Cool that so many KWs in Australia from 70's and 80's had Detroit power. Some KWs in Canada from that time era had Detroit power but not nearly as many.
Hi from France, trucks have come along way since 1976.871's,692's,892's i'd forgotten the noise,be hard to put up with nowadays,all those gear changes,but that's how it was back then.

Lol I was setting in lake Station in. Eating at the counter with a bunch of TRUCK DRIVERS, when a 318 was pulling out, every head turned around, stopped talking, watched, and listened with a smile. To watch an old grn cracker box with triaxle flatbed leave. Damn I miss those days! Late 90s when there were still a few that new and could. Gotta Go
That 8V71 sounds great. My father had Detroit motors in trucks. A Kenworth K125 with 8V92TTA and 13 speed Road Ranger and a W900 with an 8V92TTA and 15 speed Road Ranger. He also have a cab over International Transtar with 8V71N and 15 speed Road Ranger. What box in your Kenworth?
@@pvh_facp4001yt it’s impossible to use with some ISX Cummins without revving the engine in the middle even on up changes.. I really just use the clutch in top box when real heavy and when putting it back into gear.. but the driver is legit.. excellent operation.

I thought you didn't need to use the clutch when you get the truck rolling ?
I thought you only needed to use the clutch on take Off ?
It’s better for the transmission especially on these older trucks
