That download of the iFix It site, etc., is smart, on top of having a protected computer and power supply. A relatively small version of a big solar storm took out the grid in Quebec for 9 hours back in 1989. A really big one would take us all off the grid for perhaps even years. Having some sort of backup just in case sure makes sense. In my lab, we had sensitive equipment surrounded by faraday cages - not for safety against a solar storm or some other EMP, but because even 60 hz pulses from the building's wiring would interfere with measurements. I've subscribed to your new channel now.
That must’ve been some very sensitive equipment to be affected by that. It wouldn’t take much to knock us backwards technologically. I think we have been lucky so far.
I like this project. I’m looking forward the next steps. A thought on the Faraday cage: you may want to check on RF gaskets. Although a ground connection between plates is needed, it shouldn’t have any gaps.
I subbed your other channel Luke, but to be honest, I'd rather hear your own voice. Those AI generated voices are the ones that put me to sleep. While sounding perfect, they take all the personality out of the picture. I would rather hear someone with a Kentucky drawl anytime over the AI one. But, however you do it, count on my support (for what it's worth, lol.).
Regarding the new Channel: i think it is a great idea to have the AI voice and the compelling imagery. Most people like this format. Also helps keep it clean and compact. Personally, I love the little imperfections and quirks that make each of us unique, and the spontaneous rants or sideways conversations that arise naturally when dealing with any topic. And your voice sounds just fine. Mine sounds ugly 😂 I believe we all dislike our own voices when we listen to them in a recording. I don’t even recognize my accent!
Good info Luke
Thanks 👍

We were able to measure sub-picoamp currents through single ion channels with it, so, yeah, very very sensitive.

Yes it should close all the way together. I have found some conductive gasket material I am going to use.
Luke , I actually like your own voice much better than AI voice.... Don't like the AI voice at all...
I’ll try a few with my voice. Maybe it’s just me that don’t like the sound of it lol,

Thank you. I’ll try a few with my own voice. I might leave the AI as the intro, and just read the articles myself.
Great project…. Hmmm, who likes their own voice, maybe we all wish we sounded better? 👍🏻❤️
Yeah, I guess we are more critical of ourselves than others are. I'll probably try recording a couple with my own voice and see how it goes.

Interesting good luck on this project 😊
Thanks! 😊
I think i know where were going with this . ..But i am looking forward to the next installment .😂
Thank you.
Subbed ro the other channel. Cant wait.
Awesome thank you!
EMP can take down that computer too.
Yes it can. Even with a Faraday cage a strong enough emp can take out electronics. It will stand a better chance though.
Good to see your videos !
Glad you like them!
Seems like you’re a day early Luke! 🎉
Nah, just something I wanted to build. Might use it in my next film as a prop.
@@lukeFugate well, I can’t wait to see the film!
