    3rd story. OP is not the jerk. the WIFE is. If a husband is supposed to accommodate to his wifes schedule, and she cannot accommodate to his, its not a marriage. If i was told, "Please be ready at this specific time," i will be ready at THAT SPECIFIC TIME. Not TRYING to get ready when that time rolls around. No, i will be ready to go BEFORE that time arrives.

    The coworker is an idiot. Yes, OP could have told the landlord they were taking it, but the landlord never should have assumed they would stay. That's like being upset that OP took their furniture when they moved out. It's OPs property so the landlord was stupid for thinking they were entitled to it. If they wanted them to stay, they could have offered to buy them.

    Story 3. I think the hubby is in the right. My whole family are gamers and although I'm not, I'm a complete bookworm. Guess who is always late, me, the bookworm. It took a similar incident for me to realise how much stress I was putting my family under. My rather weak protestations that they should remind me sooner had me ignoring their reminders, because I knew they were making extra accommodations for me. It took me being left behind and a serious talking to by all the members of the family, before I stopped being late for everything.

    When someone moves into an apartment if there is no laundry room then the tenant is responsible for keeping things neat and clean even if it means they have to buy their own washer and dryer. So as long as they have the receipts proving they bought what wasn't included in their lease they have the right to take them when they move out. The landlord has no right to keep someone else's property! If anything the landlord committed a fraud by advertising the apartment included a washer and dryer when it was his extenant who bought them and not the landlord.

  • @synthwolfe8906
    @synthwolfe8906 10 месяцев назад +8

    story 1: absolutely freaking NOT the jerk. you bought them, they're yours. until and unless the landlord and YOU arrange a mutually agreed upon sale, completely independent of the existing and/or prior lease (depending entirely on the individual's situation, which could change between OP and other, relevant cases).

    S3: Something else is going on besides the planned baseball game and this was the breaking point and OP needs to reflect and think things if he wants to move forward with this marriage but come on narrator the OP was thinking objectively and the wife wasn't, She was reminded multiple times and didn't care for those up until it was way to late.

His wife needs to either get her sh*t together or get used to being left behind. And the note on the door would go in the trash and I'd go straight to My bedroom. Story 1: It's literally OP's property. Landlord can not expect to steal her property. OP huge NTA. That coworker is, in short, a dumbass.
    Story 3: OP's wife needs to be setting alarms or get help. This is a reoccuring issue. OP has talked to her about it. She still didn't do anything to help herself make sure she was on time. OP could've been nicer by telling her that he was leaving but he's less of a jerk than she is. You can't expect everyone to wait on you all the time. If alarms don't work then you need to be getting professional help. Not everyone is going to go out of their way to accommodate you.
    That said, I do think both parties have big communication issues that they need to work on. OP seems to be rude to her about it but she can't just not be on time. That's going to cause problems. You can't, for instance, constantly be late for work and then wonder why you got fired. You have to be able to be on time and can't expect people to just accept you being late. It's an issue his wife needs to work on and she should probably take it less as an insult and more as a wake up call that she has an issue. OP was out of line for calling her a child though. Both are the jerk, OP just less of a jerk. His wife needs to either figure out a solution or get help because most of the time people will not accommodate you if you're late.
    Story 5: OP made a mistake. Mistakes happen and this is a painful one. OP should probably get some therapy to move past it and try to heal. It's hard though and I sympathize with him. I used to have a relationship with a good person but I broke it off due to paranoia stemming from my trauma and ab*se I was going through at the time. I regret it. I feel for OP. It does make you feel broken. It sucks and it's hard but you have to find a way to carry on and accept your mistake. In the meantime, OP should try to find ways to heal and learn the lesson that was to be had here. Nothing is wrong with poly relationships but both people should want that from the start and should set clear boundaries, it shouldn't just be thrown in years later. I hope OP can find someone else and heal.
    Story 6: It sucks for the sister but those kids are not OP's obligation. Especially since they are not close. OP had no say about those children coming into existence so it's not really OP's problem, especially since the sister has stolen from OP and caused issues. It's unfortunate but that's how life works. I feel sorry for those kids but I can't blame OP for not wanting to lose $18,000.

He can talk with her and mention how important it is for him to be punctual to certain events, but I find that if it's someone's personality you're either going to have to accept it or just end up bitter married people in the end.

    The op said she is not a dumb woman because she has a science degree 8:25. The narrator completely misread. And the husband said he wanted to leave at 6, 7:11 .the wife was getting ready at 6 7:31. So the husband is right and the narrator and wife are wrong

Should have told her before you left. But at the end of the day, if she can't control her time, it’s on her. Shouldn’t have just left, but she needs to manage her time. Have you actually talked to her?

    Story 5: Op need to get a therapist to get of that hoe. If she really did love you then she wouldn't have request or even thought about have an open relationship if you are not alright with it in the very first place. She wanted an out without being the bad guy. Find a hobby, go out with friends and family. But importantly, improve yourself to not get heartbroken by another hoe again.
    Story 6: Yeah, this idea could be a slippery slop but, if it is important, op could offer a week to hire someone to watch the children. After that, it's the sister's problem to find someone else. No bargain or negotiations. Also, the caretaker is the only calls you if something happens, the sister doesn't get a say on anything that isn't related to the children's wellbeing, like for an example an extension to how long the caretaker will be staying with the kids. That is how far I would suggest on helping op's sister. Yes, it would dip into your funds but it is a solution. If the sister doesn't like the idea then just move on. I think you're her last resort seeing that she has called you for a year. She could have asked neighbors or friends to help but odds are bridges were burned and now she's comes begging for your help. Like I suggested, for 1 week pay someone to watch the kids and the sister doesn't get a say on how long they can stay or who can watch them then move on after you get the answer.

    Sounds like it's a problem for the landlord. I mean, why are *you* responsible for telling him that the place no longer has a washer and dryer? Wouldn't he have to jot that down during an inspection before putting the place back on the market? So it sounds to me that he didn't even do a routine inspection before listing it, which by the way, can land him in even MORE trouble if something important (like a busted pipe, mold, etc) surfaces *after* the new tenants moved in. The landlord sounds scummy and it's not your responsibility to cater to him by leaving behind what I'm going to assume is a $3,000+ property set.
    He's literally out here for profit without effort, fuck him and fuck your coworkers who think you're in the wrong for taking YOUR property with you.

    The narrator been simping for a bit ain't he, for the 3rd story, yes the OP is a bit of a jerk, but his wife is far much more terrible, education has nothing to do with it. It's fact that if she has done this multiple times, she's angry she's facing the consequences of her actions, you don't just forget about something you've always wanted to do because you're gaming, I game a lot and I make sure to manage my time to be ready for the things i need and want to do, especially things things I've always wanted to do.
    In short, he is a jerk yes, but she is an even bigger jerk for her lack of time management skills that he has called her out on numerous of times.

    story 3?: if my feeling is right, the wife in the baseballstory is probebly neurodivergend (most likeky adhd) and could probebly be barely able to plan time. And even if not, the comments about that a adult woman should be able to plan the time, are ableist as hell
    to story 5: no an open relationship is not cheating with permission, what she did was cheating, not because it was an open relationship. but because she broke the rules they had set for that relationship. the blank condemnation of open relationships and polyamory because it was not for him, is wrong. here is to say that it sounds like it wasn't thourd thru how that would work and on top her disregarding of the rules anyway that caused this.
    at last, it sounds that he realy needs therapeutic help.

      Time blindness isn't an excuse, you can set alarms. I understand time blindness makes things more difficult but you have to accommodate that yourself, not expect everyone around you to accommodate that. It's a reoccuring issue. There's an easy solution to set alarms. I always set alarms to provide enough time for me to be ready and not be late. Sometimes I have 3 set alarms a day to ensure I'm not late.

      Yeah, if she hasn't already been diagnosed with adhd or similar, she needs to. And if Hubby is unwilling to work with her, like making sure she's getting ready at 5:30 instead of just watching her literally forget about time... nah. And the fact that he refers to her being like a child bc she's time blind? That's too much, man. You obviously don't care enough and maybe you're better off seperate. Or maybe get some counseling, the both of you. 🙄

    • @Juzokinnie
      @Juzokinnie 10 месяцев назад

      @@StrangerMoontail He's definitely too far by calling her a child for it but she also needs to recognize that she has an issue and it's one she has to manage herself by setting alarms. There is an easy solution. She shouldn't expect everyone around her to accomodate her. OP shouldn't insult her for it though.
