I, as an Italian who loves poetry and loves reading it in the original language, feel deeply inspired by this specific poem by Shelley. There is a deep and intimate connection between Shelley and Italy, especially evident for those, like me, who have bathed since childhood in the sacred and magical waters of the Gulf of Poets of Lerici, waters in which Shelley lost his life. Thank you for this wonderful read.. “Oh Beauty Thou no longer dwell Midst the gales and billows Of this deuced spittle of mud We sulky human vermins Stubbornly call Earth So hie thou then In your vernal wondrous vesture Unto the halcyon verdant vale We, lost rebel souls, Desperately call eternity"
Superb, grim rage and golden English language. Words are power, we should pay heed. A wonderful outlet for my grim rage. Thank you Mr.Wood for setting the cornerstone. Geraldine

“Oh Beauty
Thou no longer dwell
Midst the gales and billows
Of this deuced spittle of mud
We sulky human vermins
Stubbornly call Earth
So hie thou then
In your vernal wondrous vesture
Unto the halcyon verdant vale
We, lost rebel souls,
Desperately call eternity"

So true. I am God and king and law. Always makes me think of the pedo priest of primary school, and his power, undiminished by revelations.
Violent epic poem perfectly performed. A Masterpiece.

Brilliant narration
Thank you. A shattering poem. I'll have to read more of Shelley's long narrative works.
Channeling P. B. Shelley
Dear A. L. Wood
Ads in the middle of the poem? Yuk
Any thoughts on the poem itself?
@@ArthurLWood It was brilliant which is why the interruptions irked me.
What are you going to do about it? We are many, ads are few.
