while.
FS2024? 2026? That's dumb.
The video doesn't show the game as it actually is! I mean, not even the seed drill was activated while driving across the field to demonstrate the new soundscape.
It's gotten good reviews on steam and one guy that reviewed it on youtube seemed to think it was the best Farming Simulator they've released recently, said he was disappointed in 17 and 19 but liked 22. I donno if he was paid to say that or if it's true.
Graphically it certainly doesn't look like there has been any real improvement, but perhaps the gameplay is better.
It always has bugs. It won't even run on middle of the road computers. Nvidia released a driver update that is supposed to optimize the game for you but IT won't work either. The best thing to do is set the in-game graphics settings at the lowest you can, and just pretend you're playing Farm Simulator 17.
It’s been awhile now since the release of ‘22 and I still think ‘19 looks better.
But really it’s the performance that keeps me with ‘19, easy to run 144hz.
For some reason I have never been able to play 22 it runs rough even with my new 7900 XTX GPU
The water looks so much better in 19. Not sure if its more realistic or not but it looks like there is wind physics happening as apposed flat water in 22

FS22 should've been an update, not a full price game.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Nah
i agree, i regret paying for this game at a price when the graphics are sh!t... pfffff. it's worth 10 bucks with the graphics it has. I mean wtf, monopoly plus graphics are better than this crap
They run on different engines would be one reason why it could not just be an update
Graphics look somewhat better ..... what matters to me is if the physics are better! And they appear to be the same ..... especially with logging and moving bales etc has always felt terrible like they have no weight to stuff you are moving and dropping and bad clipping through grabs etc...... I would trade better graphics for reworked physics and bigger vanilla maps tbh might pass on this installment
Nope! Everything is more heavy and realistic
the game runs so much better which ill take over major graphics buffs and the physics are a lot better imo the pallets work a lot better but bales are kinda the same as 19 unfortunately, i was burned out on 19 tho and i didnt rlly play it much over the last year or so but ive been playing this one non stop since launch
@@joeschipper6465 nice , ill try it after its out a bit and mods gets rolling out ..... hopefully ppl are right about physics improvements mostly with logging i hated how everything felt weightless and buggy in grabs ... and the tire/traction physics i see have changed thats good
It appears the more your character picks up the stuff, the stronger he gets as I could not pick up items that my buddy could on his map.
They also have more crops to farm that I don't remember them having in 2019 so there is a decent expansion to the game still.
@@joeschipper6465 I don't know if we are playing the same game :D Performance is not better for sure. Pallets are working better? How? Played 1000 of hours in 19 and now 150 in 22, I can't see that improvement. Actually pallets are completely bugged and Giants can't fix it at the moment. Pallets stuck in the ground and you need to edit save file or simply use autoload trailer (fix not available on consoles). Terrible performance drop if you carrying or storing bigger amount of pallets (some people reporting single digit FPS). 5 workers out in the fields and you'll getting 40 fps or less on 1080p... Console performance series X has improvement... Yes... at last game unlocked and we can enjoy 60 fps but... only if we drive a tractor on the map. Buy some equipment, send some workers and it will be as choppy as locked 30 fps 19 was. Oh, not to mention the terraforming/building system, a complete downgrade. The only thing is better over 19 is the fence placing system... Definietely you haven't played both those games truough. Go to the forums (giants, steam reddit), I'm not the only one complaining here...
Graphics are a big let down. It seems game developers keep using the same old game engines and you can only do so much with it. Sham
At least could put effort using same machinery. In seeder comparison - next time try to turn them on. Half baked video.
Graphics are good, but what about game mechanics? Mods, etc. More videos please. I
I’ve played 19 and down but im assuming because as time goes on new things will be made and people will learn from the last game and what the next one needs for mods
It still has the same landscaping issues it had before. Placing a building or garage is still a major pain in the butt. Creating flat ground (on some maps) tends to be frustrating and expensive. I have an i7 but not a high end graphics card, and it looks worse than the last game. BTW please refrain from buying too many buildings and/or implements. It will slow the game down so much that you can't play it. But, wow! Look at that beautiful footage. I can't wait to see that on my computer.
@@jaytalley3715 you are wrong at pretty much every point of your comment... I'd guess you don't even have the game yourself. I play on a MP server with a bunch of other people and we all have our own machines, equipment, attachments and the game runs the same as it did at launch. Most of the larger fields have their own smaller production silos and buildings on or near by, also, no change in performance. If you don't want terrain issues placing buildings then go get the place anywhere mod and that problem is solved. Use the leveling tool and make all the flat ground you want based on the surrounding terrain level. don't wanna pay for the modification?? Get a mod to remove the terraforming costs... I mean most of these issues were resolved in 19 so if you spent even a few hours in that version then none of these picky, whiney comments would be needed....
@@jaytalley3715 So you are playing with specs below the suggested ones but are really gonna sit there and cry about how the game performs?? Get a grip guy.
There are likely hundreds if not thousands of videos out there right now of people using chainsaws, chippers, and other logging equipment without any issues, or at least nothing that can't be corrected. I have ripped on Giants for years about their poor efforts towards making the game a true sim so im likely the furthest thing from a fanboy.
And I will add that if you are so computer illiterate as to try and run a bunch of mods on a machine that doesn't even meet the minimum requirements then you should likely close your mouth and stop trying to tell the company how to do their job because you likely couldn't if you wanted to.

FS19 looks better...
There's some sort of compression going on; FS22 looks blurry in this video and doesn't in others
On my pc, FS22 is far superior...the shading, effects, animations, colors, details, all of it. No comparison with good hardware and max settings.
@@GulfCoastTim I don't have Fs22 yet unfurtionately, but Fs19 always looked blurry and just overall bad on my pc, even with max settings. It also felt unresponsive, which I was able to partially fix by uncapping it and letting it run at 144 fps, but it overall just looked and felt bad to me. I have hope for fs22, it looks good in the gameplays I've watched, I don't see how it could possibly be worse like what op said
I've only played FS22 for a little bit but I think it looks better. Try tweaking the advanced settings.
Wait for update bro
19 looks so much better I've got farming simulator 22 and I wish I never brought it I might go back to farming sim 19 I love the maps better on fs22 it takes ages because the fields are big
I just want to know where is the dirt and mud on tractors on FS22 ? In 19 it looked realistic and also no wear and tear on anything. Come on Giants . ..I can't be the only one that noticed this? The crops look better in 22 though.
Density of crops is welcoming thing but it comes with it cons. Have you tried to spray fertilizer on crops that are in 2nd stage of growths. Good luck figuring out where it need fertilizer and where it already been applied without peeking in map all the time. Without GPS it's massive pain is ass.
I just want to correct my stupid comment about the tractors not getting dirty. They do get pretty dirty, it just takes longer I found out and I think that is better...more like real life so I'm happy. I do feel stupid and feel bad for complaining. Sorry Giants, my bad.
@@MrHakenmann if u zoom way out u can kinda see it
@@germanwarrior6463 A lot of people doing these vids also have dirt turned off.. I personally turn the setting on high and it feels a bit more realistic in terms of the speed that a machine gets dirty.
I'm not a big fan of the graphic style decision of this game. It's got a very cartoony look to me. Everything feels like it's been driven right out of the assembly line in pristine condition. Even when you're driving over a field there is no sign of dirt/grim, the shine of the body of vehicles doesn't dull, and colors seem over saturated. When i see a screenshot of this game I instantly recognize it as a farming simulator game because it's just so fake looking. I think the lighting isn't good either. I was just looking this up as i seen NVidia has DLSS support so i was curious how this version of game graphics has improved over past versions. Sadly, i don't see any difference. Don't get me wrong, i obviously don't play farming simulator for the graphics but i do hope they one day make a game that looks really good, but they seem to just use the same engine every year and only tweak a few things.
I threw my fs22 in the back of the cupboard after a few weeks. I was looking forward to the new features but adding way more pallets handling that doesn't work in productions made it not worth doing. Stones turned into picking up every pebble, so turned that off. Wish they had added field grazing, gps etc.
You know I thought I'd try to give it a go today but the chainsaw often didn't work. When I put branches in the chipper they sank into the feeder belt, or fell through it altogether. Because of this, the chipper took little bites at a time and I had to hold the logs in place to grind them. It rained and for some reason that made the graphics slow to a crawl. Nah. It's hot garbage. How anyone can release an unfinished product like this is beyond me. And they scold modders for being sloppy.
Glad the sounds have been changed to be less whiny. I had to turn the volume down a lot because of that. The new sounds sound deeper and easier to listen to.
Sounds good but I bet I will just get 19 again so I have decent graphics.
@@Supacoopaofawesomeness The graphics in 22 are better than they were at any point in 19. Just because the youtube video makes you think otherwise is on you. The game engine got a big update but was forced to be kept old because the game had to accommodate previous gen consoles, the entire sound engine was rebuilt and is incredible.
nice comparing, but: why do you show different phases of growth in comparison? the sunflowers are ripe at SS19 and at SS22 they are still growing! The same for cotton (once ready for harvest FS19 and once in growth FS22)! It's like comparing apples to oranges.
best regards from germany..

@@Strengenn Bruh, with your potato computer looks everything like plastic crap
Besides 22s higher density in grass and crops (a good thing) and minor better details in some areas I have to say 19 looks way better, and graphics isn't even close to a selling argument for 22.
Will have to check gameplay and mechanics videos to sway me over for a buy, as it stands after this vid I'll stick to 2019.
Thanks for showing the comparison o/
Not sure why farming simulator franchise sells there titles at the price of triple a games. They were never optimize good enough to compare to triple a titles. Also the online experience is a bit upsetting.
Not to mention a community of ppl that make mods that the devs put on game for consoles. I think they gonna struggle with modders to commit there time to new farm sim titles as they do it out of free will.
The physics in fs22 are more realistic, while in fs19 the graphics are a bit better.
Evolução grafica e imperceptivel em relação ao FS 19, joguei o FS 22 e quem for pelos graficos vai se desepcionar. Joguei ambos no Xbox series x
I think he has 19 set to a higher resolution than 22.
Still 22 could have been way better than 19 that water is so bad.
Don't let the graphics fool you, the physics are still the same from FS13.
They've been reskinning the same old potato for years and fools keep buying it
Honestly I don't see much in the upgrade from fs19 to 22. Basically I lost all the DLC I payed for (why not convert it over?). Whilst they improved some things in Giants Editor side of things, it's not really enough. There isn't any significant graphics upgrade and it's still wayyy too power hungry for what is happening. On maxed out max settings, I get similar FPS to games with ridiculous graphics. I'd actually rather them not focus on graphics though. Instead there should be more realistic farming additions. For example, why can't you swath canola out of the box? It's such a common method of harvesting around the world. Looking out my window I can see a crop so high the option would be to windrow it first. I'd rather wait more than two years for a game so they could collaborate with TheAlienPaul and integrate MaizePlus nicely.
Games crap lol. I deleted FS 22 and went straight back to FS 19. Only good thing about 22 is the Productions and character customisation.
The animations look nicer but overall you could just play FS19 for free with mods and get a better experience.
fs19 looks realistic where fs22 looks like they just threw some more contrast and some fake ass physics
The video doesn't show the game as it actually is!
I mean, not even the seed drill was activated
while driving across the field to demonstrate the new soundscape.
Heh, "soundscape".
19 looks much better than 22.
sorry but farming simulator 19 looks so much better.
Just very few things 19 did better. Too few to make it "better" as so many claim.
Yes. Mods. That is your biggest argument all the time.
Give it 2-3 years. 25 shows up. Then suddenly 22 is better than 25 again. So that is hardly a good argument to make.
It's like the argument some have for: "Hey i can play the game with my friends! It has Coop!"
Boy. Every game is more fun with friends. So don't use it as a argument.
And i heard enough horror stories about 19 that will not make me even consider trying it. I had a perfect start with 22 and i stick with it till 25 comes around. (Those physics.. being even more jank in 19 and i already get extremely annoyed with them in 22? No thanks.)
Graphics? I don't see 19 being better. At least not across the board. Water i can agree on. But crops? Nah.
fs22 graphics are garbage. fs19 was way better.
Damn even indie devs gettin lazy and releasing downgraded versions of old games lol, although i think this is from the same person who made "grass simulator" so it makes sense that its a complete pile of shit designed to generate money from kids who buy it after watching pewdiepie play for 10 minutes and then never open it again
no its not made by grass simulator developers farming simulator is made by giant software, also you can't say that this is downgraded version of previous game when they added seasons to game where you have to plant crops depending on what month is, side by side you can see that new farming simulator have changed a lot in graphics of game, added new plants etc. and I have never seen anyone like pewdiepie playing this game and I don't see that much kids playing farming simulator, especially when most of them consider this game as "boring", the game just has it's own community, I see you have 0 idea about this game especially when you think that this is "indie" game
@@Wanie33 Graphic changes and new plants is no reason to pay more than 60 bucks for this shitty thing they could do with a simple update
@@SimSimi.ツ well first of all I said already that there was more added things into the game other than graphics or plants (not to mention that 2 of 3 new plants literally can change gameplay), there was a lot of more things added into a game and second, yeah the most shocking to you because I see that you can't go on steam and find out that this game is not worth 60 bucks because if you aren't dumb you can get game under 30 bucks on websites with steam keys
@@Wanie33 Anyway, these are things that could be added in a simple update, as for the price, not everyone plays on PC and cannot buy games on third-party sites that are not in the official console store
@@SimSimi.ツ well it is hard to make free update for game who contains 3 new and 2 times bigger maps than base maps in fs19, who contains new mechanics in game (seasons, gearbox, more realistic steering, production chain etc.), new plants (especially when it adds new combines for different plant) and graphics, like seriously give me a reason why game where size of it (35gb) is almost 5 times bigger than previous game should be a free update for older game who already has 3 years
only thing i notice is that 22 has better lighting, higher contrast, shadows, and better trees lol. Still going to stick to 19 for a bit.

One works on standard computers and the other won't work well with out a high end graphics card.
When they say "Attention to Detail & Graphics" but we tried so hard to find any difference is just a failure for the developer, we should easily be able to see the difference between the two games, however we cannot, which means the developer done a horrible job on making this newer version of Farming Simulator that I would say made most of the players disappointed, the multipayer on FS19 has been dead for quit a while, I do not expect any come back on FS22 after seeing this terrible work.
I don't understand why you have such a negative view on the game. My opinion from playing Farming simulator 19 for three years, they definitely changed and updated the graphics. When you say it was "just a failure for the developer" is a very poor statement as fs22 has brought lots of new players into the game, ultimately leaving them with a positive experience.
FS19 have better graphics..... FS22 lookslike **** to me.....
Just grafic and some mod 17> 19> 22 nothing more no new Version Just update
Overall the GFX are better in FS22, but the loading and unloading of material's is still so bad it's a joke, look at any crop unloading from anything and it looks a mess like your looking at a flat picture not moving grain or anything you are unloading or loading.
I think that will change with a new game engine.. I think 22 while much better then its previous versions still runs on an older engine because Giants have to still accommodate the previous gen consoles. I am hoping that the next game gets the new engine we all had hoped for with 22.
Another bug to fix.
I like it that way otherwise it'd cause a lot of lag just to unload something since every piece will have it's own physics imo.

19 was terrible. Their sales must have nosedived, too. Because instead of rushing another cookie cutter game with a slightly better engine to market they absorbed the modding communities code (in true Squad / Kerbal Space Program I doubt they paid the modders whose work they took of course - which is probably why you got strawberries and fscking cakes) so here's praying that fertiliser differences matter now, and that ... well, ANYTHING matters in the game beside the same grind.
