I live in LA and everytime I have seen Local H (usually they play the troubadour) they always play this song. funny part, the audience is usally flipping them off while they sing along to the song. Love these guys.
This band is amazing. I just love the music that came out of the Chicago area, just amazing bands. Local H, Hum, Jesus Lizard, Tortoise, Sea and Cake, Fig Dish, Veruca Salt, Wesley Willis Fiasco, on and on. Thanks so much for this upload!
@@johnbharris Godd@mn right! One of the most powerful live shows I've ever seen, David Yow in a mad man. Just about as intense an energy as I've ever seen, from the band and the crowd.
Totally. I just saw them last month open for Soul Asylum and they blew me away! Scott's pedal board is like 10 feet long, just this wall of sound. I'm seeing them again in Baltimore at the end of the month.
I can remember having a drink with Scott shortly after an amazing set in Cleveland, at Peabody’s I think. I had so much fun and those two put on an amazing set right after this came out. Makes me nostalgic for good music
They are so amazing. Saw them last month open for Soul Asylum. The members of the crowd who weren't familiar with them were lined up a mile long to buy merch after they played. And standing behind the table was Scott himself, working harder than ever.
I love this song, it would have been a huge hit had it been released at the height of the grunge era in the early 90s but it still rocks today. I come from CT, close to New York, and I love the lyrics. There are too many damn songs about L.A., even though it is gorgeous. To even things out you might as well fuck NY too, lol. The thing about Chicago is, it means "smells like rotten onions" in the Native American Language where the name came from.
Aside from Alaska, specifically name the other, "heartland" and "southern" states that get back "significantly more" than they pay. The tax structure for Federal taxes is the same everywhere; as for different or non-existent State taxes --- several "southern" and "heartland" states don't generate much money so there's not a lot to tax as far as individual or household taxes.
i fucking love this song and this band. i just saw them for the third time on the last tour and they never disappoint. i half a motto if you dont like local h then fuck you dont talk to me people like you scare me.i love how scott writes lyrics and as a fan for the last 10 years they dont have 1 bad album. this song is one of my favorites because i reallllly hate California song and new york ones to. love this band 4 ever.
I felt bad when I saw these guys at a gig in Akron and I probably didn't look enthused. Everyone else was dancing around, but then again- everyone else was shitfaced and I wasn't allowed any alcohol in my system.
It's a suburb of Chicago, so technically it's not Chicago. But suburbanites always say they're from Chicago so they don't have to go through all the trouble of explaining where they're from. I myself am also a Chicago suburbanite from Calumet City
Been one of my favorite bands for years and I finally saw them live with Electric Six a few months ago. Goddamn, these guys put on a great fucking show. I just wish I could see them in Chicago where Local H headlines rather than Electric Six. E6 is great and all, but they're no Local H.
Even if you buy into the concept of "exburbs" Santa Barbara is not in anyway a 'burb of Los Angeles. Check a map yo'. In case you don't check a map, cities between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara: Santa Monica, Malibu, Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, Moorpark.
actually im from Chicago i love this city raised and live on the city's South Side and there is no other city like it out there Chicago Rocks and if you can't stand the winters get the fuck out!!!
I love this song and living near Chicago I get it totally. Not too loud Scott or Anthony Keidis'll kick your ass!!!! ha ha Not!!! Please no more California songs... for real!!!
@hellomick3y your right it is a california song... a song about how cali is a lie... HE doesn't mean it in a literal sense ,, he's sayin the image of cali is fucked
Yeah I highly doubt that, your federal might end up making its way to the farmers if they had a bad year but I don't see why cali state tax would pay for peoples bills in the midwest doesn't make sense at all
Most underrated band ever
Dude as cliche as it sounds "As Good as Dead" got me through some tough shit and still does...
Fact
Local H is amazing! I've loved them since 1996
Truth. Been listening since 96' or 97'
Dude you stole my comment! I literally came here to say this. Such a great band man, it’s a shame they don’t get any recognition, not enough at least
I live in LA and everytime I have seen Local H (usually they play the troubadour) they always play this song. funny part, the audience is usally flipping them off while they sing along to the song. Love these guys.

I was born and raised in California and this song still kicks ass. Keep rocking Local H.
Best show I’ve seen

Ironically, this is my new favorite California song :D
I'm from Antioch IL(One hour from Chicago), now I live in San Diego California.
I can remember having a drink with Scott shortly after an amazing set in Cleveland, at Peabody’s I think. I had so much fun and those two put on an amazing set right after this came out. Makes me nostalgic for good music

No kidding! Saw three times and every time was better than the last. People lose their shit to them and I love it!😂
Local H was formed in Zion, IL which is a Northern Burb. I am in Aurora. So I think Joliet counts.

How about some more songs about Chicago....👍
odoylerules2010, this is the song "California Songs" by Local H. I guess that's why there's all the Local H references?
this is the Midwest anthem put your damn hands up!
@mypetmeatball That's what makes us awesome man. ps I am actually from the city of chicago, and yes it is ghetto lol
I think this was a message to red hot chilli peppers

And George Clinton , beach boys , etc

@@SidviciousWisconsin George Clinton is from North Carolina
@BM151 How bout:
Thumbs up if your from the Chicago Area and know that Local H is from Zion, Illinois which is like 30 minutes north of Chicago!
@BearTheGrudge
That's what reminded me of this song.

My favorite part is the end. "This video was shot in Hollywood, California"
I love how this song is about hating california songs and in the related videos they are all california songs...
i love this song! first heard this at 2 in the morning one night and was jamming so hard i blew right by a cop in a speed trap.
Fck NY TOO. Local H is true art no money or fame involved. I only passion to play Rock n roll.

Isn't this song about California songs?
Perhaps I missed it.
I think you just made one of the points of the song, though. Grats!!
Add another california song to the list.
Seein' them Friday.

ROCK N ROLL fuck yeah
You know they got a new (white) drummer, right? The old (black) one owns a clothing store in Chicago now, I think.

If you've been to Chicago, the NY and especially LA cant compare.
The 21 people who do not like this are from California...
How do you propose we stop people from writing songs?
Wait....people keep telling me that they're from Zion, not Chicago...or is Zion a part of Chicago? Someone tell me please.
@walt0500 "You have no taste in music and you really love our band." - Local H
best song on whatever happened to PJ soles.

CHICAGO!
Alright, just making sure.
i like the random "no california" sign that pops up 1:38
B-rate? Local H would have been as famous as STP or Soundgarden if their record company didn't get fucked over.
