I have a couple of Big Lots left in my area. One just recently closed but I can see why the Franchise is suffering......disorganization! When you go in some of them, their products are everywhere, scattered and sometimes dirty. They have been a great source for Physical Media, though. Hope they figure it out
Just baught that New Adventures Of Superman from my closest Big Lots yesterday😅, from what I’ve read most of the disc rot is caused by 1 factory WB used to make a lot of their disc were pressed faulty between 02-09 and though not really broadcast if you contact WB if these disc are still in print they usually replace them
Best way to combat disc rot is making a digital copy immediately after you purchase it and make a back dvd copy..... usually I make 2 back up dvd copies ..thats how I found that worked for me
@@JEFFMAN316 they have 4k disc's available..... I agree it is costly.... but its a peice of mind regardless of the cost..... most 4k I find at thrift shops and it's low enough that I can justify the cost .... typical 4k disc is $30.... if I can record and put it on a disc for $10-$15 it's still worth the money
@@JEFFMAN316 as far as time consuming..... I did it when I was free on the weekends..... but at the same time if I was able to do 10-20 on a weekend I was happy..... I would transfer all that to my local Nas so I can watch it anywhere remotely from my home..... well worth the cost for convenience in my opinion
Yes I have that same superman DVD set, the second disc in mine no longer plays at all, disc 1 still works. I do have the contents of disc 2 backed up, so I am still good. I may just make a new disc eventually. They did a later pressing of season 1 it is in packaging like season 2 and 3.
Awesome video Jeffman316 hope you're well my Awesome friend . glad you're disc 2 works . I had to buy three times to get a perfectly working copy . the good copy I got from Walmart . the bad ones came from Hamilton books .

@@mannyva01 I did that for years and it just became too time consuming and costly. I also don’t have a way to do that with my 4Ks right now.

Yes I have that Superman set & 2nd dis won't play back well but I got a new 1 at the $Dollar tree before prices went up & am a happy old dude. 😄
