@philipkors - In our original cut, we'd taken out Jordan's parts to give more playing time to Nate. After reading viewer feedback, we re-cut to fit Jordan's parts in addition to Nate's to give a well-rounded review demonstrated in different styles and genres of music and playing.

It's every bit a joy, if not more, than when I first got it. However, after truss rod adjustments, it actually plays slightly better than my RG1570. Since then, I also got a 6505+ that really brings out those high-gain tones.
It's nice to see you guys do these reviews. It's important that the playing is good, otherwise, it does not present the instruments capabilities in a positive manner. This guitar sounds much better than it sounds in this demo. Better settings on the amp sure would help as well.

Why doesn't anyone use the tremolo in ANY of these demo vids? All I'm looking for is if the tremolo actually feels as light as the Edge Zero but nothing. Think you guys or anyone else can tell me if there's a difference between the Edge Zeros I and II?
just bought this guitar today i love it so far
I FINALLY got mine a few days ago. When you play this thing through a Peavy JSX half-stack, the distortion tone, when playing lead solos, is considerably heavier than what you hear in this video. The action is low, but not quite as easy to play as my RG1570 Prestige. Tone-wise however, I'd say the Premium is overall better than the RG1570 Prestige; most likely due to the Dimarzio/Ibanez pups, verses the V7 and V8 pups on the RG1570.
The hand rounded fret edge treatment was left out. I dunno if it makes a ton of difference but it is touted greatly by the Ibanez commercials.
Also, the Marco Sfogli review in the related videos is great and (although using DiMarzio replacements instead of the stock DiMarzio/IBZ) shows more of what the guitar is capable of. And let's be real. Most of us would change the pickups anyway right?
May I suggest something? It sounds like the amp is being captured through a direct-out or something. Why not record it with a 4x12 cabinet with a Shure SM57 for example, and with the amplifier set at a generous volume level? That would reveal the sound characteristics of the guitar much more effectively.

I have made a track using this guitar. Stock pickups. It features cleans, lead tone and rhythm. Everyone seems to be complacent about the stock pickups. Have a listen to my track and then decide!
yeah the sweeping was weak....but respect for not using the neck pickup. so many guitarists seem to only be able to sweep with the neck. one of the reasons i think alexi is so badass...

I got a new rg and im not happy with the pickups. i absolutely hate the sound but i like the wood
i would appreciate if someone could tell me this is not how the guitar truly sounds, the sound on this video was awful as hell, it sounded like my 1st guitar, ibanez gio150, please answer my question. i wanted to buy the guitar tomorrow but now im doubtful about it..

I literally just played one in Guitar Center. Awesome. Would so trade it for my Schecter if I didn't need 7 strings. I mean, it has DiMarzio's, it's good. One thing that contributes to the crappy sound in this vid is the Marshall. Just doesn't fit together if you ask me. I'm sure this comment is irrelevant because you've probably already checked this guitar out for yourself.
i already bought it, but thanks for your opinions. it is an awesome guitar indeed, i love the single coil with bridge mode(even though it doesnt have a single coil lol), it gives the perfect sound for some chunky songs like rage against the machine
I am using a Ibanez RGD 320 guitar in my video's and so far it's got the sound I have wanted for my songs but I am wondering is there a Ibanez guitar with the sound of my RGD 320 but with a neck like mine with Medium Frets Instead of the jumbo frets? The guitar in this video seems good too but looks like it has Jumbo frets which are actually a bit too big for my Hands!
@thegamer1504 I would generally recommend a guitar without a trem. I know it's cool to squeal till a string snaps, but it's much easier to start with a standard bridge (of which Ibanez now has Premium range models with).

@coolmega33 The V7/V8 pups are ok, but I agree. The prestige should come with ACTUAL Dimarzio's or Seymour Duncans as stock, not the collaborative ibz/dimarzio jobs.... and I was surprised at just how bad the INF pups are when I tried them at my local shop.
Massive price jump from this model to the Prestige S5470F. I'll probably get this Model and put some real nice pups in it :-)

Orwellian reshoot! No, good call on the new version. The pickups and amp still sound broken, but at least we can listen without being distracted by the player.
@Deathrape2001 i have a basswood body guitar, its perfect. its sounds great. it doesnt sound worse than alder, mahogany, agathis, etc.. just sounds diffrent. alot of very high end guitars are made with basswood bodys. do your homework on basswood =D
No, it's in tune. I think the reason why it sounds bad to you is because he's playing chords in distortion, which for some odd reason sound out of tune because the string resonate sort of "fight with each other."
Also the gain isn't very "sharp" and it sounds more like an 80s rock tone. I like it, but you're probably more use to sizzling high distortion tones like you hear in music like thrash metal or death metal.

@xPsuedo Wood matters a great deal more than that. I will agree that the electronics and hardware make a huge part of the sound though. But if you had a strat with all things equal except the body wood being alder on one and mahogany on the other, or basswood, or maple, or ash. They would sound VERY different.

My basswood Schecter is actually one of my tightest sounding instruments.
Well, to all you guys who are saying find a better player: This guy is just showing the versatility of the instrument. He's not gonna be like every guy who demos an Ibanez with a high gain amps setting. Metal may not be this guys thing, but atleast he's doing something different.

@Deathrape2001 hah your hilarious and your getting way too into this conversation. when you play my guitar and say it sucks, then it sucks. i think my basswood body guitar sounds great. i replaced the stock pickup with an emg and it sounds even better. and yes my guitar IS perfect (for me).....

I own this guitar. Its an awesome guitar. If i were to have only watched this video before buying it, there is no fucking way i would have ever picked it up. Terrible demonstration.

Man, he didn't have any gain on the amp and the bass must have been all the way upa nd the treble all the way down. I hate to say it, but he needs to work on his chops a little before he does this again. My god. Love the guitar info though. Thank you ..

The pickups are dogshit that disgrace DiMarzio's name, but overall the guitar is fantastic. Switched the pups on mine for a Steve's Special and Air Norton and then a pair of Duncan 59s. Great sound. Also the tremolo is extremely stable. The ZPS system and recent revival of the lo pro edge puts Ibanez back on the spot for the greatest stability of floating trems. Only thing that compare are the FR Pro and Gotoh Floyd.
Basswood alone sounds a little too round on the top end and spongy in the low end. Put on a maple top and you have a great sounding instrument. I am sure one of the twats that dont know anything about guitars will chime in (who takes a guy called 'deathrape2001' seriously anyway?) but they don't matter.
When makers the caliber of Anderson and Suhr produce maple topped basswood instruments (John Suhr calls it a holy grail combo for lead playing) you know that the haters are just ignorant.
PLz check other reviews..the reviewer didnt even play 1% close to what others play..atleast get a good guy to test ur guitars....!! Novice playing..

the sound quality is fucken horrid.. too much bass, turn bass down adjust your eq settings, more treble.. sounds like mud.
it sounds cheap because of the pick ups, that's the problem with Ibanez guitars, you need to put some good P/U's there
