It feels like the growing popularity of BL and GL series in Thailand has helped spark conversations and encourage people to take a stance, fostering greater understanding and acceptance over time (i might be wrong though)

I think Pran always enjoyed the thought of teasing or getting teased but the moment this "thing" becomes more real, more serious, he backs down. Nanon really can transport so many emotions with his body language. Conflict incoming at some point and the little love bubble bursts. Mind you, this is Pran's first relationship so everything is new to him. Pat was and is more outgoing and is more practical and able in "surviving" these critical moments. Personally, I'm more like Pran, permutating all the bad things that could happen instead of just enjoying the moment that is. He knows it will end badly (in his mind) so he doesn't even entertain the thought of just going with the flow until it inevitably crashes. Glass half empty perspective while Pat is coming more from the bright side of life. And his mother's comment didn't help much at all.

Oh, that I got sorted. Posting it is fine, it’s just RUclips flags it sometimes. So I have to go through this process filling in a form and submitting it to GMMTV. However, the issue is GMMTV removed Bad Buddy and other shows from RUclips in most countries. The solution is to use a VPN - which I now got covered 😁

With its emphasis on coming out, it certainly qualifies as both of those in addition to manifesting the traits associated with BL. Netflix has been a tremendous supporter of queer media, but seldom licenses BL series for its consumers in Europe and the Americas.* I've long wondered whether whoever buys the shows for Netflix disdains BL as not gay enough for western taste. Why else would Asian Netflix stream so many titles that western customers simply cannot access? Anyway, Gameboys is one of the few on Netflix, which may be why Fabi found that in the first place. Romeo climbs the Capulet balcony but once, but Bad Buddy elevates that legendary moment into a recurring motif: (Pat climbing into Pran's room), (young Pat and Pran with the telephone string), (rooftops [plural] as site for open air professions of feelings), (Pat climbing to Pran on the outdoor staircase), (Finale's balcony scene). 8. Every Shakespeare play must include---a play within a play. 9. Kwan and Riam as Thai avatars for Romeo and Juliet. 10. What kind of story? We can describe them as "star-crossed lovers." So chalk up another instance of Bad Buddy riffing on Romeo and Juliet.
A Dozen Riffs on Tragic Love
1. Our story starts in fair Bangkok, with--Rival gangs brawling in public.
2. Local authority (the professor as prince) threatening exile (expulsion) if the behavior does not change.
3. Parents feuding bitterly over long-ago events.
4. Romeo and Juliet not really sure why their families feud, but reluctant to disobey parents (filial obligation)
5. Romeo and Juliet, smitten and giddy with feeling, pursue each other despite knowing the obstacles.
6. Romeo and Juliet keep their relationship clandestine.
7. Balcony analogs. Romeo climbs the Capulet balcony but once, but Bad Buddy elevates that legendary moment into a recurring motif: (Pat climbing into Pran's room), (young Pat and Pran with the telephone string), (rooftops [plural] as site for open air professions of feelings), (Pat climbing to Pran on the outdoor staircase), (Finale's balcony scene).
8. Every Shakespeare play must include---a play within a play.
9. Kwan and Riam as Thai avatars for Romeo and Juliet.
10. Friar Tuck facilitates the star-crossed pair = Tong's beach camp facilitates bring Pat and Pran together. (Ep 11 provides even more solid evidence for the Tong as Friar equivalent.)
11. Angry friends, when they find out.
12. And, of course, the biggest parallel of them all, because a Shakespearean tragedy can end only one way: "Pat and Pran" dies in the end. True to Romeo and Juliet, a self-harm moment wrought by their own willful action.
