Freddie was an absolute genius. He played the piano excellently and played well on several instruments. He had absolute hearing and a sense of rhythm. it was fantastic. Modest in all this. He was a musical genius. It was much more than a rock star !!
I agree with you. Freddie's rock star status just scratched the surface of his capabilities. If he had not died so early, we would have seen a lot more of his talent. I had an education course in college where I learned about Multiple Intelligence, Multiple Intelligence is a theory of Howard Gardner, a cognitive psychologist. He theorized that intelligence is not just a score that people get on an intelligence test, it is so much more. It is when people exhibit various other types of abilities. IMO Freddie is a a poster boy of multiple intelligence. He had good judgement by the way he could move all over the stage and not trip on wires. He had above average coordination. Most singers just stand in one place and sing. He could paint very well,. He had uncanny musical abilities even though he never took voice or music lessons. He was a good designer .He could write excellent song lyrics. He was well-spoken in interviews. Journalists could not trip him up. I also think Michael Jackson had multiple intelligence . Many people do not know that, in addition to musical ability, MJ actually designed those shoes that he used in his Smooth Criminal video that enabled him and his dancers to lean in an 45 degree angle. I think he got a patent for the shoes. If there are any educators out there, please comment on this. Do you think FM and MJ had multiple intelligence ? A Freddie fan forever. I still love him.

He was deeply emotional and aloof. He was a child of beauty. It was beautiful inside and out - in the noblest sense of the word. MJ, too, was extremely talented. But remember: MJ was American, born into a family of musicians, and that defines a lot. They cannot be compared I do not need it. Freddie Mercury carried a very special plus; in his voice appearance in behavior; - which enriched and enchanted millions of people. Unforgettable.

He is a brilliant musician, His skill on the piano were outstanding. He also wrote killer riffs for Brian to play on the guitar, one of which was Ogre Battle. That riff is so inventive for its time, not really difficult to play but extremely difficult to come up with. Roger Taylor said it best when he said that a lot of people think of Freddie as a showman, someone who amped the crowd up, meanwhile his musical skills tend to get eclipsed which is really unfair cos he was an amazing musician and he could keep time better than a metronome.
In the realms of rock musicians who play rock / pop, Freddie piano playing ability was nothing special. Inventive yes compared to his contemporaries, but not particularly technically difficult. He's genius was in his song writing, his ability to perform and his voice. If you're suggesting Freddie had perfect timing....... nobody has or had perfect timing.

They honed their piano skills like Freddie Mercury concentrated on his vocals which let’s face it, he’s a far better vocalist than both Elton and Billy. As far as perfect timing again that would be true as nobody’s perfect but he could keep time better than most that’s for sure.

In pop / rock he doesn't compare as a piano player to Elton John, Rick wakeman, Billy Joel etc etc. If you look at the great jazz players, they were all better players than Freddie. Watch Oscar Peterson, as a piano player, Freddie doesn't compare.

I saw a video where the actor that played Brian May was watching the actual Brian May play the guitar, and he looked like he was hypnotized by Brian's guitar playing. (See if u can follow that.😉😁) Both Brian & Rodger Taylor were on set of the movie when they 1st started filming. (They did the live aid scene 1st.) 1st I saw the actors w/o mu or wigs, and they really looked like they were moving like the Members of Queen. U know what I mean? U watch a video 5 times, and each time u focus on one person or another. Then, the mu people do their thing, and added the wigs, and I got tears in my eyes. It was like a magic time machine going back to the actual live aid concert. When one of the promo cameras moved onto the real Brian May & Rodger Taylor, they were not arrogant, or acting high and mighty. They both looked like they too were looking through magic goggles and they were remembering live aid like it was yesterday. Another scene of the back stage video, Brian May agreed to play the guitar and have video taken so Brian May could reference it if he needed to act more like Brian May. What's funny is the 1st time I saw that scene, I swear, the actor looked so much like Brian May circa1980, that I thought it was old footage of Brian May w/his dad. (Until I remembered that Brian May's dad had a short strait hair cut.) Anyways, if I can find the video, I will let u know how to find it. Ur right about Malik and all of the actors. Now that they've been in a big, high profile movie, I now notice them in movies they did b4 Bohemian Rhapsody.

I saw a video where the actor that played Brian May was watching the actual Brian May play the guitar, and he looked like he was hypnotized by Brian's guitar playing.

Hea@Eva GS, I saw a video of Brian May showing 'Brian May' how to move more like Brian May. (See if u can follow that.😉😁) Both Brian & Rodger Taylor were on set of the movie when they 1st started filming. (They did the live aid scene 1st.) 1st I saw the actors w/o mu or wigs, and they really looked like they were moving like the Members of Queen. U know what I mean? U watch a video 5 times, and each time u focus on one person or another. Then, the mu people do their thing, and added the wigs, and I got tears in my eyes. It was like a magic time machine going back to the actual live aid concert. When one of the promo cameras moved onto the real Brian May & Rodger Taylor, they were not arrogant, or acting high and mighty. They both looked like they too were looking through magic goggles and they were remembering live aid like it was yesterday. Another scene of the back stage video, Brian May agreed to play the guitar and have video taken so Brian May could reference it if he needed to act more like Brian May. What's funny is the 1st time I saw that scene, I swear, the actor looked so much like Brian May circa1980, that I thought it was old footage of Brian May w/his dad. (Until I remembered that Brian May's dad had a short strait hair cut.) Anyways, if I can find the video, I will let u know how to find it. Ur right about Malik and all of the actors. Now that they've been in a big, high profile movie, I now notice them in movies they did b4 Bohemian Rhapsody.
I got into Rami as an actor from watching Mr. Robot. There was no going back after that.

He did not eat too much food from what I’ve read.
When he how's the front man and he did his strutting and actually calisthenics he did enough exercise to stay skinny well maintained
