Absolutely! The one car I bought through Copart from Randy at Auto Auction Rebuilds for $2,600 cost me over $3,240 after fees. And they have gone up since then!
Got T-boned by a red light runner, and my paid for 2017 Volt got sent to a Copart place... I had to go there to get personal items out of it. The overall vibe of copart at least here in TX is shady as hell. You get the sense that the place is trying to screw it's customers via fees, and the people doing the buying and selling are trying to screw each other via flipping. Bonus: Had a few things stolen out of my car from the people at copart (battery booster and portable compressor)
It's possible that people looking at the auction, and not the actual copart employees stole those items, as generally these action places let people look inside and sometimes start vehicles completely without supervision. I have no evidence to back it up, but I'm sure some people go and look through the cars at auction just to take loose and unattended items from new lot vehicles.
@@jwalster9412 This was 12 hours after the crash, the car wasn't available to any public facing or brokers due to insurance being involved in that time frame, I was the first person down there in the morning so the only people who had their hands on it was co part employees.
Wasn’t really stolen. If it got sent to Copart because your car was totaled out, it’s Coparts car then. Should’ve taken your items when you had the chance
Dude, I was watching a 2003 Pontiac Trans Am Ceta edition that was flood damaged at the Tampa Copart. By the time it sold, it was at a cash price of $4,500. The water line was about the same height like your Bentley so I knew the only electrical there is for the seats. I tried finding someone with a license to buy there but, couldn’t get a hold of anyone.
Samcrac as always your videos thru the years funny and so informative, keep doing so,also i have bought a few items promoted on your channel, like Carplay, etc,,,Thanks Sam..Best for 2025...Quick questions, are you still friends with Rich Benoit or is it just playful rivalry,i like his channel, but by far prefer yours😀😀😀
I've seen deals on those cars...but they are the class action cars with valve train that disassembles itself...too bad...that's why you don't see any on the road anymore
Sam, make more of these, please! You're a fountain of knowledge when it comes to salvage auctions and those videos are so much better than the fake stepmother or dime-a-dozen supercar repairs that you never finish. This is your niche.
There is a g550 on Copart in Detroit that someone bought from the NC floods the water line was the roof! they cleaned it and now back on Copart for sale the bid now is over $8,000 😬
I don't know why I thought that but I thought that cool part only sold from businesses or dealerships or insurance totals I've never thought that you could buy a copart car take it on home do a little you know whatever you want to call it to it and then send it back to the cold part auction to make money off of cars that don't run.
That LR3 for sure was worth the $500 some bucks and the AMG Benz SUV for 675 or whatever it went for probably over a thousand for both out the door with their stupid fees, right away my thought was even on the Escalade that you could make money back on parts right away I'm sure with that AMG just the doors or the glass or the interior bits or certain parts maybe transmission maybe water pump ETC you'd make your money back quick but Sam did say they were the least desirable so I don't know what the demand is on those and how available parts are for them nowadays but that LR3 I would have took and got running as a daily or at least tried to, too clean for the price you might be able to get more money for scrap on the LR3 but then again I forgot about fees lol. But does anyone else agree with me that just parting out those vehicles alone you should be able to make at least triple your money if not more? That Escalade you'd probably make at least half your money back on just the battery alone I'm sure it's got some life left but either way just selling the battery to a scrap yard and it's weight alone should net you at least for 500 bucks easy. What do you guys think?
😂😂😂... Sounds like you have the "Christmas Fruit cake syndrome "...Ev'ry body says Fruit cake looks yummy and delicious, but Ev'ry year how many get sold and furthermore how many said fruitcakes bought actually get eaten.... So that should answer your questions...Yeah, parts galore, but...who wants 'em, and whose buying 'em...???😮😮!!!
I think the front wheels on the 63 AMG are askew. As you panned around the car, it seemed that the front right is slightly toed in, and the left is far more toed in. So maybe there was damage to the steering linkage from hitting something under the front? Whacking a steering rod would do that of course, and have probably damaged the sub frame at the same time.
The 650 BMW is pretty nice, although the V8 engine has some quirks that you need to check. At 145K miles, just say no. You can easily put $5K into a car like that between the cooling system, and oil leaks and something else that is broken that doesn't really break on modern cars.
God, keep this man away from Range Rovers 🙏😅 Another one that will sit on the trailer for the whole year and which Sam will give up repairing after a few videos with which he will earn back the value of that car. 🤷
Have you ever found a 911 turbo S when you were down there? I'm obsessed with the car but I don't think I would ever punk the cash down for a used retail one
Comments are right… Copart fees are insane… Keep up the good video. I like seeing what these cars are selling for after you look at them and show them to us.
Buying online is a hustle. I’ve seen many “off lot” cars say they sell for the moon but then are relegated by the same seller, week after week, month after month. Always just a scam trying to get you to think someone else bid up high.
My thoughts. Copart is a pain in the A**. I live in Georgia, so I look for vehicles in the souteast and especially GA and NC. (Individuals can bid on salvage cars.) I'm retired, so I like to visually inspect vehicles that I plan to bid on. My cousin has bought cars from police impound. Real pig in a poke, since you can't even inspect, but at least where he is the cars come with full title. Copart is a pain in the A** (Did I already say that?)
Samcrac when you're looking at that Escalade to your left was that beautiful solera made by Toyota I own one used cars that I'm telling you they are awesome 😎

Do a video on getting a rebuilt car inspected to get back on the road to sell.
The real question is how do you buy them in fla? Do you have a broker here? If so, share the contact lol
The fees are insane.

Love the Salvage Lot videos.
I really enjoyed this style. Thanks for putting the sold price on the screen. Extra work but it made the video much better.
walking around co-part makes me think we are walking round sams paddock minus the cows lol
There was a profit to be made parting out that 63AMG.
Keep these types of videos coming with the pricing…AWESOME
The 997 911 will have bore scoring at that milage.
That's Scott on the thumbnail image!
Yes I loved the final bid/sales prices and Sam you were pretty close on many of them. Great video!
Wow, I really enjoy your evals. With the sale prices, thanks.
Thanks for watching!

Some absolute BS made up fees there, surprised it didn’t have a breathing whilst bidding fee.
Don't pee in the yard, that's a $55 fee.

I avoid sellers who rely on 'sleaze fees' to pad their margin. Straight-up auctions where you pay only the price you bid is my choice.

I bet if the auction fees were less the final bid price would go up. I agree the fees suck but if you don't like them you don't have to buy.
How does a head bolt stretch?
