I think it’d be cool if infinite reappeared as a neutral character, where he’s trying to retake the phantom ruby from Eggman but still refuses to side with Sonic & friends, making him an unpredictable loose cannon Edit: Thanks for the ❤️, Lord!
Hmm... I like that idea, it reminds me of Ryuga in the later part of beyblades, someone of extreme power, and an old rival of the mc, and would randomly hinder or assist the heros. I kinda hope Sega does something like this!
I have thought of a better and slightly edgier approach for the new villain, Infinite. I believe Infinite’s backstory should have been presented differently to the final version. Here are a few points I would like to bring to the table: 1.Make Infinite have a proper reason to *Hate* Shadow. 2.Flesh out Infinite’s Jackal Squad which each character having some involvement with his downfall to what he becomes. 3. Make Infinite have a unique personality before the tragedy. 4.If Sega wants to push the edgy factor ,how about making one of the female Jackal squad members a love interest of Infinite? We could say that they bonded a long time ago and fell in love. They decide to have a child to take care of but (this would make a good concept about teaching the negatives on racism)due to their species’ past conflicts with certain tribes, that forces the modern Jackals away from the main civilizations. One day Eggman appears and “offers help” in exchange for their skills. Without any choice Infinite signs up with Jackal Squad to work with Eggman for a place to live (and secretly raise their child). One day Shadow could enter a branch of one of Eggman’s facilities and raise havoc. Jackal Squad is called in to clean up the mess and they try to deal with Shadow. Infinite’s wife , for example, is told to stay behind to guard one of Eggman’s special vaults due to her being pregnant and having great defensive skills. After a short while Shadow reaches the vault and confronts Infinite’s wife. Shadow, without being any more patient, *decimates* her! Infinite finally catches up and sees what happened to his wife. In anger, he lashes out towards Shadow at full strength to try save her from any further harm. Shadow brutally mops the floor with him. When Infinite comes back from unconsciousness, he sees his wife near death! He dashes in panic towards her looking for a sign of a heartbeat. There is barely a pulse coming from her! She is put in a coma-like state. Eggman soon hears Infinite’s screams of anguish and offers him a deal; work with him and get revenge on those who took down Infinite’s family. Now with the phantom ruby Infinite has equipped, it is one of the only power sources managing to keep her alive. Since only Eggman knows how to operate the healing abilities of the phantom ruby, Infinite has no choice in the matter. Furthermore, Infinite dons the mask and is ready to show everyone the pain he and his squad (which he refers to as a family) had to go through..... What do you think?
Eh... probably remove the part where Shadow aborts a fetus. Just him killing Infinite's love would probably be enough to set him off. Other than that, this seems to give Infinite ten times more depth than the official game gave him. Seriously, who had the bright idea to have made Infinite be a little bitch who got salty after one loss? If anything, you'd think that surviving an encounter with the Ultimate Lifeform when thousands of robots and past enemies didn't would be proof to him that he's tough.
Ok, let's be honest, Sega fucked up There's no way of saving the game or the characters, because the damage has already been done. However, we can make alternate universes where things are better written One of my favorite theories (courtesy of the Sega scourge) is the custom hero (gadget) and infinite used to be pals. So maybe that could've been a way to further their relationship. An au I'm working on, Called "forgiveness" takes place after forces.
Sorry this is late but the way to fix the writting is remove Pontaff, we've seen their storywritting and ideas for everything, it's shit and they should've never written this game, they ruined what could've been a truly dark and emotional game, one that's hopeless and actually leaves an impact on players.
I can see Infinite come back and going through the Shadow the Hedgehog route, where he forgets what he did in Forces and goes on a self discovery journey in trying find out who he was, while at the same time, he comes across 2 members of his Jackal Squad who managed to survive or escape Shadow's ambush attack and tries to get Infinite/Zero to remember who he is originally to no avail, until near the end where Infinite/Zero finally gets his memories back, (including the ones where he remembers the death of his squad). Infinite/Zero has a heart to heart moment with the last of his squad members, and decides to protect and be there for his teammates no matter what. After he meets with Dr. Eggman again (maybe through a boss fight), Eggman tries to convince him to join his side. Infinite/Zero refuses and lets Eggman know that he doesn't need him, when he has his team members who will be there for him no matter what. This is where we are introduced to Team Jackal.
I came up with a really dark theory behind why Infinite was so loyal, cause it confused the heck out of me too. SO basically, after Infinite was beaten by Shadow, he got the Phantom ruby from Eggman right? Well, what if more happened? What if Eggman modified the Phantom Ruby to make Infinite forget almost any past memories and brainwashed him into following him? Once the modified ruby was in him, there would be nothing he could do to turn away from Engman's commands. At least not big ones. Whenever Infinite let Sonic, Silver, and OC live,he was remembering his little bits of sanity and humanity he had left. The mask represents Infinite's unbreaking loyalty Eggman, since he because that monster known as "Infinite" and gained the mask and ruby after meeting him. I don't know, it's just an Idea. Edit:OK, so another plot device I had was that Eggman had to torture Infinite to get him to that level of insanity and obedience, this is evident by all the weird machinery surrounding Infinite while in the tube in the opening shot. So things like phycological torture using the phantom ruby or something along those lines. Forcing him to constantly relive the death of the other jackals and the day Shadow assaulted him. Maybe even using physical violence and/or medications like sedatives or narcotics to keep him on edge, most likely causing some form of panic disorder that went untreated, so he's been keeping his true emotions and mental state to himself. Or if drugging is the case, this would explain why he is so calm and quick to follow orders. He never moves much either, and he also talks deeply and slowly, which may be side effects of said medication. I dunno. We also see Sonic getting kidnapped and tortured within the plot. But Eggman wouldn't have any reason to do this, since he could just send Infinite to kill him personally. He went through all the trouble of detaining Sonic and framing his death, for what seemed like no reason. He also didn't bother with Tails, which seemed odd. The time there didn't do anything either. But I always believed Eggman was trying to copy Infinite, make another ultimate weapon to rival Infinite and the resistance. I think Eggman was making those Phantom Ruby prototypes to control Sonic the same way he did Infinite. While he copied them them, Infinite would torture him as he pleased. Breaking him. Slowly. To prep him for the Ruby. Thats also why they kept him on the death egg as well, keeps him well hidden and in a large environment. Oh my god I should really stop rambling XD
That covers a lot of plot holes, actually. In the game's beginning, Eggman states that his latest creation would be what led him to victory - obviously, this can refe to only two things: Infinite, the Phantom Ruby, or both. This is seemingly supported by the fact that when entering Eggman's lab later in the game where Infinite was "born", Tails points out "So this is where Eggman built Infinite". Amy backs this up, commenting "What a lonely place to be brought into the world". All this seems to *heavily* imply that Eggman created Infinite the way his ancestor created Shadow. However, in the comics, we know Eggman... *didn't* create Infinite. Turns out, he was the leader of a mercenary squad and *not* artificially created. We also know Eggman didn't create the Phantom Ruby, as in that same comic, it turns out that he just found it lying outside his base - him touching it results in the Ruby creating an illusion of Eggman Land, setting off the story. So, neither Infinite nor the Phantom Ruby were made by Eggman... at least, not their "final" versions. The theory that whoever Infinite was had been erased by Eggman's modifications and brainwashing him into Eggman's loyal soldier would then make Infinite's behavior make sense. The fact that Infinite was a wandering mercenary with no true allegiance to anyone not in his squad actually supports this, as it would explain why Infinite still sometimes does things his own way (i.e. sparing Sonic) rather than following his orders to the letter, as some of his independent personality and maybe even a few of his memories before Eggman modified him were still carried over after being turned into the Infinite we see during the story.
I think it would've been cool to see Infinite reappearing with new powers each time by letting Eggman experiment on him. It would've shown him as this power obsessed freak who would do anything to beat the ones who humiliated him, even at the cost of basically being a lab rat. It also would've been awesome if at one point he just breaks, like at the end of Sonic Forces. He was so obsessed with becomming stronger that he's basically been pushing himself beyond limit to not just control his new powers, but even just to stay alive after so many things had been done to his body. I don't think that redemption would've worked with this scenario, he'd probably choose to die rather than recieve any help from Sonic and his friends. That would've been a tragic story. But I think this is too complicated for Sonic Team...
I really liked him, he could keep his powers using a phantom ruby replica, cause those were in forces I don't want him to work with eggman but he does not have to betray him, he could leave on his own terms and go after the heroes for revenge, eggman would not have a problem with this cause its not against him and it does help him, I really want a story with infinite as the main villian, I love eggman but I don't like how he is shoe-horned in as the final boss all the time
I was hyped when infinite was announced and I really also liked him in the game cause it was really be unexpected. I really liked the game C: I wish he would come back in futher sonic games
Ok I liked infinite and I would love for him to return I would also love him to be in sonic boom season 3 maybe as his own boom version or the same one in sonic forces disappeared to this dimension with the phantom ruby and work for boom Eggman and before you ask I believe there will be a season 3 because on Twitter I found that it will return in 2019 but he touched my Opinion either way I would love to see infinite again
I personally think Infinite could return as the main villain in a sequel to Forces, or in a Generations sequel, since his Phantom Ruby powers (if he gets them back) can be used to change time and space etc. At the end of Sonic Forces, Infinite seemed to retreat, so could still be alive, which I'm hoping is the case.
I could imagine if sonic and the gang found Infinite in the future but they didn't recognize him cause his fur had greyed and he covered himself in a hooded cloak and lived as a hermit for many years. It's not like they ever saw his face in the game.
My take on why Infinite never turns on Eggman is because he is dependant on Eggman to maintain his new sense of self. As we see at the end of Forces, Eggman just drags infinite away after he loses. Eggman has control over him. The power Eggman gave him is conditional. Because of this, Infinite doesn't have much of a choice in regards to listening to him. Eggman can more or less pull the plug on him at any time. I like this. It allows the villain to be powerful and not betray Eggman while maintaining believability and earning Eggman villain points.
Well, sega seems to have plans for Infinite (let's hope they can make him a good character, especially given the headcanons and fanfictions people have made about him)
i think that it could be great, if Infinite WAS the phantom ruby itself. not, use the phantom ruby... literally, BE, the phantom ruby. like a part of the ruby existence, its sentience if you will. because i find it strange that he and his squad just appeared after eggman found the stone. maybe this was the ruby trying to show eggman how to control its power, or even toying with him so the ruby could develop... grow... live... even reproduce... (i wrote him this way in the fanfic i did, Infinite being one of the two shards of a failed proto-ruby... something to rival with the chaos emeralds).
If Infinite comes back i think he could have him have mystrio powers where he is the master of illusions but is a fake where he is good as zero he could have a halfmask and googles or something that resembles him of what he used to be And he could be like tortured by eggman And the phantom ruby kept him forget that torture of what eggman did To keep infinite loyal and what shadow did And there would be flashbacks of screams of images jackles And one image of a black and red hedgehog and his character is him knowing his name but his entire past And having him telling us that those scenes of him sparing us And the other characters and us the avatar he could find out that they were friends and rebuilds the friendship and he could here eggman saying of the phantom ruby having the person that has it will take a long time To be loyal to him and the solution is torture And he could like:drug him, physically tortured and mently And one flaw that eggman did not know is the more the user has the phantom ruby they will remember sad, tragic, raging like any bad day they had they will have bits and small parts of those days and that could have him be triggering eggman And he could be all like now you know how anger fells like
yes yes yes. i fact some made a theory the the ruby itself has a mind of it own. what if at the end there he was talking to it? and it pulled him to safety it might have liked sonic and friends from all the interactions. and didn't want them to fight anymore. but infinite still wanted to fight. that would be a twist in it of itself. though if people figured it out already maybe not a twist.
yeah, hi can i say that the zero jackal's illusion hits (when you encounter an illusion attack) should not be damaging you. sorry i just wanted to sound rellevant. :V
Keep in mind that the phantom ruby prototype needed a power source and who supllied it with power, eggman so yeah that's why he didn't turn on eggman cause he's ruby needs energy to run.
OK maybe he didn't turn against eggman because keep in mine The Phantom Ruby needed an energy supply and who supplied him with that energy, eggman,so yeah that's why he didn't turn on eggman
i find it weird how his powers are illusions and yet it seems more just warping of reality so why did they make it illusions just wird also who know maybe he finds the phantom ruby of this world and keeps it with him trying to screw over sonic and co
I think it’d be cool if infinite reappeared as a neutral character, where he’s trying to retake the phantom ruby from Eggman but still refuses to side with Sonic & friends, making him an unpredictable loose cannon

i wud like a sonic forces 2 wear they fix infinite

well heres something: could infinte and shadow have similar personalities?
(yeah i dont sound super professional but heyy)
also please can we have a non straight character 🙃
I hope he returns. He had so much potential.
Agreed he could've been such a great villian
I liked Infinite. He’s a very interesting character. He should be in future games.
If I had to be honest, I found that he was easy to relate to.
Mephilie The Dark same. I hope he shows up in the IDW comics
He's a canine. That's why he's loyal.
He's a good boi
It's not really canines, it's mostly dogs.
For thousands of years, we've selectively bred them to be always loyal to no one but us.
Ok, let's be honest, Sega fucked up

I hope he returns. I love infinite and I wanna know more about him
he will become a stage magician as a master of illusions
He's just a gimmick to spruce up the plot to forces. I doubt Sega ever planned to keep him around in any capacity.
infinite was an ok villain he's just like wade wilson from x men origins wolverine

Thank you for the video and about Infinite aka Zero the Jackal.
yeah, hi can i say that the zero jackal's illusion hits (when you encounter an illusion attack) should not be damaging you. sorry i just wanted to sound rellevant. :V
ps i will have an illusion myself thank you very much ;D
Keep in mind that the phantom ruby prototype needed a power source and who supllied it with power, eggman so yeah that's why he didn't turn on eggman cause he's ruby needs energy to run.
Also infinite had a prototype
maybe after losing his power and becoming weak again he makes a DARK deal with a devilish character
I hope so
I'm writing a fanfic that involves Mephiles' return, and he "resurrects" Infinite
A lot of people thought he was a chinchilla...
He returned in sonic forces 2
anyone else tired of eggman?
Where it's your theory about why Infinite would betray Eggman?
How many times will you say in theory
Infinitely not weak
Infinite is a joke.
Oh no.. XD
