For whatever reasons today was the first day I have ever thought about sand mines and what they might look like. This video is exactly what I wanted to see. Thanks!
Hi, As it looks like you work in this industry wondered if I can ask you something? We are in central Florida and looking to try and buy a home but a lot of the new build outs are really close or actually bordering some of the biggest sand mines we have here. With explosions involved and them mining for sand and phosphate, I wonder how the underground infrastructure is effected and whether the foundations of these homes will stay intact? We moved to FL 10 years ago and I only felt comfortable on a higher floor of a condo that has been here a long time bc I did not want to be on ground level in anything new based on a fear of sinkholes. This looks to be something that could contribute to that? Do you know if there are any safeguards in place that they do to prevent cave ins for the areas around them and how far away should a home be in FL from a sand mine to not have a problem? Thanks Considering our ground structure is mostly limestone and not very solid, it makes me worried. I suspect the land around the sand mine was less expensive for the builders to purchase, thus the huge amount of building going on. I find it actually quite ironic that they mine the sand for the home foundations to build that may not do well bc they are too close to the mine. Any info is appreciated.
What happens when there's no more sand to mine? Do you fill in the hole or just leave a "man-made lake"? I have seen some areas that have been mined-out and left to look like Hiroshima. Not good. It's basically transformed into unusable (and unsightly) land.
This is Permian Frac Sand facility in Voca. They just shut down actually. We closed our plant there too unfortunately. Cool video, but I wish I could have hooked you up at our place in Voca before it was closed. I think there was a bit more to see. If you want to do another video with a much larger, but different type of sand mine let me know. I’d love to use it for marketing.
This plant was designed to not be loud and we do not have any neighbors so it bothers no one. Lights and noise were a big part of design to not be harmful to employees or visitors.
In todays mining practices we make it look nice. It will obviously not be flat field when finished but have some contours and replanted in grass and tress.
It's an evil mess and then mining outfit will grow breast file bankruptcy and beat feat. Not found management of crucial eater supply and eco system damage is blatenly. These guys are the pits in the abyss. It'd very sad

Permian Frac Sand is not closed, we are still running and selling sand.
Why did it close?
These things are horrible. They should be illegal.

Hi, could you please tell me where this quarry is?
Central Texas
This is in Central Texas.
Nice you put all this music with the video so you can't hear any of the horrendous noise one of these places makes.
@Connor Falco I'll say what I want. You can do the same.

hello,I wonder what the field would be like after the mining has ended?
