I'm really excited for you and your family! The shop doesn't make you relatable...that little voice that yells "DAD" in the middle of the video, you saying " I'm calling it for the day cuz we have a game or awards for the girls to go to" ... Those are the things that make you relatable to me. My dad raised me and I was his go-fer assistant when I was hotrods age. Now I have grandsons who go school and they brag about their grandma who taught them at 5 and 6 years old how to change the oil or rebuild a carb. My family and I are so proud of you!! You've worked hard for this for you and for that beautiful family!!!

Hot Damn It's Time For Another One 🤘🤘
Any engine is gonna be broken in within 20-30 minutes of running for the first time. Rings are seated, all that good stuff, but you're absolutely right about varying the rpms. The reason for this is on deceleration from higher rpms, the high vacuum sucks the rings to the bore and creates the best seal possible, as well as helping to suspend any material coming off so it can exit through the exhaust.
That was such an awesome moment to hear that thing run, I was so happy for you that it fired up so good. Nice motivation to keep going. Proud moment for you and all of us watching!!!

That break-in procedure is for seating new piston rings. A series of up and down shifts, letting the engine slow the car, will force the rings into the cylinder walls so they can seat properly. It works, and is how I have been doing it for many years. Drive it like that for 50 miles or so, change the oil, then give it another 500, never staying at the same RPM for more than a few minutes.

Been there! Swapped out a Toyota motor with a buddy in a 1980 Corolla Wagon. Fun times in that tiny engine bay. I even added the old Okie back window sticker, " Ain't Skeerd!" Loving the build!

Dude I'm 46 and finally got my own shop at 44 after working in a tiny garage and having all my stuff scattered to the 4 winds for years. I'm proud of ya getting a bigger/better shop. As your channel grows, you'd need one anyway. I'm happy when one of my fav content creators on youtube suceeds.
Another awesome video! Those 32/36 weber carbs are awesome for those old 4 cylinder motors. Look into installing the Sync Link kit on it, you will not be disappointed in the increased performance with both the barrels opening at the same time rather than the delay on the 36. You'll thank me ;)

Besides for the fab on the rear links and bags, this is my favorite part. This is when you have to figure it all out. I have built several trucks in the last 5 years, and love watching others do it when I aint. Dang sure can't watch decent TV anymore.And being from and living in NC, we call that color....CAROLINA BLUE, come on.

It was sitting for 10 years before I bought my 1972 dodge d10/w200 mud truck (400ci) and after a couple weeks and too much money I was so dang happy to hear the headers ring. Proud of you bro
Congrats on the upcoming new shop...can't wait to see it! You and 'Ol Mortske should do a "shop trade" collaboration video when both new shops are up and running! You do a video in his...he does a video in yours! The trick to keeping the "cozy little shop" feel is to build out the new shop with its own "cozy shop corner" right in it! Storage cabinets, peg board backed work benches, and tall toolboxes double as "walls" to make a big shop look "relatable" to everybody with a smaller shop like the one you're in now. Don't spread your equipment out so far in the new work area! A big shop with multiple "stalls" for vehicles or specific work is where it's at! Also...can we get maybe a quick teaser video of the shop? A couple still shots at least? Something? Anything! This waiting just ain't right...LoL

That's such a great accomplishment! I know all of the hard troubles you are going through, because I'm going through the same thing, trying to rebuild my truck engine right now. Broken bolts, incorrect parts, cleaning and painting and scrounging for the right stuff all the time. I always remember what you say: sitting on my ass won't get my project done. Keep up the great work!
A tip for the “Chinese finger trap” stuff is after you cut it use a cigarette lighter to lightly melt the cut end. It will help prevent fraying.
