Fanatic Wrestling, like it’s sister site BJJ Fanatics was founded by a pair of grappling fanatics dedicated to bringing you the best wrestling competitors and coaches in the world to learn from. They both realized they were missing an entire section of the grappling community so the idea for Fanatic Wresting was born.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years, is that very often coaches fail to explain the footwork in a sweep single. Here, notice that he is taking a slight back step with his trail leg and a small jab step with his lead leg. The back step is used to lower his level.

Excellent point. Dave didn't take a big penetration step with his right foot and have it land near Dan's left foot. Even though the focus is on the setup here and the setup will work even with a traditional penetration step, it's still something to think about.

Dan, that shot makes you look bigger. Bet that dude kicked butt on the mat. Shorter doesn't translate into less dangerous.
