Genius idea!! My family and I just made this with a gallon milk jug and a paint roller extension pole. It worked perfectly! You saved us $50. Thank you!!
Thanks so much, worked beautifully for our mandarins during lockdown - considered getting a Bunnings fruit picker for $99 when I found this. Thanks a lot!! The mandarins do get their stem ripped out (so the inside gets exposed), so I'm only picking them as we eat them. Yummo!! The family loves the idea too. We used a 2L milk bottle, a free long 2M stick in the yard, and only 2 (bit rickety) screws, doing the job marvelously. The ones at the top taste the sweetest!!!
The DIY Mango and Fruit picker, that is so COOL, and its really versatile as well! Thanks Rob Bob, personally I have an infant Chocolate Pudding Fruit in the rears but my neighbor has a beautiful Palestine Sweet Lime tree and he also has a Creole Avocado(difference between the comercial Hass and this species, is the skin is really thin, black in some, green in others and its edible), usually he and I pick the fruit the ol' fashioned way, with a step ladder, but this DIY Fruit Picker is a must try with the sweet limes and the avocados, my neighbor and I thank you very much Rob Bob, for sharing that Aussie Ingenuity! :)
It's amazing wow sulve my problem about my tree is so high have more fruit to get the tree thanks this guide it's really good for me thanks and God bless you 🤩❤️❤️❤️
I got best idea from you. I have two mango trees. The other one is approximately 45 feet and the other is less shorter. I will use the same method but I don't have electrical driller.
Fantastic, i stumbled on this video trying to figure out how would i pick avocados growing beyond our fence reaching to our neighbour. This tool will definitely serve the purpose, i'm going to make one now. Thanks for sharing this...
My son used to date a lady from Guam. Flying foxes were one of her father's favorite tidbits for dinner. (I'll stick to hamburgers, thank you very much!)
I wait for the blush to start as that's when they are just turning & are susceptible to fly strike Shane. We also eat the green in salads as well. Cheers mate.

I've seen this bottle idea used in Turkey many years ago. They also had 600ml water bottle ones for walnuts. I thought it was very clever indeed

great growth year to year, im glad you stuck w/ the mangos they get better every year
Thats a great tool. Nice to share one or two with the bats.
I have a widget like that for apples. We use 4" PVC pipe and the apples roll down the tube so you don't have to empty it out after each time!
Just what i needed ! thanks!! Going to make one rn.
Hope it worked well for you NME.
@@RobsAquaponics Hey rob it worked , I used to to pick star apples from my yard!

Lol the friut bat... nom nom nom nom 😂
Good morning 🤩❤️
awesome. thanks for sharing
If you hot glue a razor blade at an angle to the back of the stem slot it'll make it easier to release the fruit from the tree.
I got best idea from you. I have two mango trees. The other one is approximately 45 feet and the other is less shorter. I will use the same method but I don't have electrical driller.
Tying it on with a bit of string or wire might do the job for you. 👍
Am glad the video helped some.

I'd love to be able to grow mangoes down here in S Gippsland, the amount my wife and kids eat it would save us a fortune!!!
the south most i have seen them is woolongong in nsw, and thair sick,, there is a very big healthy one in mossman, sydney.
My son used to date a lady from Guam. Flying foxes were one of her father's favorite tidbits for dinner. (I'll stick to hamburgers, thank you very much!)
😄 I've been told that they taste like chicken Jeanette.

Good..
I am watching from Trinidad and Tobago. What size pvc pipe did you use for the rod?
I think it was a 1¼ or 1½" (32 / 40mm) pipe Glen.
😊😊
Great idea pal...I'll be making one for my avo's...
Awesome mangoes Rob.. how have you been doing? Still love your videos my friend!!
Rick
Still playing catch up like always Rick. 😄😉
Hope you & yours are doing well mate.
Cheers.
Ro1b.i use a hose clamp on a picker like the one you made
Can you pick avocado pears with this also
I would think so. 👍
i could see this instrument working on the carambolas, just add some padding to minimise bruising.
I love your videos, Rob. I was wondering if you know anything about Jeff and Wilma's long absence. I am very worried for them.
Hi peelmeone. I'm not sure sorry. Have you tried reaching them through their clips?
I don't think this will work for my avocados but cool idea.
Hoping this works for apples and pears.... U think?
It should work fine for most fruits BF. 👍🙂
@@RobsAquaponics thank u so much!
Mangoes
YUM 👍
I usted mined for mangoes
Ever tried Mango tree in AP?
Could be done with a dwarf but my system isn't large enough for a tree that size.
Cheers.
The handle appears to be about 3 m long. But you don’t say how long it is.
You could make it as long as it needs to be for your trees. 👍
Cheers.
i had no idea you pick mangos green.
I wait for the blush to start as that's when they are just turning & are susceptible to fly strike Shane. We also eat the green in salads as well.
Cheers mate.
@@RobsAquaponics being a southerner, we have have no idea.
@@Shane_O.5158 We'll forgive you. 😉

Wish I had of seen that last week before a mango hit me in the face from 9 foot in the air... lucky no fractures just black eyes and swelling.
OUCH Marissa. Hope it heeled up fast.
