I sold apple products for 8 years in retail general space like best buy, and cellular stores like Verizon. What makes me dislike Apple so easily is my exposure to the sales world and how different it is to the rest of the side of Apple you see as a consumer. Example: in my time in retail, I regularly viewed the weekly ad papers to see what deals were available that week. On any page where Apple products were, you would not see similar product, only Apple product. Page dedicated to tablets, separate page for iPad. Page for smart phones, separate page for iPhone. Apple loves to separate themselves from their competitors as if they're above them, when they aren't. They're trying to sell you a product that does the same things as the other product, just in a different way. A tissue with lotions and aloe on it doesn't all the sudden become a different category than the regular tissue. It's still a tissue, just with extras. Apple even teaches you to not say things like tablet, smartphone, laptop, smart watch, stylus, or desktop. They want you to use the products name, not its function. It's of course very effective for them, but for those of us trying to inform a customer, it's confusing and opens up doors I wasn't expecting. Because Apple has separated themselves from everyone and everything, our common practices for the things we did with phones for example, had to completely change with Apple products. When transferring content from one device to another, an iPhone needs to have both the old and new phone on the latest software update. Then they both need to take their sweet time during the set up process to transfer data. Icloud transfer is a great tool to get all your content back in that it does quite well making it easy for the person, but the process takes forever to do wirelessly for most customers, and retail stores aren't allowed to use iTunes so we are forced to do wireless or a system transfer machine which I blank on the name, but it's not Apple so it's also slow. Compare that to Samsung smart switch, which allows you to connect the two devices wired or wireless to each other. This process is done after the initial setup and activation screens, meaning I can assure that my customers device was activated successfully, and start the process, then let them leave while it does the rest. Samsungs method is easier, faster, and friendlier to salesperson and customer because no one has to wait around in the store for an hour if they don't wish to. While the competition makes things easier on the customer and also allows many levels of freedom, Apple makes things easier on the customer by taking those freedoms away. Apple can make a process "so simple", but the customer doesn't ever get to see or understand what's happening, just sit there and wait and hope the content they wanted transfers over. I don't like the lack of freedom apple provides, and I especially don't like those that pretend the loss of freedom can be justified somehow. Apple devices may "just work" but you lose so much ability and freedom in that process that it's becomes meaningless to those who want an experience that isn't exactly the same as the next person's. I could rant all day, but I'll stop at that.
Underrated comment for sure. I totally agree with everything you said. People don't realize the marketing scheme Apple has in place to manipulate them and it's sad.
Ugh I hate how Apple hides things and makes what should be a simple process a fucking pain in the ass. Seriously it takes me 3 mins to transfer data between Android phones while on iphones it takes 10 or more because of the dumb process you described.
It very true you don't got much freedom, you literally have to make an apple id to access most of the phone in the first place. You cannot down any apps without it.
Apple logo was isaac newton seating under a tree and an apple falling , this logo was complicated, so they made an apple with a bite to see the difference between apple and cerise
Mostly because its SO locked down and has NO personalisation options, no PROPER file management. It's just TOO forced. Literally EVERYONE'S iPhone is the same. It's just WAY too dated and restrictive for my requirements. The fact that they offer LESS functions than a very low end Android phone at a premium price is unacceptable.
Apple is sort of on the outskirts peeking in. Looking at features that look compelling until they flop. And then see one feature that people love. And at least attempt to add it to apple products, and also improve it when they do add it. It’s smart in my option.
This is exactly why I hate Apple too. Having the freedom to modify my phones functionality and appearance is a requirement for me. For example, I'm always transferring files between my phone and my PC and I love the convenience of being able to plug my phone into my pc and instantly be able to browse the files on my phone like I could on a flash drive, and even on my phone itself I use file managers to move around and organize files and folders and keep between my internal memory and SD card. Not being able to do any of that, and not even having the freedom to expand my storage with an SD card is horrible, and I'll never understand how people can live with that.
The worst thing about Apple is they slow the performance down on older devices over time just so consumers can buy a new one and therefore earn income from it. As chef Ramsay says, just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s good.
@@atharva_godse Yeah but there are Still Companys (They make the Promise I only can speak with test and Reviews) that are Performing better for a longer period of time
Apple is too much closed and self-centered. Apple makes devices that can work within the same Apple-universe only, and they make proprietary software on proprietary hardware with proprietary parts and with proprietary screws (so it’s a pain whenever an Apple product has issues, and trust me, it happens a lot), and you almost need proprietary fingers to use them. It’s all about brand and nothing else. It’s not technology, it’s jewelry.
Yeah I don’t know man. I had an iPhone loved it, it worked well. I got an S21 Galaxy now, I also love this phone. Just depends on how you take care of your stuff. Most people are not like you dude, they just need something to text, call, use social media and Google that’s really it.
I swore never to work on another apple product again, Their products are the most complex to disassemble and repair. Of course their newer phones and certain tablets are an exception they improved the serviceability being able to remove the screens without the use of a heat gun and spudger tool. The last product I worked on was replacing the screen on a Macbook air, I couldn't believe how delicate and compact everything was, not to mention the tiny ass cables.... Give me a lenovo, dell hp, Toshiba etc I can have it apart and back together in no time. I have a 2008 Dell latitude e6400 that I bought new the OEM operating system was Vista business, it then went to 7 pro then 8, 8.1 and now the latest version of windows 10. As someone who has used Apple devices for years, I essentially made the switch to android due to the Apple ecosystem being extremely limiting. Especially because I work over multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Android, IPadOS) the liminting factors become very apparent. To the point that my IPad is the most liming device I own and, if it wasn't for school and digital art on the go, would essetially be useless to me... My IPad would already become more usable if they would just fix the files app and add a stupid calculator to the Ipad so I don't have to download a calculator with a shitload of ads or monthly subscription.
@@emanuel_soundtrack Getting viruses/malware on android is actually pretty hard unless you install APKs. Which it warns you about, and it's something you should only do if you know what you're doing. Anti viruses exist, and they are pretty good at what they're made for. Yes, you are more at risk, but you're able to do more. That's just how safety works in general. Despite that, you can also get malware and stuff on Apple devices aswell. It's a pretty big OS, so it's also getting targeted. Horrendously overpriced for what you actually get for your hard earned cash... Crazy repair charges if you are out of warranty, bad built quality, locked into their ecosystem meaning more money for them.
Samsung and google aren't that much cheaper, Chinese phones are blocked, you should get the apple warranty then, build quality is extremely luxury, you chose to get into an ecosystem no one's forcing you to.
Because samsung is so much cheaper right? Because samsung has a better camera right? Because samsung has a better battery life right? Because android is a smoother OS right? Didn't think so.
As someone who has an android and has multiple window devices you don’t get the same experience with a IPhone and MacBook the way everything feels like it’s supposed to be there and everything is just so seamless and clean
I am not willing to get scammed to just get that feeling of "seamless-ness". I would much rather stick with Linux and FOSS. Just waiting for Pinephones.
True me you never want it, I been using apple phone because my parents pass down there old one. When they use to buy new one every year.... Anyways you get less freedom with your phone, your force to pay things such like music, icloud for more storage... While android you have more freedom your not force to make an account to access the phone. You have options to upgrade more storage and play any music you like
I don't like the fact that the home screen is the same on every single iPhone on earth. They are charging you over $1 000 for a phone that as like 75% of the features of the android market. Look at Samsung, they can have $1 000 phones because you get what you paid for (free case in box, fast charging in box, a beautifully designed phone, great battery, an OS that don't limit you and gives you true milty tasking, can download your own themes and widgets and put it where you want to, gives you auntntication options to unlock your phone and not just FaceID). COME ONNN, that notch is so ugly. They are also overpriced and just wants all your money to complete their "ecosystem". Sheeple also thinks they are superior to people with android, example they think their cameras is the best although people that know something about tech knows it's not true and they think less of you if you don't have an iPhone. You may call me a Samsung fanboy, but I don't wast money on tech that doesn't have all the usefull features that I pay for. I think I said enough 🤣
Zander Coetzee well... they actually have a $500 higher price. That’s honestly WAY too much, and then there’s gonna be the $600 lowest price point for the iPhone 12... also, there’s the fact that we have the better battery life...
I used to be a huge fan, but they just aren’t the company they used to be. The products aren’t as durable or long-lasting as they once were, and the customer service is abominable compared to the old days. I have TONS of Apple products from being a fan for over a decade, but I doubt I’ll ever buy another one again.
@@OG_Gyekye the final straw was spending a week on the phone and in store with them trying to understand why my new, never used, completely clean iMac takes 10-20 minutes to boot and 10-15 minutes to switch tasks. Eventually I realized it’s because they sold it with a mechanical drive that just can’t handle modern software. While the techs I spoke with agreed “between the lines”, the company was unwilling to acknowledge this or help remedy. They wouldn’t even let me pay to replace the drive. I took it elsewear, and had a new drive and a speedy computer in 24 hours for $200. Apple wasted way more time and payroll than that pretending they did nothing wrong. I was already soured with my last few customer service interactions. Once when I brought a crushed iPhone in hoping to retrieve photos from my engagement that never had a chance to backup to the cloud. They said that was impossible, but I found out later that it’s actually quite easy. Now those photos of a precious memory are gone forever. I’m slightly annoyed that they stopped supporting my 2010 MBP over half a decade ago, when it’s actually still functioning. The freedom of repair. What give apple the right to tell people what to do with your product after you purchase it the over priced repair and the fact they slowed down older iPhones without telling people got caught and then had the audacity to charge $30 down from $80 for a replacement battery for a problem that they caused in the first place. This update came around the iPhone 10 and then Tim Cook had the balls to blame the battery replacement programme on poor iPhones sales that year. Apple blamed everyone who choose the battery replacement programme instead of buying a new iPhone. Apparently they did 11 million battery replacement that basically turned the old machines to brand new ones. The butterfly keyboard problems that took 4 years to fix. Backlights problems dieing on laptops overpriced repairs or the fact that when you go into a genius bar the fact that they are limited in store in fixing your products slow chargers in the box the fact you buy an Apple product and it is suggested that one product is not enough for to be in the ecosystem but for leaving it they make it hard because the system is good but the fact that you spend thousands of dollars to be a part of the ecosystem is very important also in this situation. Thin and light iPads bending for no reason iPads which cost $800 or more. Also battery locking which means you have to go to the apple store to get the battery replaced. That is just a few thoughts coming on the top of my head.
they slowed the iphones down, because if they kept the iphones fast, then the battery would be drained faster. when people didnt like this, Apple did the battery replacment program for people who wanted their phones to be faster. they did it on purpose to preserve battery life. also why do you expect a tablet to be indestructible, what are you doing with your tablet to make it bend like that? and yes, one product isn't enough to be in the ecosystem, you have to have more than one service to make an ecosystem, that the way actual living ecosystems work BTW. butterfly keyboard was apple trying to innovate, but people heavily criticizes that type of innovation, for some apparent reason?

I don´t like Apple way of building products. My company has given me a Macbook and after two years it has stopped working. The price to fix it is outrageous, cause every piece is made together and not interchangeable.
I'm disappointed in Apple because I just purchased a USB C to lightning bolt charger from the online Apple store and it stopped working after about a week. I contacted customer service and they said it was after a 14-day return window so they will not accept the defective product for a return or exchange. It is not really about feeling ripped off as much as it about hating supporting companies that make crappy products and don't stand behind the quality of them. I guess I've been spoiled with Amazon Prime's generous return policy of about 30 days. I really thought I could trust Apple products to be good quality and lasting. I even already threw away the packaging, which I don't do right away with Amazon purchases in case I need to send something back. I don't enjoy adding more e-waste to landfills. I was just considering upgrading my iPhone to a new one and was also looking at buying an iPad Pro, but this situation with the crappy charger has me reconsidering whether buying from Apple is even worth it anymore. I believe a brand should stand behind its products and should have excellent customer service. I don't believe Apple does this.
Ever since the iPhone 5s, I've been criticizing Apple every single year for their trash hardware compared to the competitors. Just as an example, my Oneplus 7 pro is exactly the same price as the iPhone 11, yet has 2x the RAM, 4x the storage, an OLED display with 1.5x the refresh rate and almost 4x the resolution, additional 3x zoom camera, no notch, in-display fingerprint scanner, 1.3x the battery capacity, and comes with one of the fastest chargers out there. The only annoyances are no wireless charging and official IP rating, which are both relatively cheap and should have been included. But it seems like Apple's customers will actively justify and defend them (which is why Apple has no reason to improve anything, since they know their idiot fanbase will buy it no matter what). So I gave up trying to fight for consumers, and bought Apple stock, which is great because now I actually get to profit off of the stupidity of their customers. I bet most of the reviewers who give high scores to Apple products are Apple shareholders anyways, so at this point I just don't care anymore if PhoneArena gives top scores to iPhones every year.
@@nuigurumisama I have a OnePlus 7 Pro too and it is way better than the iPhone 11.... And everything u say is facts... The apple consumers will buy anything apple puts out at any price so Apple will not change anything... I have friends that have apple products and they keep complaining about stuff that the apple products can't do that other companies products can do... But it is always stupid to buy something and then complain about it because nobody forced them to buy it... And apple already got their money when they buy a apple product and then complain about it... As I always say the only way Apple will lower their prices and make their products with what their consumers want is to stop buying apple products so they have to lower the prices and give the consumers what they want... The only way Apple will listen to their consumers is to make them lose money...
I have to disagree. The iPhone 11 Pro Max has the best display (brightest, True Tone, Dolby Vision HDR, best burn-in management, best colour accuracy, 120hz touch-sensing), fastest smartphone processor (A13 BIONIC), most advanced/intelligent and feature-rich biometric (Face ID), most durable glass, polished stainless steel, longest battery life, Taptic Engine, best and most versatile cameras, and most importantly...... Higher sustained resale value and longevity in software support. There’s also the fantastic ecosystem. Apple makes (IMO) the best tablets, smart watches, wireless earbuds.
@@ameerali.ouarda I disagree with everything u said... There are $500 phones from other companies that are better than iPhones that cost twice the price... There is no single company that makes the best phones, tablets, smart watches and earbuds... Each company have the best of each product... There is even a $90 Airpod Pro clone that use the same materials, look, sound the same and does everything that the original Airpod Pro does... That alone shows how overpriced apple products are... If I make a Ferrari clone that use the same materials, looks exactly and does everything that the original Ferrari does for less than half the price that shows the original Ferrari is overpriced...
@@ameerali.ouarda I would say the best things about iPhones are the processor, updates, and display (but only for the pro models - the non pro 11 is garbage). But after being used to seeing 90Hz and 120Hz displays, even the iPhone 11 pro max display feels laggy. Camera is always up there, but never the best due to their mediocre hardware and decent software. I mean, I think Apple was literally the last company to implement night mode in their cameras. Their video quality is always great, though. The worst part of the whole iPhone lineup is definitely the 64GB starting storage capacity, which is pathetic for the price they charge. As I mentioned, I get 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage for the same price as the 64GB iPhone 11. As for resale value, it's only high because Apple never drops their prices. It's already overpriced on launch day, yet it's the same price 364 days later. Android OEMs will always have sales after a few months, which will automatically reduce their resale value. What's even more annoying is what Apple does on Black Fridays, which is just to give out gift cards with your purchase. It's a smart business move though, since they still get you to buy everything at full price, and "forces" you to come back to buy more from them. I remember the old days when they used to actually give you discounts on everything on Black Friday. The ecosystem is also a great business move, since they "trap" you in it, meaning it's less likely for people to switch to other platforms even if they don't like (or can't afford) Apple products anymore. Bottom line is to be on the business side, rather than the consumer side. If you still really want Apple products, my advice is to find someone who works there and get an employee discount. For 15-20% less, I think their products become more reasonable.

Well said
Ugh I hate how Apple hides things and makes what should be a simple process a fucking pain in the ass. Seriously it takes me 3 mins to transfer data between Android phones while on iphones it takes 10 or more because of the dumb process you described.
Thanks for sharing
It very true you don't got much freedom, you literally have to make an apple id to access most of the phone in the first place. You cannot down any apps without it.

For me I used to like apple when they offered affordable products with a high build quality that was ahead of the market. Now I feel more like a beta tester trying new ports and dongles that get replaced or remade in every future iteration of their devices. Also they are no longer affordable. I need something that I can spend money on and have it be future proof for a few years. with the way apple is operating now I don't see myself investing in them for quite some time
You should look into gaming phones... Don't think gaming phone as for gaming they are way more powerful, higher spec such as higher battery capacity, more storage, faster running any apps. Yes all this required for gaming, if you think about it. It literally a better phone. Normal phones never get that because it target people who don't give a crap how there phone works. Gaming phone is target people who actually cared about the specs of the phone and actually test jt themselves.
Good to hear you are leaving the cult, but what products exactly did apple make that were "ahead of the market"?
@@jomomma4983 the ipod touch, and the early versions of itunes were ahead of the market. The ipod touch had obviously a touch screen that was different for it's time since most things around the time used buttons or dials. iTunes used to allow you to store all music files and mp3s from any scource not just iTunes music. It also had a playlist mixer that would take all your songs and mix them into a playlist so you didn't have to hear them in the same order. Most of those features are gone now.

Apple is shady. Whether it's their terrible job at repairing things, or the fact that we now have people excusing 828p as good, when really it's going backwards in technology and cutting costs while still being greedy and charging someone $700 for it.

To the point that my IPad is the most liming device I own and, if it wasn't for school and digital art on the go, would essetially be useless to me...
My IPad would already become more usable if they would just fix the files app and add a stupid calculator to the Ipad so I don't have to download a calculator with a shitload of ads or monthly subscription.
good look with the android and windows malwares and Co.!
@@emanuel_soundtrack Getting viruses/malware on android is actually pretty hard unless you install APKs. Which it warns you about, and it's something you should only do if you know what you're doing.
And generally if you have a basic understanding of the os/internet, getting viruses/malware is barely a risk unless you're doing things like torrenting. Anti viruses exist, and they are pretty good at what they're made for. Yes, you are more at risk, but you're able to do more. That's just how safety works in general.
Despite that, you can also get malware and stuff on Apple devices aswell. It's a pretty big OS, so it's also getting targeted. Just because it's more locked down, apple can more easily do something against it.

linux, linux is what powers the internet. i hated apple and i've always hated apple, they made great media players back in the day though, and it was easy enough to get them to play whatever you wanted for free. as i grew into a developer my hatred for apple and apple users grows. apple makes web development harder, because the CEO ofc has an iphone and doesn't render CSS on their browser like regular android and computer users do. luckily we have new tools like nativescript to combat Apple's bullshit.
i get so annoyed when someone asks me "do you have an iphone?" and i'm like "no, i have an android" "how about a windows machine?" "no i have linux" pretty soon we'll have RISC-V chipsets and manufacturers are going to leave apple, amd, and intel in the dust.
Dude I am waiting for that day. Pinephones are getting better. Soon I hope I'll be able to switch to them and dump Android for good. Already made the Windows to Linux switch a while back.
Not sure about RISC-V implementations being able to compete with Intel, etc though. I do hope it happens. My country is making a strategic push towards it, not sure how successful they'll be though. They are working on the 22nm node multicore processors from everything starting from mobiles, PCs to HPC. We also need some commercial Silicon Fabs in our country to break our dependence on the West.
As far as strategic applications goes, older, larger nodes are still good enough. So we have some degree of independence from the West right now. But we are lagging a lot in HPC department. There, we need state-of-the -art processors. Its indispensable.

Apple is pretty much like Supreme. You buy it for the brand not the quality. It's fine for Supreme because their products are literally anything from apparel to bricks, yes bricks. They don't require a lot of functionality. But when it comes to a tech company, functionality should be of utmost importance but no, Apple tries to be like Supreme and appeal to as much people as possible, abandoning quality in the process.
Apple products are meant for creatures with less than three brain cells. Luckily for them, it works cause of the number of single digit IQ humans in this world.

Horrendously overpriced for what you actually get for your hard earned cash... Crazy repair charges if you are out of warranty, bad built quality, locked into their ecosystem meaning more money for them.
its overpriced because of the economy inflation
Samsung and google aren't that much cheaper, Chinese phones are blocked, you should get the apple warranty then, build quality is extremely luxury, you chose to get into an ecosystem no one's forcing you to.
Because samsung is so much cheaper right?
Because samsung has a better camera right?
Because samsung has a better battery life right?
Because android is a smoother OS right?

True me you never want it, I been using apple phone because my parents pass down there old one. When they use to buy new one every year....
Anyways you get less freedom with your phone, your force to pay things such like music, icloud for more storage...
While android you have more freedom your not force to make an account to access the phone. You have options to upgrade more storage and play any music you like
you probably can’t
What was the problem that made you switch?
Luckily those old ones are easy enough to self-service, but it’s annoying that they refuse to even sell parts or look at it.
@@maryooliss what was the year? And what iMac was it. Also every company sells newer products even if the old ones don’t work it’s not just apple. That is just a few thoughts coming on the top of my head.
they slowed the iphones down, because if they kept the iphones fast, then the battery would be drained faster. when people didnt like this, Apple did the battery replacment program for people who wanted their phones to be faster. they did it on purpose to preserve battery life. also why do you expect a tablet to be indestructible, what are you doing with your tablet to make it bend like that? and yes, one product isn't enough to be in the ecosystem, you have to have more than one service to make an ecosystem, that the way actual living ecosystems work BTW. butterfly keyboard was apple trying to innovate, but people heavily criticizes that type of innovation, for some apparent reason?

people who buy apple think that if its expensive it has to be good
People who buy apple don't have time to cope with shitty windows crashing all the time.
Every Apple 🍏 Product Is Overpriced ❌
U get way more & better value, features & specs at lower prices from other companies...
