When I worked as a state humane police officer, I tried not to write citations unless it was really, really warranted. However, someone abandoning their dog was a guaranteed citation.

Once again we have a situation where the horrible people who dumped their pet can be identified and found. But no one does anything. Of course this sweet dog should not be returned to them however they should be cited and fined for being crappy humans and pet owners! They should never be allowed to own pets again.
They should take their dog to an animal shelter and give the dog a chance to be adopted by someone who wants them and not dump them on the street. How cruel those people are. I hope they don’t have any children and do the same thing.

I lost my dog when I was out of town. My brother back then forget to close our fence and then he gone forever and i only found him missing 1 week before i came back. After back to town still searching him for months almost everyday. Been 10 years already, but still missing him so bad. I really don't understand how people able to throwing out their pets family. Also, thank you so much for saving him. You guys are treasure for this world.
How sad that Chivas has no front teeth. As you say, one can only guess how it happened. When watching him eat it becomes obvious he has no front teeth. He has to "gum" food until it reach remaining teeth. In spite of the teeth issue he remains a true lover. His coat has gorgeous colors. He's keeper. 👍👍👍

I will never understand people. Go to the beach and dump your dog? I DO have a lot of sympathy for those people fleeing bombing and Russian soldiers, they often have just minutes to get out and when they try to take pets with them, it is not allowed. I too rescued a Chivas who looks like Chivas six years ago. Named him Fido. He pees around my house marking his territory because I guess he knows it is his home now forever. My Fido lives with 7 of my rescued furkids. He's sweet ,kind and so loyal. Praying Chivas finds an extraordinary loving family asap❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I try not to cry watching these rescues but this one broke my heart 💔😢. I don’t know why his family would abandon him in such a cruel way rather than at a shelter but he is part of the family. It is so heartbreaking to see him still wanting to be with them. All dogs ever want is unconditional 💕. Thank you rescuing him and I hope he finds a forever home where he will be always be loved.
Somewhere on this channel they mentioned, even before the war in Ukrania, that all of the shelters were already overcrowded and that there are a lot of stray animals without home. Now with the war those numbers increased. So, probably no shelter is capable of taking more animals.

In my state, NC, animal abandonment is a lot more than a citation, it's 1-5 years in prison, which it should be.
