Apparently what happened is the O&A show got let go but no one bothered to tell them. But through some glitch in payroll they're still getting paid.

Not sure how the boys (or least that ghoul Eatman) didn’t see the painfully obvious picture: Sirius acquired XM, Sirius run by Mel who in bed with Howard the bigger star, who happens to despise the guys and want their failures; Mel convinces Howard to keep them on board initially for a little just to get their XM subscribers plus any new ones coming onboard from the CBS reg radio departure/fallout, Howard acquiesces cuz he’s probably told that their subs would count towards his bonus tier projections (which he subsequently counted on in order to reach that next bonus lvl payout which ultimately denied to him n impetus for his company lawsuit), so OA are still around n survive the merger n initial smoke blown up their ass to shut em up and keep em content n not stir the shit. They should have realized instantaneously what SXM intentions for them were once stuck in that proverbial storage closet of a studio (especially compared to Howard’s compound) and should’ve known Howard would have never signed off on their show being promoted on any lvl or allowed to flourish. Few years down road and Howard sues company, Mel almost gone and OA are fed bs on top of bs to appease in the moment; then Scott Greenstein evidently wants this lavish OA event and shows renewed interest in the boys: how in the mother f did they not see that it was simply only to again fuck with Howard since he had become enemy number one in the SXM boardroom? And quite frankly this is probably only thing that kept them signed under contract and renewed, and that once his beef with company became squashed and they wanted to make up that their asses would probably be targeted or at very least simply placed right back on the pay no fucking mind list. Hence why they brought their so called event to company and SXM actually wanted OA to Pay Them now when before Geeenstein was talking Op up lolol. This is where I agree with Ant that Opie became retarded with his insistence on short term deals and how risky it was. Now new owners were coming in and wanted to keep their bigger interest HS happy and could’ve easily spelled their demise. And I’m just some jerkoff fan with zero business interests or experience who has far too much time to write all this inane shit

I always thought Howard was behind them being treated horrible there. Sirius was definitely trying to make things as hard as possible on them to get them to quit
And once SXM was ready, they use Ant’s “incident” to divide and conquer..
And Opie fell for it

8 Years and SiriusXM hasn't gotten any better.
I had to call them during the Pandemic Lockdown when they had no one in the offices, and they had no one answering Phones, Emails, DMs or anything.
Know someone who works in Programming at SiriusXM. They just got back into the New York offices yesterday.

Opie just whines and whines. I have listened to countless hours of O&A and it amazes me people put up with him for so long. Negative complain negative complain about EVERYTHING. He is a crybaby.
They absolutely should’ve left around this point. This was right around the time that Joe Rogan’s podcast started to gain some mainstream success. They could’ve gotten in right before podcasts blew up and been one of the biggest. No restrictions, no limitations and they could’ve gotten that precious “video element” they were always crowing about. But by then, O and A hated each other and were too stubborn to talk it out, Anthony was too lazy to do anything besides stay the course 4 hours a day so he could spend the other waking 16 hours drinking, Opie’s narcissism refused to let him humble himself even slightly to start something new, and Jim was too cowardly to take a risk. Which is why he’s still at that obsolete, lame horse company to this day.
SiriusXM better do something soon! Howard is going to be leaving in 2015 since he lost his appeal in his million dollar lawsuit, and if O & A leave in 2014, they will have NOTHING! The only reason I have SiriusXM is for O & A, I use Slacker for music and my Slingbox for news and other entertainment. SiriusXM is sooooooo DEAD come 2015!

They're changing the channels on O&A because they're established. it's the same reason you put a tv show in place of another more established show, so they can try to pick up the audience of the more established show.

Makes you wonder why they dont just leave. I'm not trying to bash them or be a dick, but clearly XM/Sirius has no idea what they are doing as a business, they haven't known how to use these guys, they've never promoted these guys like they do certain other personalities. Fuck it, they have enough of a hardcore fan following alone, why not just leave and go independent? Sort run would suck, but long run they could probably be more successful managing their own work than with XM doing it.
