Stihl having problems! Not anymore! We converted the m-tronic custom chainsaw

We had enough!! This Stihl MS261 gave us problems for years. It was at 2 different dealers multiple times. The first dealer ruined the wiring harness. The second dealer warrantied the carb and harness. It then ran ok for a little while but recently was junk again. My dad wanted this saw for the lighter weight and more power. When it ran it was an animal, but was not dependable. I did some research and found what I needed to convert it and found the parts and ordered them. I replaced the carb, flywheel, coil and air cleaner backing plate with choke and kill switch. This was the first time we tried to start it and it ran great.

Hello. I am looking at doing the exact same thing. Yours is the ONLY video I have found that confirms changing all 3 components. Any chance you have part numbers? Even if aftermarket. Also what... what are the bolt sizes for flywheel puller? Thanks 7/31/2024 6pm in Tn.

Went back through the parts I bought for you ,
I bought a Ms271 or 291 air filter base with kill switch
Flywheel from ms271 or 291 part #1141 400 1200 it came with a module and I don’t have that number
Carb 1141 120 0606 or 0616 not sure why
Top cover 1141 080 1641
