One would think, that the Catholic Church, with its vast, inestimable wealth, palaces, cathedrals, treasures and art, would contribute to the upkeep of these magnificent, historic cemeteries that they have abandoned and left to nature. What a disgrace! Undoubtedly, those who lie there contributed money to the church and attended services there regularly ...and this is what they got in return. And yet, the church continues to act as if they are the arbiter of what is good and bad, right and wrong. This is clearly wrong, no matter what your faith.

When I come across a grave that seems neglected or damaged from ages, I say lament to give peace to the desecration, whether purposefully or not. I also wear a talisman ( 20" chain with several added charms either gifted or anointed). I wish I could run my hands on the stone walls 🧱 or on a 500 year old gravestone. A lot of what I see is indicative of lack of proper maintenance.

Love the old cemetery. The name Moriarty brings to mind Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes. Was wondering if Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got the name from Ireland or an acquaintance .

stumbled on your channel. Loving all those old churches that I will never see in real life. In Canada we think a 100 year old church is ancient, but to see churches from the 1200's is amazing.

I ❤ love seeing these old places. I just discovered your channel and you do such a great job of showing the history behind them! I do have one question, have you done any videos in or near County Caven and seen any McCabe gravestones? They are my ancestors on my Mother's side and I am itching to see a headstone or anything really with their surname on it. I have always wanted to visit Ireland and your videos make me feel like I am right there with you! That, kind lady takes talent and you have it in bunches! 😊 I live in Texas. Looking forward to your reply, take care.⚘🤠

They were one of the first gallowglass families that came over from Scotland. Thank you so much! ❤
